This store is beautiful and full of quality pieces. I love stopping by to look at the clothes or home goods or knick knacks. Everyone is always kind and helpful as well.

A fantastic local outdoor outfitter carrying name brands with many generations of serving locals and university folks. Spending your money here keeps the State Street downtown biz corridor alive. ?

Hey Bivouac. Wanted to share I’m still rocking my fleece Patagonia pants I got from you in 1993. 30 years. Quality. A few burn holes from the campfire. Still going strong!!

Placed a group order for Patagonia sweaters for my department and AJ was a pleasure to work with! Quick responses and addressed all of our questions. Would definitely recommend going here for large group orders!

This is the number one place in the area for high end outdoor softgoods. The boot room is second to none. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure to check out the bargain basement for incredible deals.

A lot of run of the mill overpriced outdoor wear (e.g.Patagonia). The staff was modestly friendly, but annoying as they will follow you up and down the stairs afraid you are going to steal something.

Two male workers swore at us behind our backs when we came in just because we went into the store 15 minutes before closing (which is enough time to do what we wanted to do)

This place has been here along time and I always like browsing around and have bought Number of items over the years. They have outdoors themed clothes, backpacks, luggage, camping gear, shoes, assessors and other goods worth looking at. The price always seems to be higher than other outdoor stores but I usually don't mind paying a little more than REI or Amazon as I like small businesses. I will say a key negative has been for the past year(s) it seems, that there is an excess number of sales people that ask numerous times if you need help. This is normally the same person, but when you move to another section you can be asked once or twice minimum and it adds up. I overheard two employees complaining to each other a year or so ago that they were given instructions to always stay in their section and engage customers and their manager was on them about it. Not sure if that is why they are relentless, but it makes me uncomfortable at times, as if I am pressured to buy or being watched for theft. They are friendly, but I come here less as a result since I like to shop in peace. I really like the selection, the store itself, the location as it is in downtown Ann Arbor/walkable, near nice cafes and restaurants. I think engagement with customers is good.....but for me anyway needs to come across less repetitive/intrusive of the shopping experience.
