I went to Anthropologie today because I had a gift card, and experienced something no woman should go through when I walked up to check out. A middle aged female employee complimented my dress and then said "when are you due?" to which I responded "what?" As if that wasn't enough of a response to make her stop talking, she then rubbed her own belly and said "aren't you expecting?" and I said "no". She offered a weak apology and I said "maybe don't say that to women." The other employee continued checking me out and then the first woman said something to the effect of saying it wasn't her intention to make such a mistake and I ignored her. This woman wasn't even the one checking me out so there was no obligation to converse with me in the first place.
I hurried up my transaction by telling the worker not to worry too much about wrapping my items and asked for my receipt to be emailed. I was in tears as soon as I left the counter and cried all the way home. I am a thin person/slightly curvy and a 36 year old's body is not going to be perfect but to bring attention to it is wrong on so many levels. I have been feeling good about myself lately and got several compliments today at work on my outfit.
I cannot believe in today's world, a woman would be so self absorbed and ignorant as to assume that a stranger is pregnant. ESPECIALLY an employee at a retail store that sells clothing (often not inclusive sizes which I literally heard another customer comment on while I was in the sale section of the store). I could have health issues, an eating disorder, fertility issues, etc. I am a social work supervisor and am shocked that someone would have the lack of insight and audacity to comment on a woman's body. Under no circumstances would I ever assume that someone is pregnant and I sure as hell wouldn't say it out loud to their face. Some people apparently just don’t think before they speak and it really shows their character. Anthropologie already has a reputation as being uppity and entitled and unfortunately this negative interaction has just supported that reputation. I have always enjoyed shopping there but I will never be back to this location.

Nice selection but staff have alot to be desired. Not one Associate greeted me or asked if I'd like some help . . . Will probably not be visiting again

Thecstaff is over-bearing. As a noticeable minority in the store I couldn’t help but feel racially profiled. I couldn’t browse without someone trailing closely behind, asking if I needed help. I went in the store with intentions to buy several holiday gifts, but was so turned off after 15 minutes that I left.

Please adjust your closing hours - for the 3rd time I came a long way to realize that you are closed at 6pm, although the website states you close at 7 pm. Not cool! At least 6 ppl were outside your doors hoping to make a return or shop, do better!

For a company with such overpriced clothing, you'd expect that they pay their employees accordingly. Sales associates do NOT make commission, but they really should. Sales associates at Anthro make UNDER $13/hr which is insane when you take into account that the store sells $100 t-shirts. You can get paid better at the Whole Foods across the street. The employees there should unionize, strike, or both.

This post is not a reflection of the store location itself but the entire chain. Anthropologie delivered a damaged piece of furniture that was valued around $1000.00. After delivering the damaged furniture they did replace the piece. HOWEVER, they will not pick up the damaged furniture for the return. They will expect the customer to repackage and get the product ready to go for UPS pickup. Let me emphasize, if you order a large piece of furniture you will have NO assistance in getting this out of your home. Basically, figure it out and good luck. But don't worry, if you can't get this furniture out of you home on your own, they will offer you a 20% discount and allow you to keep the piece of furniture on top of the good piece of furniture. And to be clear, no one needs 3 nightstands! God bless. After 15 calls, and an offer of a 20% discount you are screwed. I will never again purchase a piece of furniture or clothes from Anthropologie after realizing the scam they put customers through. If as an entire chain you can not assist in returns and a delivery service for the furniture you are selling. Don't market the product. At 135 lbs, single women are not able to man handle 70 lbs of furniture by themselves into boxes and out the door.

Visited the store in Michigan while visiting family. Always find something amazing. Wish Anthro still had there great "additional" sales. I have been a customer for decades, still devoted.
