Worse experience in a train EVER. We took the double amount of time (8 hours instead of 4) to reach our destination; they made us change seats once the train departed; no power so the temperature dropped inside the train... And, yet no response ONE month later to the complaints and money return the train crew promised. Very unprofessional and rude. Never will I buy tickets again.

Beautiful city. Plenty to do including visiting an amazing Metropark System. Quaint restaurants downtown with outdoor seating patio style. And, not to mention, the great University Of Michigan campus sits in the heart of the city.

The facility is really nice, but the staff is super rude. They honestly do not care about customers and do not do their jobs. Can also hear them talking bad things about customers that needed their help. Worst service ever!

Perfect location. Busy train station and the awesome staff their work really hard. It’s now a dual purpose station with Greyhound available their too. You can catch westbound trains to Chicago and eastbound trains to Dearborn and up to Pontiac. Indoor seating is available in the lobby during operational hours.

Decent amount of seating for the size of the station. Everything is clean and in good repair. Friendly staff. The train only makes a quick stop, but boarding is quick and easy. Note that there is no checked baggage on these trains.

This review shouldn't be used as a basis for not using Amtrak to travel from A2 to Chicago. Instead, it should be used to tell you what to expect or be prepared for if you do. Postives: long term parking is free (but please also see last comments about that), the station and restrooms are clean, staff was friendly and helpful not only to me but to everyone I overheard asking them questions and buying tickets. They also did their best to keep us all informed of where the train was during the 4 hour delay that followed an accident with a car in Dearborn just minutes before the train was scheduled to arrive at our station. That's the risk. DELAYS! Regretfully, no one knew how long the police and Amtrak and re-crewing would take for sure, but surely there was a closer estimate than telling us every hour -it will be another hour. Knowing would have allowed everyone to make decisions about getting offsite food or beverages or rides away from the station for awhile. But that said, all the travellers took it in stride and no one acted out. If you do have a delay of at least 25-30 minutes, that's enough time to call in a carry-out order from nearby Northside Grill and go down the hill to pick it up (15 minute walk RT) Or enough time to go up the hill to Sweetwater for a good coffee or drink (also about a 15 minute RT). Go prepared! Take snacks!! What is really bad about the Amtrak station is the longterm parking available just across the tracks with way over but down lots of steps and across a regular strret bridge. That traverse might be ok on a sunny summer day but winter might be a little tough. Also hard on older folks or those with disabilities. You are literally steps from the station when you park. I can't imagine it would be that difficult to figure out some safe ground-level access to the station. And the parking lot itself is gravel only (ok) but lot and stairs were littered with trash and looking pretty sketchy. No pics of that....I was hurrying to catch the train!! LOL joke was on me! Addendum: two days later Amtrak issued travel vouchers to each passenger for the inconvenience (about 1/3 of my ticket price). I used mine for an upgrade to business for the return home, a trip that was fast, uninterrupted and right on time. All's well that ends well.

Nice town. Not too big. Not too small. College town. Lots going on for a town of it's size. Seems like it would be a cool place to live.

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD. Ehoevers grand f****** idea it was to use a train as a form of transportation needs to be euthanized. How DOES A TRAIN GET DELAYED. Like just f****** press go. I'm sweating from my balls to my toes right now. I WOULD RATHER WALK THRU THE OCEAN THEN GO ON A TRAIN. I hate this place. Don't do bad things because this was my karma. I've learned my lesson.

I love the atmosphere of the train station; when i go; usually pretty quiet and not a lot of hustle and bustle until a "boat load" of passengers starts cramming the platforms lol. Great staff, located on the north side of Ann Arbor, the station itself is small but big enough for a large group. The train itself the "Wolverine" service is fun to ride, although there are delays for a number of reasons; as long as we get to our destination on time, safely and efficiently that is all that matters. Love looking out the windows, seeing everything zoom by when traveling at 110 MPH at certain points, love the sound of the wheels on the track and the constantly blown Nathan K5LA 3rd Generation horn which is required to do a 2-1-1 signal; 2 long, 1 short, 1 long at all crossings unless they are in a "quiet" zone. the conductors are so fun and helpful. I remember one time, I was playing a "non metallic" version of scrabble; we hit a bump and MOST, I mean MOST of the pieces went flying So that was funny; luckily we finished our game. So nice when you have the freedom of playing cards or other games, listening to music with headphones, talking, doing work or just Nothing. I've been on the train MULTIPLE times to Kalamazoo, once to Battle Creek, once to Jackson, once to Chicago, twice to Dearborn, love it. So while she rolls on down the tracks, just sit back and relax. Who WOULDN'T recommend amtrak. Tell your friends; see you aboard. Mike

I've used the Ann Arbor Amtrak Station many times... while it's not fancy like major cities, but it serves it's purpose. Plenty of seating for the waiting area and the bathroom was modern and clean. However, officials needs to stop talking about building a new station and just build one!! I think they been talking about building new station for over 10 years... lets move forward!!

Clean, reliable station for trains and greyhounds. Parking lot makes Uber/Lyft convenient. Pre-covid expect delays, but during COVID my experience is that my trips have always been on time
