I took my Bunny Kodiak to Animal Kingdom after calling 8 different vets In my area to see if he could be seen for his Head tilt issue, Animal Kingdom was able to get me in to an appointment in less than a weeks period. Very sweet staff and they handled my Kodiak with such care. Highly recommend going here for you exotic/small pets.

We are here visiting from Florida with our Red Front Macaw. When he developed issues requiring a veterinary visit.
They were able to get us in , in 3 days . We can't say enough good things about Dr. Vicky Marsh .
The hour she spent with us and how she handled Oliver on his exam. We are already planning his annual check up for next year when we return for our summer visit.

I originally chose Animal Kingdom because of all of the great reviews I had seen. I first brought my cat in Fall 2022 and although my experience was positive at first, the past 6 months have caused me to reevaluate and ultimately choose to switch to a new vet because of several negative experiences.
In January my cat developed a very serious eye infection. The entire side of his face swelled to the size of a tennis ball and his third eyelid had completely covered his eye, causing him partial blindness and incredible pain. I called Animal Kingdom and explained the situation. Despite the severity of his symptoms they told me the earliest I could be seen was in 2 weeks. Unable to wait that long, I took my cat to Ann Arbor Animal Hospital instead where I was able to be seen that same day. I was told that if I had waited there was a chance he could have lost the eye.
Despite this experience I hadn’t fully given up on Animal Kingdom. I called today to request anxiety medication for my cat since I will be flying with him soon. I was told I needed an appointment, which I understood and was happy to do. They were able to get me in much quicker than last time, but then after confirming the date and time the receptionist informed me that they had a new policy where I had to give a credit card ahead of time to pay for the visit ($70). I explained that due to personal circumstances (a stolen wallet and delay in getting new cards shipped to me) I did not have any physical credit cards and only had access to the Apple Pay wallet on my phone. I was told that I couldn’t make an appointment unless I gave card info on the phone to pay for the visit beforehand. So once again, I turned to Ann Arbor Animal Hospital who were able to get me an appointment quickly and with no extra hoops to jump through.
The vets and vet techs at Animal Kingdom are good. But there’s lots of good vets in the area, and I’d rather go to any number of them than deal with the headache that is Animal Kingdom.

As others have recently shared, I echo their frustrations. As a loyal customer to Animal Kingdom for nearly a decade, I find that they have recently done a complete 180⁰ with their customer service and policy enforcement. As someone who has ALWAYS paid their bill before leaving the clinic I find it insulting that they continually treat me as if I will be skipping out on my bill. They recently lost power briefly from a storm while I was there and when I refused to allow them to hand write my card number on a piece of paper, the admins very clearly showed their annoyance with me and made me feel as if I was in the wrong - not acknowledging that I had just left a very stressful appt with my dog all while juggling a fussy infant in tow. Nearly in tears from everything going on. Poor customer service in general. Of note - they keep a card on file now per their new deposit policy so hand writing my card number on paper for anyone to view was absolutely unnecessary.
I recently lost one older dog, to which I believe AK could have offered more help to his condition but that is in the past now. Now, I am close to losing our second older dog and can't help but think AK is doing the absolute worst job in providing proper care. Prescribing antibiotics without knowing what bacteria or infection she is suffering with. Suggesting all the services that cost an arm and a leg. And not taking things in a "step by step" manner.
I'm very disappointed in the shift in environment that I'm experiencing. It really makes me feel like we are just another dollar and nothing else.
EDIT TO ADD: I decided to take my dog to another facility for a second opinion and already have more answers on her condition. We won't be returning to AK.

A place where you feel like you are doing something for your pet and that you are cared for professionally from the moment you enter. The people who welcome you are very friendly and very professional.

I took my Russian dwarf hamster here. The vet said they don't get many lil hammies. Still, they treated me and my lil guy like royalty. The vet showed a deep care and vast knowledge for animals. I really appreciated the experience we had at this vet. The office is beautiful. You can tell they really care about the people and pets in this community.

Dr. Vicki Daldin Marsh has been our veterinarian for 24 years. She saved my pet's life. She is gentle, honest, and very kind. She takes time to answer any questions. I highly recommend her. She's a very compassionate person.
If she's not available, I've also had a very nice experience with Dr.Lake- also kind, gentle, trustworthy. She is definitely following in Dr.Daldin Marsh’s footsteps.

I have been taking pets to Animal Kingdom for at least 20 years, Now want me to pay for services days ahead of time, Not card on file but pay before service is rendered, they call it a "deposit" and "will be applied at time of visit" but they run the card and charge ahead of time..I've never been late, never cancelled an apointment,I trusted them to leave a card on file to be charged at time of service but they don't trust their long time customers to show up,they only accept the advance payment.
Such a sad end to a long time association.

Took Parakeet in to have its nails clipped. The employee clipped the birds' nails in a most unconventional way as I've been told by other vets in the area after describing how he handled the bird. You don't fling the scissors at the bird as you move the bird back and forth. The bird was scared and bit him, so he held it tighter by the abdomen. Birds don't have diaphragms like humans. He suffocated it and it died in front of us. The vet tried to blame it for other reasons which were untrue. He was flying around and eating breakfast with us right before we took him in. It's obvious they are trying to downplay the situation. Please don't take your pet there if you love it!
