I left there an hour ago. They updated the checkout area. They put in majority self checkouts & only left 10 lanes. I went there a couple days ago & stood in the lane for 35 mins while both lines for self checkouts were packed. There's also no limit for self checkout! It's ridiculous they don't give you a discount even though your doing ALL of the work yourself while handing them money! Also, their motorized carts barely work half the time if you need them!
**Update;
They are opening more lanes since people complained about the wait time! But now the self checkout line is A LOT longer!! It depends on the day & hour of day you go...

There’s a cashier at self checkout named Brooke and every time I come in she is always smiling and greeting everyone. Always helpful. Best cashier

Needed to make an exchange and service counter was a good experience to start. Returned with the item I wanted to exchange with original item. Explained to different employee I was having issues w card I made purchase w I'd like to put it on I gift card I had .36 cents remaining. She said that wasn't possible...went ahead a put the difference on the card for original transaction (I wasn't aware yet) I said well put on a different one? She said too late it's on the original card...???? Ummm thanks for asking first? But I was talking to her but actually she was busy talking to another employee & not paying attention to me lol...So there's that little bit of her not hearing me telling her I was having issues with the card I made the original purchase with. So now the difference she put back where I didn't want her too is in limbo until everything is fixed. But hey whatever right? Lol at least I got the exchange done & there's money there one of these days. No big deal.

For Me I love this store I visit it about 4 times a week the self check out is perfect with those beautiful ladies so helpful and kind ( Brookie ) ( Stacy ) ( Zeinab ) and (Hawraa), they are very helpful, kind and friendly, its the reason I love to visit this branch Allen park Fairlane drive I will strongly recommend it to everyone five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️❤️

What happened to all the cashiers? Self checkout is so annoying. This Meijer wastes so much product by throwing it away. I worked there briefly when I was younger and they throw so much food and products away. Big corporations man.
