I was looking for a tax prepares on short notice. They were able to see me that same week. My taxes were a little complicated because of my business and my wife's citizenship. Hassan at Lakeshore Accounting really knows the tax code and has many years of experience. He got me a small refund when I hade no expectation of getting any refund.
I'm so glad I found Lakeshore when I needed them! I would absolutely go back next year.

Identity TheftIt is alarming to see numerous other people leave a review stating they have been victims of identity theft. My wife and I were both victims of identity theft as well. In the same year as the other reviewers who posted here. I was in a bit of a shock when I received notification from the IRS that our taxes had been filed fraudulently. To say I understand security both in the virtual world (online) and the real world would be an understatement. We are extremely careful with our information, and go to great lengths to ensure this is something that doesnt happen to us.I could not figure out the source of this id theft, especially considering the lengths I go to in order to protect my information. Then I began reading these reviews and while I cannot say with certainty the source is here, I can say that it is extremely odd that so many people have had the same issue and this is very alarming. Now I am performing audits of my children's information and running background checks and credit checks on them praying their ID wasn't stolen as well. I am not sure how it happened, if it was a compromised system locally, or if the cloud platform used to house the information was breached, I just know that there are now 2 more victims of ID theft and we all had our taxes completed at the same place.

If I could give a negative star I would. Last year I provided my tax documents on their app/website as requested. Normally I would go in person but this was not an option. I confirmed with staff that it was received and they would get to it right away. After not hearing anything I called multiple times, never was able to speak with him, only with front desk staff. Who assured me they would have it done by the deadline. And if not they could file an extension on my behalf. The deadline came and went all the while I'm calling and being assured it will get done. It was a simple w2, but received excuse after excuse. First Ramadan, then he had surgery and then he got sick. I provided my documents well before Ramadan and it still was not done. This lasted for months. I eventually went elsewhere only to find out they never did file the extension. Would have had to pay higher interest and fees had it not been for my new accountant / tax service that fixed the situation.Do not go here! And if you do, beware!

I feel compelled to share my harrowing experience with Hassan Awada (lakeshore Accounting& Tax Services), an accountant who has proven to be utterly incompetent and untrustworthy. My encounter with this individual has left me deeply frustrated, financially burdened, and thoroughly disillusioned.From the outset, it became apparent that with Hassan Awada (lakeshore Accounting& Tax Services) had no qualms about lying to me. During my tax audit, they assured me that I shouldn't make any payments and that they would resolve the issue on my behalf. However, these promises turned out to be nothing more than empty words. I followed their advice, only to discover later that they had no intention of rectifying the situation. As a result, I suffered significant financial losses, enduring the burden of accrued interest for nearly two years.To compound matters, I recently discovered that my tax return for 2022 has been delayed due to identity theft. Shockingly, this security breach occurred due to the compromised computer system maintained by with Hassan Awada (lakeshore Accounting& Tax Services). It is absolutely unacceptable that an entrusted professional would display such carelessness when handling sensitive client information. The consequences of their negligence have left me exposed to potential fraudulent activities, causing immense distress and inconvenience.Adding insult to injury, with Hassan Awada (lakeshore Accounting& Tax Services) repeatedly canceled appointments whenever I attempted to arrange a meeting to discuss these pressing matters. Their consistent disregard for my time and their failure to honor commitments demonstrate a complete lack of professionalism and respect for their clients.Based on my personal ordeal, I strongly advise anyone considering with Hassan Awada (lakeshore Accounting& Tax Services) services to think twice. Their lack of integrity, poor communication, and outright negligence make them entirely unfit to handle anyone's financial affairs. Engaging their services would undoubtedly lead to severe financial repercussions and emotional anguish.

DO NOT COME HERE! If I could leave less than one star I would. Both my parents and I went to Hassan and he did not file our taxes on time and filed for an extension without our permission. With 0 communication ever because he refused to respond to our emails or calls, and a number excuses of accidents and surgery's, he then told us that he did not even have his license in the state and sent our tax information to someone else to finish them for him WITHOUT OUT PERMISSION. We have absolutely no clue who did our taxes, and they were done wrong. We had to pay late fees because he did not file on time, and over all a horrible experience and extremely stressful. Both my parents and I now received letters saying that our taxes have been filed (which we have not filed taxes yet) and are victims of identity theft. We have no other finance correlation other than both getting out taxes done her, honestly not a surprise. Hassan was the most shady tax guy I’ve ever been to. I’m just happy to be done with the situation (no thanks to him) and heartbroken to see reviews similar to what I’ve experienced even a year later. PLEASE SAVE YOUR TIME !!!

From the moment when I call in the representative was very helpful and when I arrived in person I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable receptionist who made me feel at ease.The Hassan was able to answer all of my questions and provide me with expert advice on how to optimize my tax situation. This is the second year in a row where I have received zero communication. I left 2 emails within about a month from each other and called 4 times. 2 of those times I was told by the receptionist that she would get a message to Hassan to call me and the 3rd time she said she would leave a voicemail for me regarding my taxes and I’ve received nothing back from them. I ended up making an appointment with someone else. Complete waste of time.
