My wife had an injury to her knee and we had to call an ambulance to take her to the hospital. Mind you, we live less than 3/4 of a mile from Allegan Ascension Bronson Hospital. Her knee was possibly dislocated or a broken bone. When asked by the EMT where we wanted to go, of course I said Allegan Hospital. I was told just so you know, if she needs anything done surgery wise they will have to send her somewhere else as there are no orthopedic surgeons at Allegan. Our neighbor took himself to Allegan Hospital early Monday morning do to extreme stomach pains, was diagnosed as infected gallbladder, but they don't have ANY surgeons in Allegan and had to transport him to Kalamazoo to have the surgery performed. According to the website, they have all these services at Allegan Hospital, but they don't. It would seem to me if a person is taken to Allegan for an injury and they don't have the professionals available to help them, Ascension Health should have to pay for the ambulance transfer to the facility that could help them. This is absolutely an unacceptable situation for us that live in Allegan county. There is no reason that Ascension Health should leave Allegan county without any type of services for our community. So my wife had to travel by ambulance for services to Holland Hospital ER to get diagnosed. They were fantastic!!!!

This place is horrible. There is no direct number to the pediatrics clinic, so you're just on hold and no one picks up. Making an appointment is impossible.

Go to Bronson if you can manage. Billing has been a total nightmare. No communication, transferring me to unrelated departments, no confirmation of denial or approval of financial aid and now I'm having to hound collections.

Absolutely Awful! I went to the ER in December with EXTREME nerve pain making it impossible to walk or stand and every movement was like an electric shock. The first nurse was kind and said they would get some pain meds and imaging, the "doctor" came in and said she won't give me anything strong for the pain because I'll get addicted and they won't do imaging because I wasn't incontinent or in an auto accident. She was obnoxious and snippy, she asked why I hadn't gone to my PCP or called to set up an appointment there (it was a Friday evening) and she treated me like a drug seeker and had THE worst bedside manor I've ever encountered. After over an hour in excruciating pain, they finally gave me a couple shots one for inflammation and a local muscle relaxer. The pain dulled, but my leg was completely numb and they said to follow up with my primary and sent me home. I spent all weekend unable to walk or feel most of my leg outside of the pain I was still in and the Dr. (also at this hospital) couldn't see me till Wednesday. The doctor ordered x-rays which didn't indicate anything (because it's NERVE pain) and said there wasn't much she could do and ordered PT. It took months for me to regain feeling and I still have numbness.
Also their billing department is A JOKE. Don't bother trying to use the portal listed on the bill. It doesn't work for this location per the escalations department. I have withdrawals from my credit card where I paid it, but they don't show any payments going through. That's because they have two different companies both billing for the same charges! Double Dipping!
I wouldn't take my dying children to this bandaid station.

Worst place to ever go for someone that has a serious situation going on. They did blood work and never called about the results. Can NEVER get through to anyone or even get an appointment. If u need a good doctor don’t come here. It’s ridiculous

My husband has been going to this location for a few months and had surgery last Friday. He was notified that it was a in and out procedure and he would be able to return to work the next day.
Since the procedure my husband has been in more pain than before and is unable to return to work due to not tolerating the pain in his back when he’s on his feet.
When he called the facility to get a note explaining the procedure for his work so he doesn’t lose his job he’s basically told to bad we’ll only give a letter for the day of procedure. But then tell him the increase pain will last around 2 wks.
He’s contacted them multiple times and is getting no help with this situation.
I think it’s ridiculous a pain facility gives unrealistic expectations to their patients then turn around and treat the patient like they are an issue.
The staff on the phones have no bedside manners and treat the patients like a burden.
If we knew how painful it would’ve been after the surgery we could’ve planned his pto around it and not risk him losing his job over this miscommunication.

I took down my terrible review from before because I felt like a Karen but this place is the absolute worst. I came in there in December with literally the worst sickness I have ever had in my life and they did absolutely nothing for me, no tests , no antibiotics. Drink some pedialyte and lay down they told me, this would all be fine because I got the treatment I needed in Holland but I literally just got a bill in the mail from this. They charged me and my insurance for doing absolutely nothing for me. I’m going to pay it. Just don’t ever go to this place if you don’t have to!

The telephone wait times are nothing short of abysmal. The complaints phone number asks you to leave a message. Says it all really.

This Allegan Michigan facility is full of unprofessional and frankly bias individuals who are basically just a base stepping stone for liberal practitioners not doctors ..and the receptionist would probably do as well just answering phones for a fundraising event !!!

There are too many bad things I can say about this place, especially the homophobic doctors and nurses in the ER. We only go here if I can't make it to Pipp in Plainwell. My child has been talked down to on numerous occasions by the staff in the ER. Most everyone else tries to be nice, it's just the ER I'd stay away from.

In regards to the Medical Clinic. I called in to schedule two sports physicals. I ask for one moment to confirm the times would work, and the person I spoke with proceeded to lecture me about "this is a clinic, I have patients here" so she didn't have time to wait. When she stopped lecturing me, I had already confirmed the times would work, so I told her I would take the times. The phone disconnected. I immediately called back and was told there were no times available. I ended up speaking with three staff members and they were all rude and seemed bothered by my call. We went to Plainwell Urgent Care and it cost much less and they are extremely friendly.

Took my son to ER in middle of night (we live out of state) and all I have to say is…thank goodness for the RN on duty because the doctor was completely useless. The doctor barely walked in the room and just stood by the door with his hands behind his back and said a few words only. To make matters worse, his English was poor and he was difficult to understand. He went nowhere near my son, who was the patient, and did not even attempt to do any kind of physical exam on him at all. Couldn’t even walk up to his face to talk to him as a person or provide any reassurance at all. I’m curious to see what my son is going to be charged from a “doctor” who didn’t even put a stethoscope to him or look in his eyes. As the saying goes, “someone has to graduate at the bottom of the class, even in medical school!”Give that nurse a raise though!
