I love the Mercantile in Albion. It has the freshest food and the best sweets. I only get to Albion a couple times a year and I love the sweets so much, I have them shipped when I can’t get there to buy them. I highly recommend the chocolate covered anything! Great find in downtown Albion. This store, not far from Albion College, has a great mix of necessities and other maybe not necessities (candy, wine, etc). The store is reminiscent of an old time general store in it’s full high quality product range.

I love this little store. I would recommend a couple things though. One consider having some of the foundry bread pre-sliced as some might want to have a sandwich in their car. Also I would consider maybe one or two small shopping carts for older customers. Carrying the little basket can get heavy with even a few items and they tire easily and might shop longer if they didn't have to carry a basket and a putse.

Wow. Their milk is priced right, no more dollar general after work. The produce is fresh. The selection of adult beverages and grocery items is perfect! And when we walked in we were greeted with a smile from the clerk stocking the shelves. Great atmosphere to shop in downtown Albion.

Friendly staff, great produce, and I literally found everything I needed to get dinner done and pick up some odds and ends. Their alcohol selection is the best in town. I know I will continue to shop there.

The Mercantile has a great selection of produce (keeps longer than most stores!), wine/beer and snacks. Its a great place for college kids too, easy walk from campus.Great employers too!

I've visited multiple times on my way through the area and I'm always impressed by their selection of local and regional food! A really nice range of alcohol as well. An added bonus, they have a super knowledgeable and friendly staff! I'll definitely be back!!
