We recently purchased a vehicle here and were treated so kindly, as we always have been for past car repairs! We absolutely love our new car, but a little over a week after purchase, something started to go awry with the rear driver's side wheel. On my way home from work, I noticed the metal grinding sound coming from the rear wheel became far worse out of seemingly nowhere.
Out of fear of it potentially being unsafe to drive all the way home, I brought it straight to Sunoco with only 30 minutes before the shop closes up for the day. I was hoping they would be able to just double check if it were safe and what might be going on, but I would have been understanding if they did not have time to help that evening. But without hesitation, the mechanic drove it and brought it in to check it out. He did what he could with the little time he had to improve the condition and at least ensure it was safe to drive. He then generously squeezed me in for a next day appointment to take a closer look and get it taken care of as soon as possible.
The next morning I dropped it off, and upon them getting a closer look, they discovered that the shop I brought it to for an inspection didn't properly disengage the parking brake before giving it back, which wore out the parts and ultimately created the problem.
Although I saw that the issue was not technically under warranty due to the fact that the damage was caused post-purchase and was not at all damaged prior to the sale and their own inspection, Scott was insanely kind enough to insist on taking care of the issue free of charge and include it under warranty for us. I was originally planning on saving up for the repairs down the line, but he did not want me driving around without an E-brake and would rather take care of the problem before returning it to me.
I could not be more grateful and appreciative for the kindness and honesty from this shop, Scott, and the mechanics. Station Ave Sunoco is an amazing small business and a reliable, trustworthy source for repairs and car purchases.
Thank you so much to everyone at the shop! You're the best!!

*****Consumer Beware*****
I'm quite disappointed in the integrity of this business, which wasn't my view prior to today. I had a slow leak and the tech said it was my stem. Terry inside kept saying 'sensor'. I explained that the sensor light shuts off when the tire is filled. Long story short.. Terry was trying to overcharge me for a sensor and post for my slow leak and quoted me $129.00!!! I could buy a new tire for that ? I left there and took my key back and drove to Town Fair in Hyannis. An hour later, I paid $13.23. I tried calling Station Ave Service back but Terry answered, waited a second and hung up. I called right back and the tech answered saying she stepped out. How convenient. She knew what she was doing ? untrustworthy rip off!

I'm writing this review as a PSA to people in this community to avoid this auto repair shop.Scott likes to think that he's a running a big name dealership, and that he's in the professional services business for billable time. He's also dishonest, does poor quality work, will not warranty the jobs that he does, and will not work with his customers to find reasonable resolutions to their problems and concerns.I have had a 4+ year history of using this shop for my auto repair needs.I have had them do work on my Cadillac and 2 different Nissan pickup trucks. I've spent over $14k over the last 4 years on repair services.Scott has a propensity to REPLACE things vs. FIX them. When my truck needed suspension maintenance, I was informed that everything needed to be replaced - all shocks and struts and related components. $2200When my brakes needed service, instead of fixing them, I was told that all of my entire brake system including calipers, rotors, pads, etc. had to be replaced. $2800.When my pickup truck clutch started to fail, I was told that the entire clutch, pressure plate, master cylinder, etc. needed to be replaced. $3k.This was the turning point in our relationship. You see, the problem with a guy like Scott is that replacing systems is highly profitable work. But when it comes to repairing highly complex mechanical system like a clutch, he's not an experienced mechanic with these areas. But I didn't find that out until later. The truck worked fine for the first month, and progressively got worse. It whined incessantly, and degraded rapidly. After 6 months the clutch had failed completely. It's been like this for the last year.I called repeatedly over the first 6 months, asking for assistance and hoping that he'd take an interest in ensuring my investment was working properly. I even went by their shop several times with the truck hoping that Scott would take a moment to look at the vehicle.Scott's standard reply is to 'make an appointment' and the underlying theme with him is he's happy to take your money but has no time to service his work. Each time I'm told that I'll be paying a fee for the evaluation. I'm not ok with that.Scott is notorious for charging for every appointment. I didn't feel as though I wanted to spend $165 for him to evaluate his own failed work. I don't have time to continually drop off the truck, arrange for transportation and wait several days for a response.Fast forward, and I must have the truck repaired due to its relationship with my boat.I have the truck looked at by a different shop that was recommended to me. They do not have kind things to say about the quality of work, and imply dishonest and/or incompetent work.I took the truck back to Scott thinking that he'd be a stand up guy and work something out with me. I waited a week for a reply.Instead of having a conversation with me directly as a long time customer who has done a substantial amount of business with him, Scott had his mom deliver the bad news. His mother is Grade A jerk. Might be most unpleasant person on the planet.I was informed by Scott's mother that they were not going to warranty their work, that too much time had passed, that I'd made multiple appointments and no-showed, and that I hadn't informed them of this problem previously. She then quoted me $2700 to fix the same clutch that I just had them repair a year ago. There aren't enough bad things that I can say about this situation, so I'll stop there. The notion that I'm going to pay Scott twice for the same job after the first one failed is ludicrous. I'll pay someone, but it won't be him.It goes without saying that this is the end of my business relationship with Station Ave Sunoco. This shop displays terrible business ethics, does poor quality work, overcharges for their services, does not stand behind their work and will not work with their customers to find equitable resolutions.AVOID.

Fast forward, and I have to have the truck repaired due to its relationship with my boat. I have the truck looked at by a different shop that was recommended to me. The new shop did the evaluation by putting a scope up in the clutch housing to visually inspect the internals. The new shops says that the clutch was completely destroyed, doesn't look like a year old clutch, and shouldn't have failed after 5k miles (regardless of time). The new shop was reluctant to disparage another local mechanic, but said that to the best of their experience, it didn't look like the internal parts had been replaced, but wouldn't know until it was apart. Minimally it wasn't installed properly, and in the worst case I was outright scammed and the plate and other internals were never replaced. They asked me if I was provided the damaged parts or reviewed those damaged parts when the job was complete. I have never had that opportunity. This new shop also said that any reputable mechanic should stand behind their work, regardless of timeframe. They also told me that I was grossly overcharged for the work by almost 100%. I took the truck back to Scott thinking that he'd be a stand up guy and work something out with me. The guy that I spoke with (not Scott) who took the truck in when I dropped it off was very surprised and seemed genuinely interested in resolving the issue. I waited a week for a reply. Instead of talking to me directly, Scott had his mom deliver the bad news. His mother is Grade A jerk. Might be most unpleasant person

We have taken our cars to the Station Avenue Sunoco for about 10 years. My family has bought 3 cars from Scott and they have all been, and still are, very good vehicles. We have always, without exception, been treated respectfully and the work has always been good. The mechanics have been helpful and explained things thoroughly. Terry, at the desk is wonderful...kind, friendly knowledgeable and very helpful. During the pandemic, they worked very hard to get parts for my VW that were hard to find. Scott is, I think, a good man, an excellent mechanic and more than fair. I have sent people to them and have never heard any complaints but lots of praise.

I called them and asked for a price on replacement of the catalytic converter. The lady(mom) said bring it in and well take a look and get you a price. So I drove over and guy took my keys and I waited. Guy (scott) then said $1500 for cat conv and you owe us 120$ now. I said I just wanted a price not a diagnostic. He said just pay the money. Then I said the lady should have told me that on the phone since I already knew the problem and just needed a price, He (scott) was beligerant and said if you dont pay the money this german shepard is going to attack you. I said it better not. I made the conclusion they would not give me my keys so I had to pay. Once I did they still wouldnt give me my keys. Then another guy got right behind me in a threatening manner. I demanded my keys after I paid. I will never go there again and dont recommend this type of station to anyone. Be careful.

Beware! Bringing your car to this place can be hazardous to your wallet. They will find all sorts of problems with your car that you didn't ask to be looked at, which they will gladly fix for a very steep fee. If you don't agree to their exoribtant prices they will charge a "diagnostic fee" just to get your car back. I call that ransom. I paid $120 for literally nothing.

If they had negative stars then that's what I'd give them. Very shady business. If you're a woman, do not go by yourself please bring a man who knows a little something about cars with you so you don't get hassled and ripped off. Took almost twenty minutes to get a simple receipt. Was told three times there was not going to be a charge for checking the issues with car (no work done) only to be told when picking up that it was going to be $120 just to get the car back. Car ran worse after picking up, do not sure what was actually done to car while in their possession. Had to go somewhere else to get it looked at and told the other place what happened and they were just as bewildered as I was about how the situation was handled. Poor customer service.
