Good quality blood here. They used to accept walk-ins. A little late stage capitalism putting the squeeze on everyone. Check out the American Red Cross' CEO pay and allegations of corruption.

My grievance isn't with the staff I encountered there. The red cross will call my phone every day looking for blood as soon as I become eligible again. But... they canceled my appointment, never called, sent an email that went to my junk folder. I didn't accept an overtime detail in order to donate (that cost me $450). I drove 35 minutes each way as well!! If there was someone else who took blood I'd start using them!!!

Wasting 2hours there, because the lady decided that I’m not eligible to donate blood for three years and she wrote it down on the system, because I traveled out of the state to a country that never been a high risk for Malaria.. she could just check the CDC website before she take this decision… after I called the RedCross they submitted a correction and been surprised why that lady does this… ??!

Extremely disorganized. Never follows through on appointments made in advance. Don't waste your time or money with this place until they get their stuff together. Very disappointed.

Drove half an hour to donate here, showed up and was told they had cancelled my appointment. No email, no call. I understand with COVID the need to take precaution, but there was NO ONE in the donation center donating. DO NOT send me a million and one emails asking me to donate and then cancel my appointment on a whim without telling me. Absolutely unprofessional and infuriating. I will NEVER be donating at this location again.

I want to give a good review but my patience has again been tested. On 11/6, I made donation. It was a good. On 12/5, I negotiated the rain storm from Cumberland RI to the pheresis center. During interview, I stated need for position change because donating 3 units takes time. Setting up the machine involves time, adding time in the chair. After 80 minutes, I became extremely uncomfortable. When someone finally meandered my way, I was becoming furious. Before moving to this area, I was involved with the Apherisis Center, Farmington, Connecticut. I never had these problems there and they got a lot of units from me. Leaving a guy my age in a static position for 120 minutes without position adjustment or at least a timely offer can be described as disrespectful and cruel.

I donated platelets here yesterday and honestly have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. I don't usually leave reviews, but everyone was so nice that I feel like I need to get the word out. I had never donated platelets before (only whole blood) and toward the end started feeling really woozy and nauseous. The staff were so quick, responsive, and sweet about helping me feel better. They were also very attentive throughout the whole process, making sure I was doing okay and getting me blankets when I got cold, and making sure I stayed for a little while after so that it would be safe for me to drive home. They also have Netflix set up on individual TVs (with headphones) for people who are donating platelets, which was great since the process takes a while. Literally every employee I encountered was so friendly and kind. Even though the donation itself felt kind of crappy in my case, I will be happy to go back and do it again knowing I am in such great hands!

Seems blood donor services are forever lamenting they can't get enough donors. Or supply of Type O is running low. Now donation is "by appointment only". I would understand if it was something like a community drive hosted in honor of a particular patient, & these generally take place in venues like churches. However, it isn't as if donors are present by the dozen in the donation center in Worcester, and they reject those without an appointment. Fine. Just don't make an impassioned plea to je that supplies are running low & nobody will come in to donate. Seems to me Governor Baker spent months giving the middle finger to small businesses in particular. Now some are content to give it to themselves through very restrictive terms of business.

The staff at this location are incredible! I had a bad reaction to the citrate yesterday and I could not be more appreciative to the staff who were immediately at my side helping me.

Lays off 52 blood drive workers Nov. 8 2019..., yet likes to send constant alerts and phone calls about CRITICAL need for blood. I used to be a donor to the red cross, I will donate somewhere else now.
