Good place to visit if you're looking For some things. Doesn't matter if it's clothes or furniture you're searching for they always seem to have it.

I just got back from visiting the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Worcester....I'd been waiting to go there for months, due to the covid situation, so I figured by now it might be safer. I have to say that I was not only disappointed, but shocked! They've got quite a gig going on there.....prices like $9.99, $12.99, and up!! This is not the Sal.Army thrift shop I used to know there! Finally, I asked one of the workers if the tag was correct....very high price for a blouse that would ordinarily have gone for maybe $5.00 when I used to shop there. She told me that the blue tags were half price....ok, so that meant I would be paying about $6.00. The deal is, they jack up the prices way out of reason, so that they can do better when they have the half-off sales...so, in reality, the half-price you might pay is really what you would have paid awhile back. So, from now on, I won't be going there....since the store in Northbridge was closed, that leaves Woonsocket. Hopefully they have not gotten greedy there, too!

Probably my favorite thrift store in the area! This place is absolutely massive so you can easily spend a few hours picking through their stuff. I love that they always have a few color tags 50% or prices to $0.99! They also don't do block pricing which is nice. Staff is nice and there's plenty of parking.

ONE STAR!!!!!First of all online it says it closes at 7 and it closes at 6I walked in at 5:53 and they said they were closed. This was my first time there and I was highly dissatisfied. I will definitely give my money to some other place that deserves it.

It is genuinely disappointing that this thrift store has turned into such an overpriced, and poorly managed business. I work in Worcester and have been stopping in here every day for the past 2 years, and what was once a diamond in the rough oa now a turd among turds. Stained and tattered sweatshirts are $7-$9, smelly jackets are $25-$30, and ripped jeans (not the fancy rips done during manufactoring) are $9+. This community is not one of privelage or wealth, yet all of these items that are given to the Salvation Army for free and then overpriced when they hit the sales floor. I often see workers putting things aside for themselves, and pricing items for each other at rates much less than what they would be put out for. I could go on forever with how disappointed I am, but instead I think I will no longer continue to patronize this business running under the guise of "charity".

This salvation army don't even deserve 1 star! elizabeth a cashier from there is very RUDE and racist! Be careful not to let a tag off from clothes you are going to purchase. Even if it falls right on the floor by the cashier in front of their eyes!

It's unfortunate that what was once a reputable organization has become deplorable. In an effort to donate furniture and hardcopy books for other to enjoy, I was faced with incompetence from the start. I've wasted a day of vacation waiting for the truck to pick up my items. They provided me with a 8-3pm window, and refused to get that down to even a 2 hour window. After waiting for them all day, have placed 6 calls to the Worcester MA store, only to hear 'well the dispatcher has left for the day, and we don't know how to reach the drivers'. Multiple times I was sent to dead end voice mail boxes, and despite asking to speak to a manager, who also was 'gone for the day', the operator hung up on me. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Disgusted.

The Salvation Army has some of the kindest and most helpful people working there. Whether or not I leave with the item I was looking for I am always satisfied at the end of my visit. I recommend to all people who are either wanting to donate or just looking to purchase used goods to try the Salvation Army.

Eh, ok location. Donation area is alway a disaster it seems but recently (like this past year) its been getting better. Inside isn’t totally well organized but it’s fine for what it is.

Giving a higher rating than previously as the prices seem to be better lately. However, still can't give 5 stars because the "customer service" at the check out is definitely lacking. One woman in particular..

This place was dirty, smelled like an ashtray, and the items were so over priced it was ridiculous!

This used to be a jewel of low cost alternatives to retail settings. In the last year or two, new management or whatever it's called has taken over and begun thinking they have a retail store with ALL the typical overhead that this suggests. I'm aware that there's a program to support (more about that later) and overhead, but may I remind you that these are ALL donated goods? There are some very reasonable deals to be found, but as time progresses, I'm seeing higher and higher and higher prices.... quickly approaching "nose bleed"- there's a Victrola that's been there for a year in rough shape... I mean rough! The piano hinge is sheared off, and it's not even the original hinge. The price tag? $1000! Are you kidding me? The greed is becoming ever more evident. I was actually told by a supervisor that the new head honcho stated at one time, " people pay 50$ for a pair of jeans, so if we sell them for 30$ it's still a deal"... yeah if they were new..... but their used.... and donated. So about the program- I know that this is an awesome program that helps those that need the help. My issue? On 2 occasions I've seen people in the retail store with 2 full carts of clothes, who were obviously still under the influence of narcotics- "nodding out"- who were advertising that they were in the program and using vouchers. This seems like a bit generous. But I don't think that this is the major contribution to the ridiculous pricing of some items. I invite you to look online at the top 5% management of the local chapter's salaries. As a not-for-profit... it's readily available online.

A l***** Sad that all I ever see in there is stuff I wouldn't even put in a yard sale! Also they are plagued by idiots who drop off their trash at the donation bins. Sorry situation.
