UPDATE: I have received a few emails from Kevin M, the ReStore Director, regarding this issue. He REFUSES to acknowledge that this 'arrangement' to siphon off the best merchandise to enrich a single reseller has ended, so it seemingly continues with the blessing of the Habitat for Humanity upper management. This is a highly unfair business practice and I don't recommend anyone looking for quality furniture to bother visiting this store, as it apparently gets claimed off the truck with impunity. He instead said that they will continue to enforce existing store policy that nobody is allowed in the back room, as if that is the slightest bit helpful in this instance.
ORIGINAL POST: I tried to purchase a dresser here yesterday that was on the loading dock, was told by THE STORE MANAGER that it wasn’t for sale because a reseller named Gary has “an arrangement” with the pickup driver to have first dibs on any mid century furniture that comes into the store.
So basically a reseller is paying off a delivery driver to get first dibs, and all of it is seemingly a-ok with the store management, I was told “because he’s our best driver”. This is utter nonsense and complete disservice to the organization and the community it serves, only serving to benefit one specific dealer who’s paying off a guy.
Shame on habitat for humanity and this restore for allowing this corrupt behavior. I emailed upper management about this issue and await a reply.

Great finds but was very irritated at the queue process. We were next at our register but an associate opened another lane and asked to take whoever was available. We went around our register to go over and at the same time another customer strolled up. The associate took the other person and said we just cut them. Just irritating because now the queue we were originally in is now long gone.

I have shopped here for a while now and have found items with no price tags on them and they gladly priced them at the cash register with no problem. Today, the same Manager Gary YELLED at me , at the register for having an item with no price on it and proceeded to say “ enough of this. I just priced this item yesterday .No price no sale” and took the item from cashier. Not sure if this is a store policy or he just took one look at me and decided he wasn’t gonna let me buy it. So embarrassing and unprofessional conduct coming from a manager!!!!

You can buy much better quality furniture in better condition for way less on Facebook marketplace. I thought they are supposed to be helping those less fortunate .

Love this place. You can find such a wide array of things here and the best part is if you can't find it today come back on a different day and they have a whole new batch of things!

All the usual ReStore standby items like doors, windows, furniture both new and loved, and home decor and repair items. Also an excellent selection of housewares and some sports/outdoor equipment. Great pricing, no trash!

As first time homeowner we quickly learned furnishing a home is very expensive. Instead of buying new furniture we look for more thrifty options and have become regulars at Habitat for Humanity. Over the past year or so we required an eclectic bunch of pieces of furniture for our home from here. Each time we go into the shop, there's always new inventory. We've been very pleased with the quality of pieces and prices at which they are offered. We found that Saturday mornings tend to be a great day to peruse the shop. Bringing a cup of coffee and looking around for pieces we need whether those are chairs, mirrors, desks etc had become one of our favorite weekend activities. Recently, we also learned they sell refurbished paint for super cheap! We use this to paint the interior of our garage, but you're in the whole place new. If you need a few pieces of furniture and are balling on a budget, definitely check out the great pieces and people at Habitat for hHmanity here in Worcester.

You guys need to stop leaving open paint cans outside. Bad for the environment especially on rainy days like today with paint streaming down the road.

The place is really junky and gross, and the furniture is way over priced. Isn't this supposed to help people in need furnish their homes? So why charge $50-70 on bad furniture?
