The teachers are fabulous. Prior to joining the Y I went to a boutique gym that was three times more expensive than the Y and yet the teachers did not match the teachers at the Y. One example, at that gym all teachers were screaming all class long to cover the very high volume of the music. It was an unbearable cacophony that left me mentally exhausted. It was far from rewarding. When I tried to ask them to speak less over the music (since we were imitating their body movements anyway) they seemed very offended. I noticed that at the Y none of the teachers are in the bad habit of screaming during class, they respect the music, and let their bodies teach us the Zumba steps. I am highly recommending the Y. My only regret is that I did not join sooner!

I love the many adventures that the children in the voyagers program go on and the swimming that takes place to end a long fun filled week on Fridays with a pizza party celebration with a fun theme. I love the real raw camp experience and the comfortable atmosphere when I pick up and drop off my daughter. It's a very focused and organized team of counselors and staff. Thank you and may God Bless you all for all that you do!!

I've loved the baby swim lessons with instructor Kevin at the YMCA. They are so well-structured. Kevin was very thoughtful with explaining all the parts of each class — like giving baby permission to enter the water at the beginning, or encouraging them to stretch their arms out by reaching for toys. I'll definitely sign up for another.

So if anyone is interested in signing up for a membership here, please think again. I made the mistake by joining this club but I’m glad that the membership allows you to go to other locations (one good perk). The staff seriously need an attitude check and lacks in all overall professionalism.
The moment they hear any language barriers or assistances with financials, they immediately become cold. I would say not just from DAY ONE but EVERY SINGLE TIME I went, I had horrible service. I just feel like every one who works there hates their job or they just flat out racist. Asking about babysitting or summer camps was such a hassle for them to explain. Here’s an example. If I ask where the sauna room is but I pronounced it differently, just try to understand. “Sah-nah” vs. “sa-oo-na”, CLEARLY I’m asking about the sauna, but instead I get a response like “I don’t know what you’re talking about, can’t understand.” Another example, I go use the pool with my son and after several minutes, we get yelled at to get out. “Get out! You gotta leave! Out! Out!” Ok, I get that sometimes the pool can be used for cleaning, maintenance or lessons. But I was given no explanation and was asked to leave. Find out later that even when it says “open swim” doesn’t mean it’s opened. If there is no lifeguard present, then no one is allowed, which I totally get. But again, nothing was explained or any printed notice.
So for those you want to swim at YMCA Woburn, the only open swim time is Sundays and opened for one hour due to lack of lifeguards. The regulars that have been going there may have it different but for anyone new signing up or those who are minorities, good luck. Go to a different Y.

I needed a facility where I could work out at my own pace and have the option of classes to strengthen my muscles and my general well being. The Y has offered all of this, the instructors are wonderful and I have met the nicest people. The classes are geared to each person's level and I enjoy the support and motivation they offer. I wish I was able to join sooner!

This is a great gym with some caveats. The swimming pool department is pretty good and managed by great lifeguards, especially one young man named Kevin who is very diligent with his lifeguard duties. He really makes sure that everyone is safe while they are in that pool. With the same breath, I can't say much good about the Badminton playing that I participate in once a week. There are some 20 players playing that game but management is totally oblivious to the fact that we are not provided with decent professional badminton nets but cheap backyard nets. Some twenty people petitioned for the nets but we hear nothing but silence from management. Not sure what the issue is? One of our good nets has been missing for one month and people are not very interested in playing the game. This attitude is simply beyond me but I hope management does something before we lose more people playing that game.
