BETTY-THE EMERGENCY NURSE ,SEEMS LIKE SHE HATES SPANISH PEOPLE , she was very harsh on me and didn’t talk to me at all , I could feel her hate . She also open the curtains , not even asking if I was finished getting dressed . Everyone else was super kind and helpful . I was waiting for a survey on the mail but never received one .

I sat in the emergency room for four hours with a severely split open head. I couldn’t wait any longer and left with my head still split open.

Came in at 3 am in the morning... service was good and they figured out what I had. Spent less than 6 hours from check in to discharge.

Horrible place!!! I took wife to emergency room. The Hospital is VERY OLD and all worn out. The nursing stretchers were all broken and in very poor condition, the medical and nursing care was VERY BAD, and to make matters worse, the doctor charged us $125 and then the Hospital sent us an invoice with another $500!!! (Of course they charged much more, but those charges were just “patient to pay”)Horrible place! Please stay away from this Hospital!!

Not good. The labor and delivery nurse was phenomenal but after we were moved into the mother baby unit, it was horrific. It was mid December and the AC kept turning on in the room. There was a thermostat in the room and after we were trying to turn it off, nothing worked. The nurses had to call the technician maybe 5 or more times before he got there. And it took almost 7 hours. We spent the whole night with the AC working and we were all freezing. Thankfully I packed plenty of warm clothes for my newborn. Never again.

I went to Winchestwr for the first time yesterday and was impressed. Hector did a blood draw, getting it the first try and I never even felt it. (Unusual for me) There was virtually no wait and everyone was very friendly.

Don’t go there, ER wait time is so bad that you’ll end up feeling better by the time they see you

Six years ago, I shared my experience in Winchester Hospital ER. Six years later, I would like to share again. On Jan 4, 2024, I got a car accident that led to my high blood pressure and fast heart rate. I was brought to Winchester Hospital ER for further evaluation. The nurse told me she would take my blood pressure and do EKG that was very appropriate. Unfortunately the blood pressure machine was brought in by the nurse was dead and there was no power cord with it. The nurse went out and grabbed the 2nd blood pressure machine. Unfortuantely the 2nd blood pressure machine was dead too. Luckily there was a power cord connencted to the 2nd blood pressure machine. The nurse plugged it in for a few minutes and took my blood pressure. Unfortunately the EKG the nurse did did show some abnomalities. However, I did not want to stay longer rather to follow up with PCP. In addition, I was placed in the area with “Do not block.”What if I developed cardiac arrest? Should ER nurses be ready for patients? Nobody comes to the ER for nothing. The patient is in a panic mood. There are so many ways in which nurses can help the patients. Hopefully this will not happen to other patients again

Absolutely horrific. My wife was screaming in absolutely agony and it was impossible to get a nurse to respond and when she finally came she was belligerent at best.

I’m currently 9 months pregnant and thought I was in labor (severe back pain, cramping, and intense pressure) so I (even though I’ve been assigned to a different hospital) came here as my boyfriend had his appendix surgery here and had a great experience and wanted me to come here. This was NOT my experience. I was met with rude people that tried to turn me away from the second I walked in. Registration wouldn’t let me on the floor for a solid half hour saying I needed to have permission from my DR to be there, we ended up getting management involved because it turned into a screaming match between my MIL, her and transport ( they were on our side) to get me seen. I mean come on, I thought I was in labor and you’re just gonna try to turn me away? Once I got up to the floor I started getting seen immediately and thought registration was just a speed bump and behind us but I was wrong. Before I even begin on the next part I want to quickly say that their labor and delivery rooms are absolutely freezing (probably at 50 degrees) dirty, dusty, and broken, literally being held together by duck tape. Absolutely disgusting!!! And you let people have babies in this clearly non sterile environment? Please see pictures attached. Anyways the nurse hooked me up to the NST machine and we waited for the DR. The DR came in about a half hour later and instead of greeting me and asking questions she instead lectured me about how I shouldn’t have come because they don’t have my files and that she would now have to request them. So sorry for making you do work lady!!! After she got done lecturing me she checked me and told me my cervix was still closed but she would order me an ultrasound to make sure the baby was ok and that she wasn’t going to do anything for my pain if I wasn’t in labor, not even a Tylenol and again reminded me I shouldn’t of came to them. 4 hours then passed without another check in or the ultrasound. So I discharged myself and went to Melrose Wakefield (the one I’m assigned to) and was seen instantly as well as given a diagnosis within an hour. Kidney infection, kidney stones and a UTI. So thanks for literally nothing Winchester. Thanks for not taking my pain seriously, or even caring about me or my babies safety and health.
