Rachel did the flowers for our wedding and she did a fantastic job. I live out of state, and she took our phone conversation, where I explained my lack of vision, what I liked, didn't like, concerns I had with a winter wedding, and she ran with it- and absolutely knocked it out of the park. I was SO thrilled with her work, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend :)

I'm a Photographer and Mahoney's had done the florals at a styled shoot I worked at. They were so beautiful that I decided to contact Rachel there when I was looking for arrangements for my studio. I showed Rachel some inspo photos and we talked about what I was looking for. The 2 pieces she made came out absolutely perfect. They are the perfect addition to my cozy bed installment in my studio. The price was fantastic and Rachel was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend!

To me, the best nursery in the area. They have a very good selection of plants, from natives to non natives, and it's uncommon for me to go there and don't buy anything. It's a little on the expensive side, but the quality of their plants so far has been exceptional.

I have spent a few hundred dollars every year at Mahoney’s over the last several years at multiple of their locations and have been decently satisfied, though their register employees are always disinterested and disingenuous at the Winchester location.I drove 1 1/2 hours from Providence RI because Mahoney’s has such a great collection of rare plants that I enjoy looking through and purchasing. This experience, I arrived at 6:03 pm, when they close at 7pm and the front register employee informed me that they closed at 6 due to weather. It’s December, it’s 43 degrees, and it’s raining… welcome to New England. I understand the safety of staff getting home after shift, but the low was 40 for this evening so there was no risk of sleet/slush/ice/ect. Moreover, I had just driven for the past 90 minutes in the exact weather they were closing early for with no problem. While they said they posted this change on their social media, google had no way of updating and the onus should not be on the patron to check every source to see if a business is open for their regularly posted hours.I will say I had a great experience buying a Christmas tree from the Mahoney’s in Allston just 1 day before this. Just very disappointed that this happened at my favorite location.

The garden is huge and has a wonderful variety of items and plants to choose from. But, I’ve been coming here lately to get floral arrangements and bouquets for small events and I’m completely dissatisfied and disappointed. They throw in the most terrible looking flowers into your arrangements and then charge a fortune for it. Last Friday I got one for myself, it looked nice at simple look, but when I arrived home and took it out of the plastic wrap to arrange in a vessel, I was shocked with the quality of the roses. It is something that you cannot unsee. I ended up throwing away 5 of the roses and tried fixing the arrangement with what I had and some crowning glory. Why would the florist do this? No idea! For more that I enjoyed coming here to get last minute flowers (because they do have a gorgeous selection), after this repeated experience I will be going somewhere else.

Very large garden store in Winchester. I came today for perennials but they also have herbs annuals and indoor plants, shrubs and trees, every manner of pots, fertilizer, and florist. Plants are well tended. Friendly staff.

Great place to purchase all your gardening needs. Everything looks healthy unlike big box stores.I purchased sod from them. I only needed 1/2 a pallet so I ordered it in person at their store and picked it up the following day. I happen to own a truck. I would recommend getting it delivered if you need a pallet or more, or hiring it to be done if you are not one for gardening/yard work. I was only doing a small area, about 230 sq. ft. Hence, hiring out wouldn’t be cost effective due to being a small area. I would of ended up paying a lot more per square foot if I hired professionals. The below pictures are the before and after. It’s been about 3 weeks and it’s looking good. Instant grass, can’t beat that…Although, I’m a flower gardener so I’m always trying to lessen the amount of grass. Grass is a lot of work to maintain and I don’t get the enjoyment from doing it as I do when working in my garden. It’s just boring, green. I like to have different plants, trees, and shrubs. My backyard grass is a mess of weeds and burnt spots from having a dog. If it were up to me and money wasn’t an object, I would go without a backyard lawn and have a patio, fire pit, small rectangular pool that appears to be in ground but isn’t and pathways to different areas. Oh, and a course shrubs, flowers, and small trees. JUST NO GRASS…

I bought a Dracaena Lisa in May 2022 from the sale section for $100. With soil and planter I spent $170 in total. A few months later I noticed that the plant had pests. I got really upset because the decent thing would have been letting me know that the reason it was on sale was because it was infected with pests. I had a mind to leave a review and share my experience but I decided to give them a chance so I left a Google question for them instead but I received no response. It is now June 2023 and my plant is suffering from its fourth bouts of pests. The reason I am leaving this review now is that two days ago I noticed that the pests are transmitted to my Dracaena Fragrans (Corn Plant).A few months ago it crossed my mind to take a friend of mine to their store because it was beautiful (the reason I’m giving them two stars and not one) but I decided against it because from what I have experienced they are not a respectable business.

Great location with a huge selection of plants from herbs to annuals to perennials to house plant, containers, soil, etc. Hugh car parks l, even though it's very busy I can always find a parking spot. I often drive out here from Somerville. Services are also good, they packed up the plants so they don't get crushed during the ride home.

Mahoney's offers an incredibly large selection of plants and garden supplies. If you're looking for something unusual they will probably have it. Just be aware that they are not priced like Home Depot or Lowe's. They offer high quality plants but are also very expensive.
