Been in several times and not going to waste my time again.
They're slow. They're like flies swimming in pudding slow. Hope you like standing in line.
But don't worry once it's your turn you can experience the complete absence of customer service. This is more of a "What do you want now" kind of place.
Ace is the helpful place - to your wallet with their high prices.
Save the frustration, go to the big box store.

I want to share an overall positive experience I had with the shop and the shop owner, Dan. They had mistakenly delivered an incorrect model of lawnmower than what I purchased (they look almost identical, but have different specs), and I discovered this after using it once and installing an hour meter on it. I called and spoke to Dan, the owner, and explained the situation, hoping to make an exchange but fully expecting being told to pound sand. He promptly apologized, and after coming to an understanding, went to check if they had the correct model in stock for an exchange. He confirmed that they had the right model and proceeding to schedule a delivery and assembly. Within 24 hours, I received the correct model lawnmower. Thanks, Dan, for your great customer service.

Dan at ACE hardware has excellent customer service. I wanted to order a shed, and he helped me over the phone to get it delivered to this location in 2 days. Then he was nice enough to deliver it from ACE to my house. If I had opted to get it delivered straight to my house from an online order from ACE, the shipping would have been over $200, and would have taken longer.Every time I go in there they are always eager to answer questions and help decide what to get.Love this place. Support your local hardware store!

Don't stop here. In today's business climate, when I can choose between online shopping or better value from a big box store, you would think this small business would bend over backwards to provide exceptional customer service. But, no. This Ace location refused a product return, purchased within two weeks, and then lied about the condition of the product when Ace corporate got involved. The packaging was open but the item, a chainsaw blade, was unused. The clerk informed me she could not resell a product with open packaging, but informed corporate customer service that the product showed signs of use. If your looking for the, Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folk, it's certainly not at this one. Keep driving to Conner's in Billerica or Rocky's in North Andover. Fortunately for me Ace Corporate refunded my purchase price.
