Although I did not work here, I wanted to share my interview experience with a corporate online rep and the staff at various NIH buildings. They told me they did not hire me for an Animal Technician Position because I did not have experience with ONE type of blood collection technique and because I told them I didn't receive negative constructive criticism in past jobs. So I can see why they are having trouble keeping staff in these positions!!!!! Charles Rivers, you better talk to your staff!I have 20+ years of experience in the field and am LATG certified. They were not willing to show me ONE blood collection technique??? Ridiculous! Isn't that what job training is for? And it took four people in a virtual interview one hour of my time. Truthfully I was fed up with the amount of questions they asked as if I were trying to join a secret society. In a nutshell, I'm not upset at all. I am employed and was exploring opportunities so no sweat off my back except a waste of my time creating an account to apply, filling out the application, and an hour wasted. I was told you were up for a possible contract renewal. If your corporate rep actually had good sense and experience, she would have secured me as an additional resource to add strength to your team for the contract renewal.

They research not only on dogs but on many other animals. You can find their annual reports to the U.S. Department of Agriculture under certificate number 14-R-0144 here: Attached are the animal numbers for 2022.

This company supports bleeding hermit crabs and threatens their populations in Massachusetts waters. There is a synthetic available that they should invest in instead of harvesting crabs which is a horrific and cruel means to make a profit. Terrible ethics this company has.

They torture and experiment on innocent dogs. This place needs to be shut down. They have a whole experimental area just for beagles. Dogs are angels. They don't deserve to be experimented on.

Disgusting facility who tests on the most dogs in the entire country. Over 9000 dogs a year. Go to the humane society to educate.

You just lost a customers thanks to the receptionist/operator who answers the phone. When asked to transfer me to a relevant department, she simply replied "I just know people's names and their extensions." before hanging up on me. I think they need to a better screening/training process for their staff.

Can I give a no star review? The animal experimentation done at this house of horrors lab is shameful. Animals are tazed, abused, and neglected. They are not EVER available for adoption once they are no longer of use. They are always killed. Beagles, monkeys, mice, rats, rabbits, horses, cows, pigs, etc. are used, abused and killed. The Beagle Freedom Project , a nonprofit that rescues beagles from laboratories, has been trying for years to persuade Charles River to allow them to rehabilitate these dogs and find them forever homes. The lab refuses saying that the dogs aren't socialized or shown any affection and therefore wouldn't make suitable pets. These dogs never see the sun, or walk on grass, or feel love or affection. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY!! If you go to Change.org and search Charles River Labs you will find a petition addressed to the CEO asking him to allow these animals to be sent to rescues or sanctuaries once they are no longer of use. Please contact Charles River and let them know that the public is aware of the abuse and we want changes made.

My daughter is a college student and was looking for summer work. After 3 weeks of being given the run around they got her a job at Charles River Laboratories in Wilmington for the summer. After 6 days of work Intergrated Resources called her and said she was terminated because of over staffing. Disgusting how they treated her!

At Charles River Laboratories—one of the largest labs in the country—a monkey was scalded to death when her cage was run through a high-temperature cage washer while she was still locked inside. Enjoy your day!!
