Well…this was an utterly unexpected delight.
The parking is vast and the campus is quiet. Sadly there is no elevator, so I had to pull my walker up the stairs (hope the place becomes accessible soon).
I was enthralled with the stories of the Confederate postage history (never had I heard this, and it really cements the gravity of secation, that the Confederate states even had their own postal service!
I also really enjoyed the section on the history of LGBTQ rights, and am eager to see the day when the United States has a Stamp redeeming the Pink Triangle. Liberty and Justice for All.
Brian was incredibly insightful and we even found some special Olympics stamps, which I was eager to see as a thematic addition to the wall (disability in the us through stamps. There are enough stamps, including ones about mental illness and wheelchairs and such).
HIGHLY recommend a visit!!!

I recently revisited my stamp collection that I remember spending time with my father sorting through myriads of stamps to occasionally find that elusive stamp that could be added to the album. It brought back good memories of time I spent with my late father back in the 1960-70s.While researching stamp websites, I noticed the Spellman Stamp Museum and I decided to pay a visit. On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, I arrived at the Museum early afternoon. On arrival, I called as I was uncertain how to access the museum in my wheelchair. This started a great afternoon. I felt like one of the royalty that was on some of my stamps. I was directed to tan accessible entrance, greeted at the door, and escorted to the exhibit area. After signing in, a gentleman (Joseph Mullin) introduced himself to me. I told him I was interested in learning more about stamp collecting and of my collections. He was the perfect fit for me. He actually offered to sit with me, look over my albums, and shared a wealth of information with me. He spent a considerable amount of time with me, and I am really appreciate the time and knowledge he shared with me on that afternoon.I was also introduced to the Librarian that was responsible for the extensive set of reference material. He talked about the reference material available to me.It seemed that at one time or another that afternoon, I met every person associated with the museum that was there that day. Each and everyone were not only helpful but extremely cordial. And for the actual museum - the displays were extremely interesting and well arranged. I’m looking forward to the next time I go back.Thank you for a “fantastic” experience.Frank Noyes

Located on the Regis College campus, the Spellman Museum is great for a weekend afternoon. It is not too large and is housed in a 1950's style building. There is one big gallery with several smaller rooms which include a children's activities room, a hallway of post offices across America, and stamps across the US. I went in more for the artistic design of the stamps rather than the actual stamps themselves. Staff is friendly and even the director introduced himself. Parking is in the front and to the side/back of the building. There is one bathroom for visitors.

Overpriced! Dusty old stamps not displayed in a interesting manner. Charge $8 for what then make kids pay for old stamps that should be free. First they say 2 cents a stamp then they say 10. First they say kids membership is free then its $10. Do not waste your time or money. Avoid and surly student at front desk is not helping any.
