Course conditions only fair, irregular grass cuttings, rough way too high. I played here Way back in the 60s when they used to be high school golf tournaments here. It was definitely a destination. And it said to see what this course really needs and can only hope that a benefactor might come in to save the day.

Beautiful well established golf course. Fairly long course with dog legs and some up hill holes. Course is very green with some burn in a few fairways but overall in nice condition when we played the front 9 yesterday. Can’t wait to go back and try the back 9. Very friendly staff. Modern golf carts also.

Place is in pretty rough shape. Some greens are okay but most are burnt to a crisp, fairways are okay but so many dry spots and on the complete opposite end you the spectrum so many muddy spot which is to be expected with how much rain we have had but with 45% of the course burnt to a crisp it was pretty depressing. Place is also labeled as cart path only with a 90degree rule and half the course does nor have a legitimate cart path so you are always guessing and the people who don't guess go wherever the h*** they want and make it confusing for the rest of us. For $35-45 you are better off at a handful of other courses in the area! Sorry for the blunt review but hopefully some things change by my next visit if that ever happens. Staff on the other hand was excellent only reason for the 3 star review otherwise it would be a max of a 2! Play this course with caution.

This course looks and plays like a private course. The crew and staff at SFCC have made an amazing turnaround! Go! Play! Even hole #6 looks great! 90% of the greens are in excellent shape. (Not super fast) Nature and beauty are everywhere there.

This definitely was not the place to have a party. Everything was clearly explained by my son and fiancé as to what they wanted where and how for the entire set up. Everything was brought to Nancy and she labeled everything so she knew where it went. Never did she once say that it was too much to do and assured them it would all be taken care of. Never once did she say that she was short staffed. My son and I(mom) offered to come in ahead of time and help set up. She said that it wasn’t necessary. Cupcakes were not on the dessert table by the donut wall, candles were not lit(we didn’t when we got there). Decorations we brought were not used. Promises of high top tables at bar were not there, second bar, nope. Waitstaff not wearing gloves while handling food.Nancy complained to several guests as to why the cake wasn’t cut and at the end said that if no one takes the donuts or cupcakes she was going to use them for an event the next day!?Think twice before you book here!

Very fun layout, lots of blind landing areas, need to be creative with a lot of shots. Fun course to play however the tee boxes are in shambles, lots of ground under repair conditions and some fairways are all crabgrass. Greens were in good condition, the fairways that were in good condition were very nice.

The faculty was dirty, the so called private bridal suite ( cobwebs included) was utilized by golf members and Nancy was the horrific wedding support. She disappeared and had to be hunted down just for assistance. The staff mocked her and agreed that her services were useless. The food was awful. Promises of one event during a wedding did not happen. The event was disorganized, promises of things moved, cleaned up and presented did not occur. The lack of professionalism and preparedness clearly effected what should have been a special flawless day. There was no communication between management and staff. An open bar was closed and cash was taken from patrons after paying for an open bar event.Nancy left the premises and returned hours later so there was no one to turn to for correction. The outside help reported that these types of issues come up often at the facility. Wish we would have talk to them prior. Basically the faculty is a hot dirty mess. Unfortunately, the young staff was stuck apologizing for management. There were simply too many mistakes.

We booked the ballroom and bar area for our wedding reception and paid for an informal buffet, we weren’t looking for anything luxurious just somewhere to celebrate our big day with friends and family, leading up to the day Nancy was so excited for us claiming multiple times how she couldn’t wait to see my fiancé in her wedding dress. The night of the party Nancy said multiple times to people how “this was a lot to set up you know” when We brought all our own decorations the week prior to the event and offered to set them all up to which Nancy said would NOT be necessary and reassured us she’s been doing this a long time she will make sure it’s perfect. She didn’t set up half of our decorations at all the way we discussed and said she never heard of or saw them yet she labeled them in front of us when we brought them. We went there and we were told the bar area would be walled off with mirrors (1/3 of the entire space). We asked why because that was not part of the original deal and Nancy said because she forgot that she booked a FUNERAL in the second gathering area next to the bar….. Nancy nor her servers wore gloves and were seen touching the food with their bare hands by multiple guests and stated how she was going to use the leftover deserts that we brought and paid for, for a party she had the next day! When confronted about our concerns Nancy proceeded to show her true colors by being extremely unprofessional in an email chain back and forth not taking responsibility for her actions and purely lying about the way things transpired. Don’t come here if you want to be treated with respect. She has no decency and I wouldn’t be surprised if she responds to this taking no accountability and twists the story as she does all her other poor reviews. Claiming that we paid for an informal buffet and not a wedding reception is true but totally irrelevant to the fact that she lied multiple times about what she would do and what was done and was extremely disrespectful to us.

When using pavilion on an extremely HOT day like had, would be a good idea to either install large ceiling fans or have large stand up fans on each corner to move the air around. It was incredibly uncomfortable and a few guests left due to feeling ill in the heat. Space was great for what we needed and staff was very attentive.

I have never had a worse day experience at a golf course then I did today. We finished the first 9 and then we’re letting a group pass up when “ Eric” came over and said something about a woman talking to us. All of us were confused, because no one has talked to us our whole time golfing. And then he said he saw an empty can of beer in cart that wasn’t purchased there and we need to leave. Eric ruined our golf trip for no reason. He should not be fit to manage an ant farm, never mind a club of that standards. If I were the owner I would have a serious conversation with that guy. We’ll never be coming back.

This place is coming back to it’s former glory ! Chef Angel Cotto has created a new menu for the 19th hole. Fabulous food. ..many of the special events include his famous bbq and music on the deck or patio. There’s a pavilion that hosts bands and you can rent it for private parties. Mother’s Day and Easter are MUST ATTEND buffets that include everything including a seafood bar. GOLFERS: The new superintendent has the course on point …with continuous upgrades and improvements, the course is becoming one of the best courses in the area again. Shaker Farms is suddenly “ The place to be “ again. Kudos to the owners that have recommitted to making it so !! ….
