We thought this was going to be a luxury, upscale stay as advertised but were left disappointed. The hotel and rooms were in need of maintenance, styling and general upkeep. Areas which had been industrially fenced off made it feel odd and the pool area in particular was looking sad. Breakfast was also a disappointment - not really any savoury options and a lot of sweet baked options which were bland. No water, tea, juice etc. A great shame as the private beach access was lovely and the building and grounds has potential to be something special.

We ate an anniversary dinner at the Inn, a wonderful four-course meal of oysters, lobster, braised short ribs, and sea bass. Everything was delicious, and we're excited to return. Below is a fuller review of the Inn itself: We had a wonderful time at Lambert's Cove Inn. We stayed one night for our anniversary. Upon arriving to the island, we received two messages from the staff via text. This was wonderful as it allowed us to request early check-in. When we got to the Inn, we were greeted by Galen and Anna. They informed us that we could check in early and gave us a tour of the Inn. The grounds are spectacular. We were very happy to have arrived early as it provided time to take a leisurely walk to the pond, through lush flowers and plans, and near the alpacas. The room was cozy and had a private balcony, which was lovely. The staff had left us a bottle of Prosecco for our anniversary. This little detail was amazing.

Galen and Bridget and their team have done it again! Provided a delicious meal with the extra special touches that make coming back to Woods year after year a must for our family! The warm welcome, the amazing chowder, the best lobster puffs!, delightful salad, main courses cooked to perfection, and delicious desserts. And an amazing catalog of wines from which Bridget can so ably help you make a great choice! Thanks for another great dining experience!

Was there for an event but it was a great property and they have a pool and restaurant so you can be there and get away from everything

Besides the charming setting I regret having booked there. Unfriendly and non existent service, unhelpful staff (except Max). Room with poor water pressure, endless waiting for (somewhat) warm water. Overall the biggest deception we had in 2 weeks touring the region. Way over-priced. To be avoided!
Rooms: Poorly equipped and a disgusting, dirty sofa in room 33.

All in all, the staff and the bottle of wine we ordered were the highlights. The food was disappointing. It was unimaginative, under seasoned (nothing was added), dry (salad was not properly dressed and the risotto was undercooked), and prefixed menu options were underwhelming. For the hype and cost, it was a huge letdown. Maybe it was an off night? We won't be coming back. There are too many other establishments, tried and true, that are closer and less expensive.

We were celebrating our Anniversary with family. Every was great from food, to service and setting. The Woods is not like every other restaurant on the Vineyard. Well worth a visit.

We enjoyed the cuisine greatly! Dining in the garden was a special treat. Our service left a lot to be desired in terms of attentiveness. Other than than, we enjoyed a nice meal in a beautiful environment

This is a definite go-to for us each year during our MV stay. The unique cuisine flavors even overshadow the spectacular presentation. This is, by far, the best restaurant on the island that we have experienced, and we never leave disappointed. Until next time!

A fabulous meal - or should I say meals, because the four of us all found our choices distinguished by brliliant flavors and lovely presentation. The meal was complemented by a lovely bottle of wine from The Woods cellar, a wine I look for but seldom find. The Woods presents a grat meal in a lovely setting, a combination not easily found anywhere, but particularly on the Vineyard/

A one of a kind experience ✨️ A beautiful and quiet location not far away from the busy towns; Lambert's offers a unique experience. From the amazing restaurant to the impeccable service, this is a stay to remember.

Lambert's Cove beach is one of our favorites, but it requires a pass during the summer. Fortunately we were told that if we stayed at the Lambert's Cove Inn we could get one, so we decided to cancel our other plans and give the Inn a try. We are so happy that we did!
Jen cheerfully greeted us and arranged for a room, which was a lovely spot with a fenced-in porch a short walk from the main house. The location is so peaceful and quiet - tucked away in the forest so that you feel like you are miles away, while in truth it's still quite convenient to other locales. The grounds are exquisite with lovely flowers, the natural landscape integrated perfectly, and a feeling of perfect harmony and tranquility - all lovingly tended by Bridget, innkeeper and master gardener and her team.
The pool was such a pleasant surprise (since there are not many on the Vineyard that we know of), and we spent a good amount of time relaxing and swimming in the well-maintained garden pool.
We extended our stay twice because we liked it so much, and we were blessed to be there for the seasonal grand-opening of the Woods restaurant. Bridget's husband Galen is the head chef and his multi-course prix fix menu was extraordinary! It was beautiful to look at, it smelled wonderful, and the taste surpassed it all. The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful, and the setting is refined and natural, leading to a perfectly relaxed and extended dining experience.
We count ourselves lucky to have stayed, dined, and enjoyed the inn. We are especially blessed to have become friends with Galen and Bridget and we cannot wait to return.
Rosanna and I heartily recommend a visit for a stay, for dinner, or better yet for both!
Nearby activities: Lambert's Cove beach - our favorite beach, and you can get a pass from the Inn.
There is a lovely forest lake as well, where you can swim and hike.
Food and drinks: The Woods and Chef Galen are top-notch, amazing dinner!

We decided to try the Woods for the last dinner of our MV girls trip and it did not disappoint. The restaurant and surrounding gardens at night were absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. It really fit our tropical/floral themed dinner party well. I was also amazed that we were able to get a same day reservation as I had cancelled our earlier reservation. A big shout out goes to the hostest with the mostest, Ms. Linda who was lovely and took us on a tour of the gardens. The summer fixed price menu was pricey but not bad for the amount of courses received. The food was delicious! The braised short ribs, lobster puffs and the lamb appetizers were big hits, as were the cocktails. The only complaint the party had was that the salads were under dressed and the desserts were good but cold. The taxi drive out there was overpriced ($80 for 6 people) but I don't blame the restaurant for that. All in all a beautiful dinner in a lovely restaurant.

Overall, we're glad we made the trip to Woods but were surprised by the number of kids around the inn and restaurant. The food was good but not great and if there is a set menu it should be great. We didn't love that the only menu choice is via a prix fixe menu, but this is probably great for parents of younger kids who want to enjoy a nicer dinner out. The service was great and the setting is worth checking out.
