Needed firewood for our weekend getaway and they had just what we needed. Thankfully they were willing to load it in the car since I have a bad back. Also recommended Amici a local restaurant which was an excellent recommendation! Very friendly, great local hardware store.

Waited in line today to pick up some painting supplies and owner’s wife came around to the counter after a bit, ignored me, and then asked if the gentleman behind me was ready to check out. She then checked him out first because he had less items. He proceeded to have to go back and get pricing for items while I waited. I called later to give the feedback prior to posting this, and Henry (owner) was pretty curt about it.I’ve renovated one house already using local hardware stores and and just purchased another to do the same. Never had been treated like that. I’ll go to Herringtons in Chatham or Lenox for the rest of this renovation.Reminder to owners: customer service is important.

A small local but heavily stocked hardware store set in the middle of West Stockbridge. The staff are quite friendly and helpful.

I love old fashioned hardware stores with knowledgeable workers. prices a bit higher than big box outlets but more than worth it to buy from local people.

This old-fashioned hardware store is well-stocked with most things you will need for those home repair projects on your TO-DO list. Good selection of paint, tools, garden supplies, as well as a line of humane products to keep groundhogs and other critters away. The friendly staff is eager to assist you. You can even buy artisanal dill pickles at the checkout counter. Why? Because the owner tasted some at a trade show and found them to be really, really good.
