Periwinkle is an impeccably curated boutique, well on its way to becoming a Cape Cod destination. It's a place where you can browse at your own pace without the staff encroaching, which is nice, there's a lot to see. They also recently got a must see baby section that is adorable. Otherwise - two floors, great selection from small gifts, to jewelry, to home decor. Some deals in the on-sale section... A must stop during our stay in Wellfleet, always.

Pros: Wellfleet is a lovely little town. I was excited when we saw this shop while walking around the town. There are some nice and unique items in this shop. I saw a lot of things I liked! And my husband and I even purchased several items (which I regret for the reasons to follow...) Cons: Unfortunately, I could not agree more with the review for this shop posted by Jasmin. When entering the shop, the lady working there (possibly the owner, I am not sure) looked directly at my husband and I without saying a word. Just watched us then began chit chatting with someone about her weekend plans. When it came time to check out for a couple of items I wanted (a candle and a shirt) she still did not say hello and simply said when I put down my items "you can not buy the shirt here. You have to buy it at the other register" ( There are two registers.. apparently there is two shops that are connected. I guess the one register is for the clothing part of the shop only). Fair enough. So she began wrapping my candle then stops, sets it down and says in a huffy tone "I do not accept credit for a purchase less than 10 dollars" ( even though between my two items it was over $45). I understand some businesses have this rule, but the way she said it could not have been any more unapologetic. So I said that I will just get the shirt then. Without a word she turned around and walked the ten feet to the other register. So I followed her awkwardly. She stood behind the counter without a word, bagged up my shirt then stared at me so I handed her my card. Without a word she then slammed my card down onto the table after processing it. Still not a word! By this point I was not happy. I put my receipt in the bag and as I walked away she says in a snarky tone "thanks". A tip for her if she reads this: You work in customer service and could really afford to at least pretend to be friendly. You could start with saying "hi" to potential customers when they walk into your small shop. Or maybe just smile to even acknowledge them. That would be a start. Or maybe don't and just continue to receive this sort of feedback.

Every time i go to Wellfleet I stop in to this store. I love it. The owner has a good eye for beach-y designs, gifts, and unique products in general. I always find some amazing stuff. And the dog in the store is ADORABLE!

Well I liked the shop. The young woman was very nice and as I was sweating a lot she offered me some kleenex which I took. I liked the items in the shop as well and bought two pewter ornaments for around $20 each. BOOOO I found the very same ornaments at Yankee Ingenuity in Chatham for $13.95....what a disappointment. That is quite a price hike....

A real find! The eclectic array at this adorable shop makes a trip there very worthwhile. My husband and I were shopping for a wedding gift last fall and found not only the perfect present for our friends but irresistible finds for our own home. The owner was very helpful without hovering over us, giving us time and space to browse. a great experience........... Car loaded, wallet empty!

funny, we loved the items in the store but had a similar experience to the previous reviewer. the woman store clerk was on the phone with verizon and made us wait to pay for our items until she was done with her phone call. clueless.

My husband and I stopped in here on our last day on the Cape to pick up gifts and when we walked in the owner turned and looked at us both, turned her back and continued whatever she was doing. Unbelievably rude!! My husband made a cute comment on her dog and she said NOTHING, like Stonehenge! What a horrible woman. The other worker or owner in the next room - same thing, she's unpacking merchandise over existing merchandise and doesn't even offer to move it etc. as myself and another customer were trying to look at the items buried. These two need a job where they have NO contact with people, what nasty women. Little did they know we probably would have spent at least $200-300 that day, and God knows they need it in this off the beaten path location. But I would have burned that money in the street before giving them one cent. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR ENERGY! Plenty of other shops on the Cape where the owners/staff will make you feel welcome, not like you're intruding.
