I can't say enough about the Citgo station in Wellesley. The service for a desperately needed oil change, inspection sticker plus more took just a bit over an hour....VERY fairly priced.I had been to other auto stations where I had to leave my car for hours and they were double the price. David, who owns this business is honest and very accommodating!!!!I will never go anywhere else!!!!!

I brought my car to Linden Service/Citgo for my third consecutive annual car inspection. Similar to the last two times I had them inspect my car I was expecting a brief wait (up to half an hour) and relatively friendly staff. However, I didn't expect my experience this time to be different. I arrived in the parking lot and grabbed my car registration and headed towards the main entrance to speak with someone. Suddenly the bay doors opened and a man comes out and our eyes meet. He says, "car keys". As I bring out the keys, I told him I was here for the state inspection and asked him if he needed my car registration. He said I could leave it in the car and took the registration and car keys and began his work. As a returning customer, I knew I could wait in the main office and headed there even though he didn't say anything. About 10 minutes later, a second man came into the office talking on his cell phone loudly. He tells me, "$35". I asked if he accepted credit cards but I sensed he was busy with the phone so I didn't wait for him to respond and gave him my credit card. He processed it and returned my card and a transaction receipt. Then he got confused and asked, "did I give you the right one?". He had another card in his hand. I checked the receipt to see the card number swiped and we both figured out at the same time, he processed everything correctly. He returns to his phone conversation and loudly divulged his account number and other private details to the other party on the phone in my presence. After about 2 minutes he finishes his phone call and returns to the car bay. The first man, who performed the inspection, came into the main office with a neutral expression says, "$35". I told him I already paid the second man. He walks away. I could hear the second man in the bay confirm that I was all set. I saw my car outside the bay and wasn't sure if everything was completed since I usually get an inspection report. I went towards the bay and asked the first man if I'm all set and asked for the inspection report. He told me it was in the car and asks the second man who was on the other side of a car they were working on if I'm all set. The second man, in a good mood, says several times, to the first man and I that he already processed my $35 payment and that I was all set to leave. I gave him a thumbs up and started leaving. I missed his next sentence but now I turned around. He looked at me in a smile and says, "Your car says clean me" and laughs. The first man smiles and the owner who has half his body in a car they were working on smiled. Confused, I didn't process what he was saying but seeing them all smiling I thought it must be a nice comment and gave them a thumbs up and left. It didn't connect with me until seconds later that comment/joke was directed towards my dirty car exterior. I'm not sure why the second man wanted to make me the center of a joke for their entertainment. The last thing on my mind is making sure my car is visibly clean. Having lost my career right before the pandemic and unable to regain much of my former glory, I've been under enormous personal and financial stress. As a returning customer I chose Linden Service/Citgo because I get a service at a reasonable "price". I don't mind if the employees have a poker face, the first man seems to lack basic communication skills, a dirty hand is handling my credit card, or the place is very ugly and needs an upgrade. I cut the employees and the owner some slack. How would the owner feel if I made some parting jokes of my own, "your office says upgrade me", "your employees say they misplaced their smile", or "Where is your remote control? You have a loud employee on a phone conversation, and I need to turn down the volume". The pandemic has led us to reevaluate our values, lifestyle, and circumstances. It's time for me to do the same for Linden Services/Citgo, I will no longer measure simple jobs lik

Been going to Linden Service on and off for over 30 years. My mom used to love this place. She was a bit quirky and knew nothing about cars. They NEVER took advantage of her. David, the original owner's son, is one of the most wonderful human beings that you will come across. He runs around like a madman to keep things moving. He treats his employees very well, maybe too well because they definitely slow way down when he is not around. Prices have gone up a bit the last couple of years. He has had no choice as the rent has more than doubled. Despite this huge increase in rent, the landlord was not willing to modernize the place so as to allow him to have some self service pumps as well. One of the reviewers complained about the fact that they close at 6pm and are not open on Sunday. I don't totally disagree but this is a family business and David has a family. So do his employees. This is a great place, one of the last family businesses still operating in town. I strongly recommend it.

Honest, courteous work! The owner of this gas station and auto repair shop has set the tone of good quality, courteous, honest work. I bring my car there every year for inspections and they have never "found" any spurious problems, like some other places seem to do. I have developed great trust in this shop. It is worth patronizing.
