“The West Roxbury Y is a wonderful place! I attend the Fit for Life Classes about 5 days a week and love each one. Each instructor has their own unique style! It is the BEST!!!!”
“The Food Project-- awesome for so many reasons. But, never having purchased their CSA or been to one of their farmers' markets (though I definitely trust other reviewers' 5-star assessments), the basis of my review are their volunteer opportunities and workshops/events for the general public. I met one of my really good friends while volunteering at the Food Projects' urban farm near Dudley Square, where I also got my first experience in urban gardening. The staff are friendly and welcoming to all, whether you're an individual or group (just make sure you arrange ahead of time if you're bringing a big group of people). It's a great place to get your hands dirty and know that you're making a difference in the community by helping a great organization. The cooking workshops they offer at their Dudley Street HQ are also great. Knowledgeable community members teach classes on bread-making, pickling, various cultural cuisines (i.e., Sudanese or Cape Verdean), and all classes are donation-based. Cooking workshops typically run in the late winter and early spring--just in time for you to have some new ideas about how to use the harvest from the coming growing season!-- so keep an eye on TFP's Facebook page or e-mail list for updates on the workshops in mid-winter. There are also gardening workshops offered throughout the spring, and a spring seedling sale.”
“Had a great time volunteering with my co-workers and the many others that were there. My group worked on sizing. Sorting kids clothes by size, type, and filtering out those that were damaged, too large, not sensitive to children's particular home situations, etc. Kevin was our host. He was fun, energetic, helpful, positive, and inspiring. It does get hot in there, so bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Signed up with my family for another volunteer opportunity. Looking forward to it! Hopefully I will have the opportunity to try another station but wouldn't be bummed if we get sizing again. Parking in front of building, street side, and other lots in the area. Do not park in the lot next door. They will ask you to move your vehicle. Thanks Cradles to Crayons for the opportunity to give just two hours of our time to your important mission. Also, we were informed that they are in need of boys and gender neutral clothing. Size newborn to 18/20. Board books too. I will bring more bags to donate with us next time we are in the area.”

“The ABGC is a safe, fun, great place for kids to grow up alongside wonderful role models , wonderful staff, and so many of whom have been involved for many years. I have seen a major improvement in my kids social and emotional health from their experiences and relationships, and relationship building skills being discovered and built at the boys n girls club. They also are healthier from the regular swimming, exercising, and excitement of being with friends after school. They learn to cook, and learn all types of different things there. Anytime I walked around inside it was very clean considering all the traffic, they definitely have professionals deep cleaning regularly. I wish I had a place like ABGC in my town growing up. It's a gift to our community.”

56 Felton St, Waltham“Cute bookstore. Stopped in while on a work trip to the area. The book store itself is rather small but they have hundreds of books cataloged in the back so all you have to do is have them look it up for you. They also have local seasoning, crafts, and more displayed around the shop for purchase. I was able to get the book I was looking for along with some Zatar seasoning. It was a win win for me. Would definitely come back to find a new book or just to see what they have that's new. Part of the proceeds also go to a worthy cause of youth education and literacy so that makes it even better. Will definitely return!”

220 Reservoir St # 6, Needham“For over 6 years now, Commonwealth Learning Center has consistently provided excellent individualized tutoring and academic support that has helped our child have proficiency and confidence in school. We appreciate how the tutors over the years got to know our child's specific needs and how they followed a plan of development but remained flexible enough to apply their development plan to real life school assignments. The CLC culture, while focused and skilled, enabled the tutors to work with our child's needs and communicate regularly with us as parents. We are grateful for the lasting impact and shudder to think of where our now high schooler would be without the investment of teachers and tutors and Commonwealth Learning Center. Thank you CLC!”

“I lodged in this amazing historic place last month. I love everything antique and vintage and visiting Boston for the first time was for me a dream come through. My parents visited and lodged here for more than thirty years as they went for their class association. I will gladly pay to stay here anytime I visit Boston because it is very peaceful.”

671 High St, Dedham“Just got home from the 100th Anniversary Gala at the Dedham Community House and walking through the front door after not having been there for over 3 DECADES, I was rocketed back to the days of my youth when I spent a great deal of time at D.C.H. The fellowship of the event was palpable and the pride in the principles that D.C.H. encompasses is inspiring. The outgoing director of 15 years, Michelle, introduced the new incoming director, who has decades of experience in non profit programs and knows and understands the missions and goals of Dedham Community House).I went to preschool here and I was both nurtured and gently disciplined so that I could LEARN and the wonderful teachers helped form me into the human being that I am today. I went to Dedham Community House summer camp from age 6 to age 12. I made some of my closest friends during those summers days at camp. I learned teamwork, scheduling and routine, listening to directions, sports, crafts, and empathy and compassion for others. I wouldn't trade those days for anything. It's so wonderful to know that D.C.H. is still a place for children to go to be safe and guided. D.C.H. is an important part of our community and I am sure it will be here and thriving 100 years from now. ???”
