I do not typically write reviews but I wanted to warn people about the policy this company has. I was looking for a new gym in the area so I asked the front desk if I could get a tour of the gym. I was persuaded by Dan from the front desk to "join for $1 with no commitment fee". I only used the gym one time and called back within 1 week of joining because I found a better gym. They then told me that I still had to pay the annual fee of $69 even though I only used the gym one time and they promised that there was no commitment fee. WARNING TO ANYONE JOINING THAT IT IS NOT JUST $1 TO JOIN. Its $1 + $69 no matter how long you are a member for.

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! Dan at the front desk is one of the worst customer service individual's I have ever met. First off, he scammed my friend into doing a 2 week $1 down and never once told him about the $69.99 annual fee he would have to pay on top of that. When it came to me, I wanted to try the gym for a free day and said I couldn't do the free trial because I "wasn't serious about my house search in the area." Then, I get on the phone with his manager who is driving around in the car not even paying attention to a word I am saying and just hangs up the phone. Just the utter lack of respect for potential customers, they are scam artists who withhold information and make judgement calls to get you to spend money. Not to mention have fun working out with a bunch of highschool boys making tiktoks in the mirrors. From reading the other reviews, clearly other individuals have had the same horrible experience with the management at the Wayland New York/Boston Sports club...

One of the greatest gyms in all of New England, if not the whole USA! Clean, put-together well, and staffed with great people. There cannot be enough positive things to be said about this gym!

No complaints, clean, friendly staff, not too crowded most days/times. Rooms for improvement might be more classes and amenities.

Over the past several weeks, the gym has randomly had nobody show up to open the facility in the morning. I regularly go between 6am-7am, where as the gym hours state it will open at 5am (and it had consistently, when the previous manager worked there), but the gym is constantly locked, with the most recent occasion being on 7/12. I commute from Boston to the Wayland area for work, and expect to work out and have access to the locker rooms/showers. I loved this location in the past, but this is completely unacceptable for a membership-based business to not be consistent with their hours, with no notice of any kind.

The worst. Nothing has changed since the practices that got them in trouble since the Covid days. Poor customer service--among other things inappropriate charges, say one thing do another, no follow through, don't answer their phones. Just horrible all around

Pretty good now that they have tissues. Would appreciate the towel service back and there's some improvement possible with equipment but it's pretty good

Updated Review: Since my original review almost all of the old incredible staff and trainers were let go without notice when the pandemic started, and members were left with accounts getting charged without being able to use the gym. Thankfully i canceled my membership right before the pandemic started. It seems to still be declining since then with the current management. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It just simply isn't what it used to be. I honestly cant believe its still at this location.Original 5 star review 2019:Ive been a member at the Wayland BSC for over 3 years now and its been an awesome experience. Equipment is new and maintained well, front desk staff are very friendly. When it comes to personal training , I've had one of the best experiences one can ask for. Ive been working with Mauricio for almost 2 years now and I've seen great results, in both losing and gaining weight. He's the man! All the other personal trainers there have been great too, Nick, Lucas, and everyone else have been super cool. All in all, its an awesome gym!

The club facilities are good but the management has gotten less friendly. The members pretty much only deal the great front desk and trainers-- the manager stays in the office with the door closed. The vibe could be better.

Equipment and atmosphere is great, but pricing model is predatory and advertising is scummy. Advertised $49 1 month membership for the holidays, and hid in the fine print that this is actually a $49 joining fee, $45 monthly charge on Jan 1st, and another $70 “annual” charge on Jan 15th. On me for not reading further, but still scummy and a downright ridiculous price to pay for a month of gym membership. Won’t be seeing me again.

Overwhelmingly negative experience. Not enough benches, only 1 of each machine + several extraneous ones no one uses, and too few plates for deadlifting. Pricing model surrounding the holiday "discount" is deliberately misleading and predatory. Staff just chuckled to themselves about fleecing college students when I asked to clarify the insane pricing scheme. Don't give them your business if you can help it.

Shady business practices. Convinced a 16 year old kid to "suspend" his student membership when he asked to cancel it. Sure enough they started charging again and my son just noticed. Hundreds of dollars. Now the new GM Zack won't take responsibility "for the actions of others". He just hung up on us. Classy. Town Sports International is their parent company. This place should be closed down. It's empty whenever we drive by anyways. Horrible leadership.

Zach the manager is unable to do his job. He took most of the weights off the floor because "it was messy". Maybe he should focus on fixing all the broken equipment first. The gym was much better off without him

Great local gym with an amazing caring staff. Jen, Julia and Zac are amazing and always make you feel welcome. I see a lot of talk about Zach on here, but many members also feel he has done everything right. He made an effort to have people put back the weights by having less out on the floor. It was an interstimg call i thought, but it has been working to keep the place organized. Before Zach got there the place was a mess daily. I have been a member since 2014 November 1st and the place has never looked so clean as it did today.

I have been coming to this gym for a little while now and wow all i can say is WOW. How much this place has fallen off. The blame is all on the new management. There’s no plates anymore he took them all away. I have many friends that go here and they all agree that this is the worst management in the history of this location. Zac lacks customer service in every aspect. I’ve witnessed screaming matches while working out between him and members. Crazy how a gym was better off with out a manager for so long.
