Great smaller market, very customer oriented staff..especially Ashley at Service Desk. Shes terrific! Only negative is that prices are a bit higher here! I only go once in a while to buy a few things not a ton.

This store has gone downhill, its just filled with a bunch of depressed employees who mope around and are very unhelpful and act like helping you is a major inconvenience when asked. 10 years ago it was a very different scene...more cheerful, i actually enjoyed food shopping here then.

I have passed Donelan's for years and have never been in, but I was heading home around 2:30 after doing errands and I was really hungry. While I really wanted - and needed - something that was "real lunch food" (i.e. something filling, like a sandwich) I wandered around and didn't feel like fruit. I saw a couple of pre-made sandwiches in the deli area, but nothing appealed to me and I was drawn back to the bakery area. You know those nice and big slices of cake that grocery stores have that sometimes have a lot of frosting? They have them, and it had A LOT of frosting and that's when I knew a day of healthy eating would be pushed to another day. Found a nice big slice of white cake and that frosting looked soooo good. I looked around for a fork because I wanted to dive into it in the parking lot, but that needed to wait until I got home. One minute through the self-checkout lane and I was off, and hurried home to get my sugar rush. It was delicious, and there was so much frosting that I didn't eat all of it (probably a first for me). After wandering the aisles, the prices seemed the same to me as those that I normally pay in Newton at Star Market, so I may need to pick up some actual food the next time I am driving by! Store was VERY clean, definitely a bonus!

I bought 3 packs of ice cream at this store. Unfortunately, it tasted horrible, so I went back hoping to return it, get credit, and to purchase something else instead. Guess what? The manager started to investigate me what’s wrong with the product, why am returning etc. Why does it even matter? If I don’t like it at ANY reason, why can’t I return it, and get credit? I wasn’t asking for money back.Anyway, the manager kept making up all kind of reasons just not to credit me in any way. Great policy towards your regular local costumers! Well done, Donelan’s!Very disappointed experience! Never coming back again!

11/18/2022Bad customer serviceJust went to asked whether a vendor issued a gift check can be accepted at the store and a senior male clerk tending the customer services replied to my question with frowny face not being in a cordial way --- pathetic service!

Well organized & stocked so I could find what I was looking for (i.e. Elan Coffee frozen yogurt for one of my recent family get-togethers).Of course, this sure brings back fond memories of when my dad & I were doing our fun grocery shopping trips for our gourmet family meals (i.e. Salmon Teriyaki w/ onions & mushrooms).Beth Budner, Auburndale!

Really do wish they could get their prices more in line with Market Basket and Trader Joe's. That is the big issue with Donelan's. Price. And their staff could be a lttle cheerier.

Overpriced groceries at average quality. Have come home from shopping with cheese that I discovered was moldy and similar issues there a few times. Also they shortened their hours during Covid and never expanded them back outward. Also they discontinued paper bags with handles and have had ones without handles for a long time now. so I guess that is a permanent decision. it's extremely annoying and makes carrying your groceries very difficult! At their sky high prices they should at least give customers handles on their bags.
