I usually work out during the Zumba Classes. I cannot say enough about, Darren, Nicole, Vielka and Stephanie. for the one hour or 45 minutes. You work, sweat, smile and forget your troubles for that momemnt and sometime for the rest of the day. I am smiling during and after the class. You do not even know you are working out it is like being at a small party with friends dancing. Love the engery they give out and more! Great Therapy!!! It is worth it to travel 30 to 40 minutes from Somerville to just do Zumaba 5 days a week. Love it! Worth the ride back and forth.

Not enough equipment, if there’s more than 3people training the same muscle at any given timeThe trainers seem more interested in keeping long term clients stringing them along with minimal results

Great place to work out but I complained and been put off by the foul smell in the showers and sauna. Soap scum and flies are common. There just isn’t enough cleaning particularly at peak times. The cardio equipment is usually taken and there’s always a wait.

I joined the club a few months ago and have to say it’s one of the best clubs I belong to! Pre-pandemic. I was a Boston sports club member, but they did end up closing. Once I started looking around at clubs in the area and came upon Waverly Oaks, it was totally clear this was the best choice. This was the best club around and had everything I was looking for. Their classes are amazing and there are plenty of them, either spinning, yoga, Pilates, body conditioning… Things are geared for all different levels, which is what I was looking for. The locker room is very clean, and one of my wants was a sauna or steam, and this club offers both! One of the best things I enjoy as well is that I’ve made some new friends and feel very welcomed overall. Can’t go wrong with Waverley oaks. Can’t recommended it enough!

I've been a member for 1.5 years and recently had personal life challenges and newly discovered food allergies that made nutrition choices significantly more challenging to manage.I started working with Jessica Roy who has been very creative and thorough in helping me find/research foods I could eat as well as helping me better understand the building blocks of healthy eating. She's also been a great therapist and listens to the combination of physical activity and emotional ups and downs with great empathy. I feel more in control of my life based on her guidance and recommend working with her.

Be careful this gym does not value long time customers. Updating my review from 5 stars to 1 star after I was billed 80 dollars even though I came in before billing date to cancel. I have been with this gym for years and everyone outside of the managers and physical workers are so miserable they just want to give attitude instead of helping.

Overall okay. But they are not investing enough in renewing their machines. I expected more considering the relatively high membership fee.

I work out at Waverley Oaks whenever I'm visiting family in the Waltham area. First, their guest policy is fantastic. You can get a 7-day guest pass for $35, which is only slightly more than many gyms in NYC charge for a day pass. Guests have full access to the gym + classes, with the exception of the pool (I'm not a swimmer so this doesn't bother me).The gym is spacious, well-maintained, and clean. The weights area on the lower floor has a whopping 6 squat racks and 3 benches, as well as the standard assortment of dumbbells and machines you'd expect. It can get crowded at peak hours, but there's so much equipment that I haven't experienced long waits. It's also nice to have windows! There's more weights on the main floor and cardio machines upstairs, which helps spread people out, too.The locker room is above average: nothing fancy, but it's clean and does the job. It has a sauna and steam room, both of which are clean and comfortable (the steam room doesn't have a thermometer, but it gets quite hot). The gym provides towels at the front desk and shampoo, body wash, and body lotion in the locker room, all of which are of standard quality. You'll also need to bring your own lock, which is a slight downside for visitors.Last time I visited, I signed up for a spin class with Melissa and Sheila (the gym has an app for members, but guests can sign up by calling the front desk). The class was great: challenging but fun, with good music and an overall good vibe (the instructors seemed to know everyone by name).I highly recommend Waverley Oaks to anyone visiting the area, and if I lived in Waltham, I'd sign up for a membership in a heartbeat.

This gym has lost its appeal, there is no machinery available when I visit after work. The locker rooms are full and there's barely an open locker to leave my stuff in. The men's sauna has foul odor that you get a big smell from upon someone entering and its often closed for servicing. The men's showers have no showerheads. To make matters worse its difficult to park and fees have gone up! There's several high school and college kids who fill up the gym and it's become an inconvenient and stressful place to workout.

Nutritionist Jessica Roy was an absolute pleasure to work with. Jessica was my nutritionist for almost 2 years. I have nothing but great things to say about Jessica. She is warm, personable, kind and knowledgeable. She is so approachable and understanding of everything involving nutrition and healthy eating. She aided me in my weight loss journey and I could not thank her enough. Jessica Roy is simple the best!!!

It's clean and organized with good structure, but if you are like me just looking for a place to do weights and cardio (not special classes) and think here you'll have more space and machines available based on their prices, I'm sorry to inform, you'll be stuck in the gym double or triple the time your training should take as you were in any other cheaper option.

Great gym! Good selection of equipment and lots of fun fitness classes! I get reimbursed by my work for membership, but I'd still come here even if I didn't. I would give 5 stars if classes and pool lanes didn't fill up so quickly - you have to wait until the second reservations open to get in sometimes.

I usually don’t leave a review, but in this case I was very impressed by the customer service of Brian Monroy who is really good at focusing on what customers need and require. Quick responses show that he cares enough to pay attention to our concerns. I’m leaving my 5 star because of Brian and his impressive work towards people who were interested to give the club a chance. He was the reason we signed up for a membership. Thank you again Brian!

This place has a very rude and racist manager. They are not friendly to the people of color. On top of that they only offer classes at limited hours. The locker room is always messy. The front desk staff are most of the time angry and not welcoming. The towels are old and smell bad.
