Smallish art museum on the Brandeis campus. Completely free with free parking but there is a donation box. Fairly empty on a Saturday. There is no cafe. Wonderful assortment of artwork including a Picasso. There is a space with very high ceilings in the back of the building where you can find a large collection of excellent contemporary art. This part is the jewel of the museum as far as I am concerned. It rivals the ICA in many ways. You can see everything in about an hour. Bring your children or the grandparents.

Exhilirating, carefully curated collection of contemporary art at Brandeis University. The current exhibit of feminist 3D paintings by Persian artist Arghavan Khosravi complements the permanent collection beautifully. Guards are knowledgeable and can offer history and insights - don't be afraid to chat! The free admission caps the deal: a small gem of a museum.

Rose Art Museum is located at Brandies University, it is free and open to the public. There’s a small parking area in front of the museum which towards the back of the campus along the loop road. The modern/contemporary collection is among the best in New England. Since Covid- they’ve been mostly spotlighting the permanent collection and you’ll find works from Frida Kahlo to Matthew Barney. A good selection of minimal and color field works as well. It’s a great little museum to check out- a small gallery on the first floor and then some larger rooms downstairs. Plus it’s only 20 minutes from Boston. Thumbs up

First time there . It encompassed Slavery and the Holocaust ~ very very moving to say the least.Out of respect to the artists the photos are not close up of any of their work, other than the neon sign.Photos wouldn't do them justice.

This museum believes it’s appropriate to display the face and name of a mass shooter. There is no BS context the “artist” could create that would justify putting the likeness of this sociopath on the wall of a museum. That one disgusting image ruined my entire experience. Thx Rose Art Museum

Big enough to have more than one exhibit, small enough to not be overwhelming. Both the permanent and temporary collection are well laid out and the space is architecturally subtle and interesting.

A very small museum in a nice setting. Worth seeing if you are on campus but not traveling for. That said the temporary exhibit Displaced with Strangeness by Raida Adon is outstanding.

Well worth the ride (we were visiting Boston). This is a jewel of a museum. We were drawn to the Kahlo exhibit but found the other artists equally intriguing.

A small group of us visited earlier today. After some research I thought - why haven't I been here! It's such a lovely museum for modern art! Sizewise I feel it's just enough for those who aren't able to spend hours combining through other museum's endless wings etc. The building's architecture is perfect for what it houses. Admission is free ... With the pandemic and it's variant masks/ facial coverings are mandatory. Also you must register online for a ticket and take a COVID assessment. When you do enter proof of vaccination (s) and an ID are also required. For me a small price to pay for a couple of hours of bliss. This is such a gem, depending on what exhibit I would definitely return.
