My dress cost $950 and needed minor alterations just tightening the top. She initially charged me $175 (consistent with what the bridal store told me my alterations should cost). She circled this figure on a receipt type paper.
As I was preparing to pay, she started scribbling around and I saw it jump up to $1050. She insisted this was the actual price and not the $175 we had just agreed on. Absolutely outrageous quotation that she wasnt willing to budge on and I saw her begin to lose her temper as I refused to pay and she took the pins out of my dress.
I then went to another bridal tailor in Cambridge which is even more highly rated. She charged me exactly $200 and told me it would be ready in 2 weeks. I am still shocked by what happened here and thankful to have found an alternative. Avoid this place.

Dao is an absolutely fantastic tailor! She did an incredible job tailoring my wedding dress. I'm fairly short and had a long train, so a good amount of material had to come off, which I know is never easy. The dress ended up looking perfect and fit me like a glove. Her experience and thoughtfulness also shows; she did a beautiful bustle and even put in little snaps at the back of the off-shoulder fabric on my dress that I could undo after the ceremony, so I could move my arms more comfortably. I highly recommend going to see her, and will absolutely be returning for all my tailoring needs in the future!

Where do I begin? Dao is amazing and just lovely to work with. From the first moment we walked into her shop, until the moment I carried our daughter's wedding gown out, everything was perfect. Dao is a perfectionist and we were thankful for that! Do not look further, Dao Tailoring is simply the best!

Dao is incredible! She constructed a back for my wedding dress to replace the open back design I wasn’t comfortable with and it looks amazing! Her attention to detail and the care that she puts into her work is evident.On top of her skill, she is such a sweet and kind woman. I truly couldn’t be happier or recommend her enough!

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! Thank you so much Dao for being sweet, patient and kind to take this dress in and to reconstruct with the short amount of time!! This dress was very long and loose on the shoulder and Dao did an amazing job and even made it more prettier than before. To anyone who is looking for an amazing tailor, DAO IS THE ONE!!

Dao is the BEST tailor in the area. I can't recommend her enough. Not only is she an incredibly talented tailor, she's also an extremely kind and sincere person. She did the best job on my wedding dress and had thoughtful ideas on how to make it look the best on me. The dress fit like a glove thanks to Dao.
She also altered my 86 year old grandmother's dress and couldn't have been more accomodating to her. My grandma was very happy with Dao's work on her dress as well!
I wouldn't go anywhere else in the Boston area for alterations! Highly, highly recommend Dao!

I worked with Dao to have two dresses altered, including my wedding dress. Dao and her team were incredible. Though Dao was very busy through the summer, she was accommodating and patient. In phone conversations and in person, I never felt rushed or overlooked. Dao was unfailingly kind to me and altered my dress beautifully.
I see no need to consult any other tailor in the Boston area. In my strong view, Dao is the absolute best; I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Dao was extremely nice and very helpful and knowledgeable on how to alter the dress. She made decisions to help make the dress look the best on me! She is has a great turn around time! Would definitely recommend Dao for wedding dress alterations! She was also very fast with the alterations!

I am SO glad I used Dao for my wedding alterations. From the start, she was a pro. She is incredibly talented, professional, and organized. She truly isn’t pleased until the dress is perfect. My dress needed quite a bit of work and had a lot of delicate fabric, but Dao executed the necessary alterations perfectly. I would definitely recommend her!

Do not look anywhere else for a tailor ever again. I was very nervous about getting my dress altered because it has so much detail. Dao made it look absolutely perfect and even improved it with a new zipper so I could get into the dress with ease. It was so much work in a short amount of time, but she still managed to make me feel so special every time I went in for a fitting. I felt so comfortable at my wedding, and I cannot thank Dao enough for her work.

Dao went above and beyond to help me reconstruct my mother’s wedding dress into a cocktail dress for my rehearsal dinner. She spent time to transform the dress to fit my vision. She is extremely talented and I would highly recommend her to anyone! She is very kind, honest, and great with communication. The photos speak for themselves! Thank you, Dao!
