Joining Boston Underground Strength Training has been one of the best decisions I’ve made! I first joined during a really busy period of grad school where I was working long hours and had a constantly changing routine. It was so nice to know that no matter how busy I was, I would always be getting at least two workouts in each week! I’ve been training with them for 6 months and feel like I have my body back and am stronger than ever! The coaches are so kind and professional and they’re always able to provide adaptations to the exercises when needed. I also really appreciate that the community isn’t focused on weight loss, rather getting strong and feeling good for life. I feel like I lucked out in finding this gym and will continue to go for a long time!

I've been working with the coaches at Boston Underground for almost a year now, and I feel better than I ever have before. The strength training and coaching has helped me to be a better triathlete, and helped me to feel better on a daily basis.

This place is one of a kind. Even though I'm in for a tough workout, I look forward to each one. The coaches have created an environment where I feel confident to pursue my fitness goals without judgment, free to ask questions, and secure knowing that they will push me when I need it, and help me rein it in when I need that.Not only are the coaches experts in the moves and techniques, which maximizes each exercise, but they always take the time to when I get there to make sure I'm feeling good and ready to go. Whether it is back is feeling tight, they make sure to address it at the start and keep an eye on me throughout.If I haven't mentioned the coaches enough the last thing I will say is they are some of the genuine people I've come across who care about me and my goals. I know if I come in and dedicate an hour to them, I will leave feeling exponentially better than when I went in.

This place is great! The coaches are awesome, and the strength camp classes are the perfect balance of group fitness and hands on coaching. The coaches also do an amazing job modifying exercises for all fitness levels. Highly recommend!

Boston Underground Strength Training is by far the best gym and personalized training experience that I have ever done! I have always been very active but I've always struggled with strength training - I didn't know how to lift and I dreaded any type of strength training. Under the excellent guidance of Angel and Angela I not only learned how to strength train properly and safely but discovered that I LOVE it!Angel takes his time to determine your goals and develops an individualized plan to help you achieve your goals. During sessions there is always close oversight to ensure you are completing the movements correctly and to tweak the program if necessary. Their attention to detail during sessions makes it feel like a personal training session but without the awkward constant one-on-one attention that usually come with personal training (which I hate).Unfortunately due to scheduling I had to take a break from the gym but Angel helped me to develop a personalized plan that I can continue with at home until I can come back. They truly care about their clients and push them to meet their goals. I can't say enough good things about BUST and I look forward to coming back after the summer!

I am just finishing up my third month at Boston Underground and I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience thus far. I came in with zero gym experience and have progressed beyond my own expectations. I was extremely nervous about my lack of knowledge and experience at the gym, but since joining, I have become comfortable in the space and actively look forward to every session (something I never thought I would say).The coaches are all amazing and make Boston Underground a welcoming space for everyone. They want to see you succeed and will push you to achieve the goals you have set out for yourself. I’m happy to have found this community and highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in joining!

There’s so much I could say about BUST, but the best thing I could say is that they have changed my life. I came straight to BUST from physical therapy after a back injury and they have helped me build back strength I lost during recovery, build back confidence, and strengthen my core and back to help prevent further injury. All of the coaches have been so accommodating and understanding and always ensure the moves are done correctly to protect my back and help modify moves when necessary. The whole gym has a great community feeling and every coach is knowledgeable and so kind.

I am so glad I joined Boston Underground Strength Training back in December. In the four short months I have been a member, I have noticed big changes in my overall strength and physical health, as well as mental health. I have done a lot of strength training in the past, but never with the level of guidance and purpose BUST offers. The coaching staff is amazing; the coaches create specific training programs to help members reach their individual goals. I really can’t recommend BUST enough for those looking to start or continue strength training!

Goldilocks would approve!Boston Underground Strength Training fills a unique niche that’s just right:Semi-private training (up to 6 people) with individualized programs that are updated every 4 weeks. Friendly, knowledgeable coaches who provide just the right amount of guidance / correction / encouragement while giving you space to own the workout yourself. Spacious, welcoming, super clean, incredibly well-organized. Accessible to all levels of experience. Oh, and did I mention independently owned? I’ve been coming in twice weekly for the past 6 months and will continue to do so. I am very pleased with the progress I am making and love being a part of this community. Thank you, Team BUST!

I've been training at Boston Underground for about a year now. I was looking for a way to restart my fitness journey after covid and decided to give this gym a try.Now 1 year later i'm in the best shape of my life. I'm stronger and have more stamina and flexibility.I'd recommend this gym to anyone who is looking for the perfect balance of hands on instruction and freedom.

I have been training at Boston Underground Strength Training for 6 months now and this has been, by far, the best strength training experience I have had--and I am writing this as someone who has been a competing as an athlete since seven years old in various sports. Let me explain why:- Explanation, explanation, explanation! I am the kind of person who likes to know 'why' to everything. Why am I lifting it this way but not that way? Why am I doing this move with this weight? Why am I keeping these weights as they are now and why and how do I increase them later.. and so on. I always feel like I can ask anything about my training and training details and trainers always give a good explanation as to why and how.- On that note, trainers! They are excellent! They caring and kind and nurturing. What I have noticed is that they work very hard to understand each individual and their specific training needs and then they utilize what they know & understand about each individual to motivate them and to help them get better at their training.- Emphasis on growth and process! Unfortunately, I am the kind of person who likes to push themselves as hard as possible each and every training session. That is something I carry for being an athlete for a very long time but trainers are doing an excellent job at reminding me to take it slow and steady and trust the process and not burn myself out.- Comfort! At this gym, everyone is different, every *body* is different and everyone is coming there for their different needs.- Organization! I can't begin to explain how much I appreciate the extent to which everything is carefully and meticulously organized. You have your stations, your programs, your progression. Organization of the gym and the programs are easy to understand and and adjust to. Trainers make sure organization runs smoothly. Not a gram of chaos in sight--which is last thing I want when I am trying to get away from the world for an hour to just lift. It. is. the. best.I am so happy that I started training here and I can see this training as a long-term commitment for my own sanity and well-being. Trainers are responsive and I know, for a fact, that if I ever want to focus on something, if I ever want to, say, work on a particular injury or a particular issue, they'll be here to help and adjust my program. For example, my dad has a bad back and I will bring him to this gym soon to make sure he works on his back. When I had light injuries, they adjusted the program in a way to not put pressure on that injured place.I would recommend this gym to anyone!

I came in with very low expectations in myself and reaching my own goals.I had next to zero gym experience prior to this, but both trainers have shown me how to lift correctly and confidently, so I don’t injure myself, and to make sure I was seeing progress along the way.Next week will be my 7th month with BST, and I am more than happy with how everything has turned out. My goals were to get stronger, and put on mass and so far I’ve put on 15lbs and I’ve watched the weights fly up on my charts as well.I will definitely be staying with this!Thank you to the coaches for giving me the tools to make my mind and body grow!

I lost a lot of core strength over the last few years and definitely saw changes to my posture and build. I walked into Boston Underground Strength Training with a list of issues I was hoping to address, flexibility, stamina, body image, and generally not feeling great. The coaches at Boston Underground designed a routine that provided a balanced workout and targeted my areas of concern. They design a routine one month at a time, walk you through the exercise, and ensure that you have the correct movements and positioning to maximize your efforts. Then, you build on those exercises the following month and incorporate more advanced activities.I look forward to my strength training sessions, which is not something I felt about exercising before. The coaches are supportive and responsive and push you exactly the right amount to keep progressing. I feel healthier and have gained confidence and rediscovered pride in myself since joining. The biggest change for me was taking back control over my life, something I did not even realize I had lost until recently. I am excited to be part of this community.

I love Boston Underground and can’t recommend it highly enough! The coaches do a great job making every member feel welcome, and developing programs that meet you where you are and are catered to your individual goals. They strike the perfect balance of coaching/guiding/pushing you and letting you do your thing. I’ve progressed so much in my strength and conditioning journey since joining and continue to love starting my day at BUST.

BUST is such a great place, and it's largely thanks to Angel and Angela who go out of their way to create a wonderful experience for their members. I've never felt confident lifting on my own until I started working with them. They've given me endless encouragement + excellent education on how to lift safely & efficiently. Grateful for them + the BU community.
