After a less than ideal experience with a our last vet my fiancé and I brought our cat here, and honestly we were desperate for someone who understood anxious cats. From the start we had an asking experience, I mentioned that our guy was a little spicy and the vet tech said “It’s nothing I can’t handle!” Which put our minds at ease instantly. After a check over, Dr. McMillan called me in to go over our cats history in depth. This was such a kind and caring gesture that showed me they truly care about the whole picture and work with a total understanding of the cats issues. I am happy to share that we have not had to go back since our initial visit due to the great advice and care given to our baby!We will be clients here for a long time! THANK YOU!

Today I took my three legged, reactive dog here for a consult to see if he would benefit from PT. Everyone here was so understanding and patient with my reactive boy, and he's a large dog so it meant the world to us. They had us give him a little bit of medication at a time to calm him down and give him the least restrictive care possible. They talked over several things that would help him with us and recommended PT. I thought I loved this place then. When going to leave, I realized my car battery was dead and two of the techs helped me jump it and refused to let me get them coffee to say thank you. 10/10 everyone here is an angel to humans and animals alike

Dr. McMillan is a phenomenal avian vet. She's always taken the best of care for my ducks and chickens. I would never go anywhere else!

Called them this morning. Spoke with Lena, she cut me off and asked if she could call me back in 20 minutes. Figured they were busy. I never got a call back. Great service.

Dr. McMillan, Lena and team have provided amazing care for my parrots and dog for the last 6 years. Dr. McMillan is one of the best vets I have ever had the opportunity to work with. She's a scientist who considers every aspect of animal care along with the science of medicine and homeopathic solutions as well. Additionally, Lena and team are always accommodating and go out of their way to consider the impact on my experience as a pet mom because I drive 2+hours for my animals to be cared for by Dr. McMillan. Every time I visit a vet closer to my home, I find myself being significantly disappointed by their capability and the care they give my pets. The Windhover team provides the best care for my pet family and I highly recommend them.

Don’t ask for a second opinion or for your records, you will be dropped as a patient. Absolutely unprofessional

My cockatiel was under Windhover's care for 6 weeks. He was diagnosed with high levels of lead in his system, which was wreaking havoc on him. The veterinary assistant, Lena, was wonderful, calling twice a day to check on my bird. After 6 weeks of little to no progress, I called Windhover and stated that I was very happy with their service and intended to continue with them, but that I wanted my bird's records to get a second opinion on what might be going on with him. I stated that I intended to take him to Holmes Veterinary in Walpole. I didn't realize at the time, but Dr. Holmes used to work at Windhover. Windhover sent me my bird's records and informed me that Dr. McMillan, the vet, asked me not to return to the practice. I was told that she had a policy, which is unwritten and of which she does not inform her clients, that if you ask for your pet's records to seek a second opinion that you are immediately discharged from Windhover. I find Dr. McMillan's behavior in this case to be unprofessional, as she is putting her personal feelings about a former colleague ahead of the best interest of her patient. Further, the doctor would not even tell me herself and instead forced her staff to give me the news. her decision to discharge us while my bird , her patient, has a potentially fatal condition leaves us scrambling to find care. I will be taking my business to a more professional veterinarian who I can rely upon as a partner in the care of my pets.

We had just gotten Jellybean, a three month old peach faced lovebird. Jellybean looked unwell, and we called Windhover immediately because our pet supplier recommended them. Even though we live an hour away, and their schedule was full, they said come in. Unfortunately, Jellybean passed on the way. The staff was amazingly caring, and we got attention for our little guy we would not have anywhere else. Dr. McMillan examined Jellybean, and helped us with our grief. Although this is a sad story, we have found our vet, regardless of distance. Our other lovebird Keewee and Sun Conure Picasso now have a new doctor. These are great and loving people, who care about the animals, and their human partners as well. Five Stars!

My lovebirds were showing signs of illness, the staff got me in right away, and were extremely thorough in their questioning to try to figure out what was going on. The Dr herself came out to the car, told me what was going on, and put my mind at ease and my 'babies' on the path to getting better. I am forever grateful.
