On April 6, 2023 our beloved Boxer Thor collapsed and stopped breathing. After a few moments, we were able to get him back and rushed him to Tufts where we would eventually learn he had heart disease and something called Addisons. It was a traumatic experience but the care he received saved his life and put us on a path that we believe gave us an extra 19 months with our best guy. He would have to returned monthly, sometimes more during the next 19 months and during this time, we had the honor of working with Dr. Sonya Karchemskiy for his Addisons and Dr. Hannah Melhorn for his cardio, both of whom we believe are two of the best medical professionals we have ever had the chance to be around in our lives. Dr. Sonya and her team we saw for Thor's monthly shots and they always took good care of him and we appreciate her so much. She always made us feel like we were in good hands and on some of the harder days when Thor was struggling, really spent the extra time as a person to comfort us and help us get through the mental side of having a sick dog. Dr. Melhorn will always have a special place in our hearts. Much like Dr. Sonya's team, complete professionalism to the 10th degree, always had our backs, was always honest and took the time to make sure we fully understood what was going on. Obviously as a heart doctor, we are dealing with some really scary stuff, and Thor's April collapse would not be his last and it was never less scary than the time before. Dr. Melhorn was always there. She made sure we were always taken care of. It's not just that she checked in on us when Thor was staying in the ER on many occasions, she would sometimes even call us from her home. The amount of love and compassion she showed us and especially Thor was next level and we will NEVER forget it. I would not want anyone else if we ever needed to see a vet again. On one of Thor's last ER visits, the ER doctor that was checking in with us said something to us and called her Hannah and I said who is that and she said oh, Dr. Melhorn. I believe Dr. Sonya introduces herself that way because her last name is a little tougher than Melhorn, but this was the first time I had actually realized Dr. Melhorn's name was Hannah and I made a joke with her about it and it was kind of our thing. I bring this up because I believe in professionalism and it was an honor to call her Dr. Melhorn and if she wanted us to it would have been an honor to learn how to say Dr. Karchemskiy every time. I feel like I met Hannah on Thor's last night, though. Thor passed away around midnight on a Saturday night and Dr. Melhorn was not there because, well, it was a midnight on a Saturday night. If I am being honest, we already accepted it was a distinct possibility we wouldn't actually see her again. That's when Hannah showed up. At Midnight. On a Saturday night. She was there for Thor, and even more, us, until his last breath. As a person. With love and compassion for Thor. It meant everything to us. It made one of the hardest nights of our life just a little easier and my wife and I will never forget it and forever be thankful of how special that made us feel. Is Tufts perfect all the time? Of course not. But I believe they try to be and that they really do care. I've had a number of vets and they've always been solid, but few have ever made me feel as comfortable and appreciated the way Dr. Melhorn and Dr. Karchemskiy did and we will be forever thankful. I believe they gave us nearly two more years with our beloved Thor and having seen a little bit behind the curtains having to have to been there too often, I know the money we had to spend here was well worth it. It wasn't cheap, but I know it was fair for the care, love and compassion he received, and the memories we got to make with Thor these last 20ish months have been worth every penny. So thank you to Dr. Melhorn and Dr. Karchemskiy and their teams, but most importantly, thank you to Hannah and Sonya. For being real. For taking care of us. While I am not looking f

Give them $500 for an emergency visit. Was not thanked for our business or for choosing them. Basic customer service could use a brush up.

We brought my Siberian Husky in because she was in distress try to give birth to her puppies. When we got there they gave us an estimate on a c-section/spayed the cost didn't matter it was our dog. They took her right in and was able to help her deliver one and gave us the option to see if we wanted to see if she could try doing the rest naturally but because she had difficulty before we decided to go with the original plan. 10 hours later we picked up our mom and 4 beautiful puppies

A few years ago I adopted my special pet from Texas. His name is Frosty and he is a mixed breed but mostly a Maltese. Frosty was apparently an abused animal and he was found roaming the streets in Texas. When they finally caught him and brought him to the nearest facility he was a total mess. He had cataracts in both eyes and needed to be shaved down since he was extremely matted. He also needed dental work to remove a few teeth. After they groomed him they proceeded with the dental situation. Once that was done he had cataract surgery in both eyes and then he lived in a foster home awaiting adoption. I applied to adopt him and they told me he couldn't travel until they were sure his eyes were healing. Finally after a 3 month wait he arrived by caravan and he then settled into his new home. He required eye drops daily and was doing really great until one eye turned cherry red. I took him to Tufts in Walpole, MA to evaluate the problem. He was being cared for by Dr. Maggio and she informed me that the eye had to be removed. I then scheduled the surgery and they removed the eye. He looked a little rough for a week or two and then bounced back. Frosty is now 12 years old and doesn't miss a thing with that one eye. He is a wonderful pet and I send photos of him to his foster mom in Texas. I love this dog so much and I am very protective of him. He now goes to Tufts for his yearly visit with Dr. Maggio and he is doing great. Thank God for Tufts, the Doctor and staff at this facility1

We had to take my elderly cat Moki here late at night because he was struggling to move eat and drink. It was a very scary and sad process putting our Moki down but the staff was amazing. They were affectionate kind and caring. They made a terrible night just a-little easier. Thank you to everyone who was there for us and helped us, you guys are wonderful. ❤️

They took my dog in pretty quickly but were trying to suggest that I spend another 3-4k to have more tests done. I loved my dog and if there was a chance I would have spent it but he was a 15 year old large dog. His last days would have been in torture if I went through with their suggestion.

Love this place! The doctor we had for our baby girl was so good. She did everything she could to save us money. She knew a million tests weren't gonna help and gave us real options. They did what was necessary and our girl is doing just fine. Back to normal. Thank you, Tufts!

We brought our soon to be ten year old boxer in for shortness of breath and some swollen lymph nodes under his neck out of desperation seeing we could not even get a sick visit with his normal vet. The staff and Dr. KELLY LARABEE, DVM took such amazing care of our sweet boy! She knew right away what she thought was wrong with him before any tests were even ran. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for experienced veterinarians who show care and affection for not only you but your pet!

Great facility, doctors and nurses and very reasonably priced. We have been twice, in one case for an exam and in the second for a simple office procedure. In both cases I was impressed by the caring, thoroughness and the very reasonable price at the end. If only human medicine was this good.

This is the second time I've brought a rat in to be euthanized and the scents of urgency just wasn't there. They took there time with the paper work and didn't bring my rat back immediately when he clearly was in a bad state. I sat in the lobby for a good 20 minutes with my rat that is bloody and dying for everyone to see. I called 20 minutes in advance, Didn't have a room ready or the medication. I felt like almost an inconvenience to have my rat euthanized. It just seems like they don't care enough about rats here. Very sad to have this experience.

Open 24 hours, I arrived at 2 am. Call first because if they are too busy they may not be able to take you. I’m sure they are very accommodating for emergencies. Very friendly front desk and the veterinarians are very nice. I would definitely go back if necessary.

wouldn’t take my dog in for an emergency c section in the middle of the night when a puppy was stuck because i didn’t have 5-7 GRAND up front. what a disgusting thing when i drove an hour in the middle of the night and we lost the puppy due to them worrying about MONEY over my dog/puppies health!!!! if you want a place that cares for your animal don’t go here they care about money and money ONLY
