Hey folks. I think some people misunderstand the exact location of where Wakefield Jewelers is actually located. Please don't confuse him with the Coin Guy on Main St. Wakefield (near the Cigar Guy)
Richie was formerly located on Albion St. in Wakefield but, has since moved into the building where Alano's is. I have another mutual gemologist friend whom I bought my wife's wedding band from. On a whim, I brought a light blue saphire stone into Richie and his wife. I'm not sure how but, after mentioning my other jeweler's name he actually knew everything about this special stone I bought as a necklace. Amazing! Anyway. I gave him the stone because I wanted to make something special for my wife's birthday; maybe a ring perhaps. I know nothing about jewelery, so his darling wife listened to what I wanted for my wife of 28 years the "SOMETHING OLD" gift which she though was lost or stolen many years ago. It was planned to be a special birthday surprise but, because of the dedication and attention Richie puts into every single piece of jewelry that enters his business, The ring was made from scratch which I found amazing. Because I would never trust any other jeweler around ne, I have a new challenge for him to replicate the exact wedding band I gave my wife on her special day after a family member (whom I let live with us during a difficult period in their life) removed it from my home. (I hate the word steal) However, I know Richie is just that person to make another superb piece of memory for my lovely wife.
Thank you Richie.

The owner (Richard) was very rude; unfriendly & unhelpful. He would not fix a simple link in my chain that needed repair and finally told me that if he does repair, I assume all liability, not him. I took it to another jeweler and they fixed it with no issues at all. There are better options everywhere.

Did a fine job fixing a broken chain and altering an earring into a pendant. Sold me a nice silver chain to go with the pendant.

I went in a while back to get a slightly cracked link on my chain repaired and the owner said he'd rather not touch it...HUH? Maybe he could not handle this type of repair? When I asked if he could recommend a jeweler who could fix it, he replied no and he'd only do it if I assumed all the risk...WHAT? He was very rude and unhelpful. I went directly to another jewelry shop in the next town over (Melrose) and they literally fixed it in one day. They also advised it was a fairly common problem with heavier gold chains. There are better jewelry repair shops with better customer service and better jewelers behind the counter out there. Avoid this place to save yourself some time and hassles.

Overcharged only for them to ruin two ring settings due to their complete and utter incompetence in both jewelry repair and communication. Do not let these people touch your jewelry.

I've been doing business with Wakefield Jewlers for 25 years! They are personable and knowledgeable. Service is second to none. I will never go anywhere else as long as they are open.

I dropped off a ring of mine that had a crack in it. They did a fantastic job, and even after only being there once, the woman recognized me immediately when I walked in. They are just so nice and my ring looks better than it did when it was new!

I strongly suggest that you make sure you have a diamond plot; map of inclusions before leaving your diamond here. Then there will be proof if you are presented with a different diamond than the one that was dropped off.

Purchased an ebony and ivory bangle bracelet from the Wakefield Jewelers display case at the Cambridge Antique Market. Was assured the materials as described were genuine. A friend, GIA certification holder, questions the veracity of the claim. Formal appraisal being done. Sad.
