I really love this store because there are great selections, especially for last minute needsHowever today was a a very disappointing experience. I walk in because I just needed 1 or 2 shirts. As soon as I walked in , the women said " sir I have about two minutes, and I've got to get out of here"I replied saying I just need a shirt for tonight and I won't take long..The women again said ," I have to get out of here."Maybe not exact words but pretty close.I said to her, " I have 2 minutes right?"The women again dressed how she has little time and needs to get out of thereI bought 2 shirts , total about $50My shopping was done in less than 2 minutesAnd after the sale, she said to me" You can go out the back door"I felt unwanted and certainly did not feel like a customerI shopped there about 2 to 3 times this summer and both times the GUY that worked there and waited on me was so nice and friendly ( wonderful experience!)I suggest that whoever owns this place or works with this women needs to tell her the following( If you don't want people to walk in 2 minutes before closing , or you have to leave early for an important reason, then lock the door with a sign saying " closed"Once someone walks into the door , they are immediately a CUSTOMERAnd a customer should be treated kind / friendly no matter what plans the employee or owner has AFTER work.I felt like she was upset with me , as if I'm supposed to know before I walked in that she only had 2 minutes.Again if I am able to walk in to the store , I am a customer and should receive pleasant customer serviceThe thing that really prompted me to write this review was when I paid for the 2 shirts and she didn't even apologize, or thank me for making my sale under 2 minutes.Literally my card was charged, $50 and all she said was "you can go out the back door"Someone please have a talk with this womenAbout customer serviceAll I know is that next time I walk in to Alamos and she is there, I will walk out.If the very nice guy is there , I will shop again

Small department store in Wakefield ma. 364 Main StreetThis store has been here forever.I think if you really look you can find some cool finds.Hunt for cool retro stuff. They have ladies, men's and kids. They also have regular sales.I bought a bunch of sweat shirts from there I loved. I was on a mailing list and would get coupons but that stopped. They should start that again. It's a reminder to go in and you get a good deal

Needs an expansion and a major renovation! The place is way to small, nothing like park snows used to be! What happened? What a shame!

This store is like a thrift store of new stuff, and it's usually either a big hit or a big miss. Yes, they have lots of granny clothes, but if you go towards the back they have a whole bunch of Kensie samples for super cheap. Last time I was here, I spent $50 and got 4 dresses and 3 shirts. I don't want to even think about how much the same stuff would have cost at Nordstrom. WHAT A DEAL!

Okay, Alano's as well as Wakefield Center as a whole will bring you back to the 1950's--and quick... It is an old-fashioned looking downtown/center with a lot of the original signs and buildings from a different time...enjoy. Welcome...you are back to the era of Woolworth's and Brigham's (which I am not knocking, as I remember both from childhood). Just setting the scene.... As Rachael made mention of in her review, grandmas would love shopping here (again, not a knock, I love my gramma very much and would take her here anytime!) But, they have stuff for non-grandma-folk too. If I wasn't currently so well-stocked in my wardrobe, I probably would have come out with a few things... ...If the 1950's don't creep you out, you could score here---big time. They have some newer/trendier brands that I know are from TJ Maxx/Marshall's and everything in between all the way over to certified "Mom Jeans" that fit you snuggly and stiffly (they are thick denim) well above the waist. But they are crisp and new and I don't know where they got them! They could sell on Ebay for collectors or fashion historians... Oh...speaking of crisp...I almost forgot...they had all of the ladie's polyester casual pants (circa 1970, like my mom used to wear soooooooooooooooo long ago...) that you could shake a stick at...It made me think that someone might come in in grab them for some play/ period costumes They have men's and children's/baby clothing and it looked good from across the way but I had no desire to investigate. Highlights: Women's sweaters and winter coats were fashionable and veeeeeeeeeeeery cheap! Nice, warm vests.... Some nice purses A plethora of gramma nightgowns, if you are looking for a present for your gramma...
