This was always my favorite store in Vineyard Haven but I just had a terrible experience. I bought a small gift - because it’s a gift shot - and asked if they had any gift bags. It could have been for purchase or even one with the store name on it. Woman at the register told me no and handed me a white paper envelope. Meanwhile, there are gift bags right behind her and some around the side. My husband walked out and asked what we could have possibly done wrong for 1. Her to be so short and 2. For her to lie to my face. Next time, I’ll keep my gift shopping to Edgartown.

I bought a beautifully crafted snow globe for $40.00 that fogged up after 6 months and was unable to view the falling snowflakes .Very disappointed !

Rainy Day is a must stop on your visit to Vineyard Haven. This charming, quaint little store has an eclectic selection of local products that range from home goods, décor, clothing, jewelry & fun trinkets for the whole family. You name it this place has it. Upon entering you are greeted by the arousing aroma of candles, soaps & lotions. The displays are well laid out & thoughtful, filled with personality, almost as if Martha Stewart herself designed the interior. The staff go above & beyond to make your visit memorable. Alyssa gave us a tour of the store & made helpful suggestions & was super accommodating. She even personally wrapped the gift I bought for my sister, it was so sweet! Her bubbly personality & demeaner really set the tone for the store & elevated it that much further. If I could give this business & their staff more than a 5/5 I would. Do yourself a favor & come take a gander at the fine wares they have over here at Rainy Day, you shan't regret it. Your visit to Martha's Vineyard wont be complete until you do.

The items are exquisite. The staff, on the other hand, are easily the snootiest you will find on the island. Second time of gone to make a purchase and not personable in the slightest. You must scream of wealth is my guess to get any kindness from them.

I like popping in here, mostly because I now have two small children and you can find nicely curated gifts, toys, clothes and more, with a solid selection of said goods on sale from last season. Peeking at other reviews, I haven't experienced a brusque or non-present staff, but each day is different - some rainier than others. Is it a destination retail spot? Not necessarily. But if you like pricier goods way better than beachside T-shirt shacks where all things are $7.99, so sez the neon price tag, then Rainy Day is worth a pop in while cruising the Haven's storefront stretch.
