This is for the previous 1star review, by Stan Jarvis, you did not bring the wheelbarrow tire in for repair, Gabriel (Gaby) did, no quote was given to him, he mentioned the tire was ripped and he was told he'd need a new tire and tube, you came in looking for his wheelbarrow tire, and complained about the price.
Lesson number one: never send a child to do a man's job.
You can't go to a business on Martha's vineyard and complain that their prices are too high and have them try to compete with online Amazon / Walmart type of companies, you'll make no friends or business acquaintances that way. If you could get the wheelbarrow tire for $20 delivered to your house you wouldn't have spent the time and money to go to a tire repair shop to get a wheelbarrow tire fixed,
They are moving customers in and out with repairs like no other business on the island,
If as you say in your review "you are consistently the youngest one in the conflict" maybe you might be the problem
You talk about "de-escalation" but then you say you justifiably pushed back there's no justification for that, just say no thank you and leave.
Could have island tire handle it better, yes, but when you degrade and depreciate the work of others and what they charge for it, unfortunate conversations occur.
They will try better next time.

“I don’t need this working class hero nonsense.”
The details of the exchange are pretty boring and uneventful, a room full of adults disagreeing with and trying to talk over one and other in an aggressive manner. Consistently the youngest one in the conflict, I am in constant awe of the complete lack of self control and communication skills that my “elders” possess. The word deescalation has no meaning at Island Tire, they are hot and over-worked and the result is a complete abandonment of professionalism. Children know better than to name call, scream and threaten violence, but the grown men at Island Tire have forgotten.
The very boring and objective details are this; I needed a wheelbarrow tire replaced, I was quoted ~$30, they tried to charge me $70. When I pushed back on the price I said “I’ll pay, but that’s not what I was quoted and Amazon has a replacement for $20.” The woman behind the counter was all shoulders. The men who overheard came over and explained to me how wrong I was and how much more they knew than I did. Drama ensued.
As I put more time between that exchange and myself, I contemplate what I could have done better, where I lost my cool, and how I’ll work harder to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I hope those men -each twice my age- follow suit. We are all working hard, we are all hot, there is no need to lose your cool.
Also, as much as we may disagree, I despise Jeff Bezos more. I hate that I just ordered a tire that will arrive in a few days for $20. I hate it so much. I’m happy to pay double, I’m happy to wait a week, I’m fine that you forgot my name and couldn’t find the tire for a while, but I don’t want to pay triple and I don’t want to catch your prissy little attitude when I justifiably push back on your failure to quote correctly. Do better or Jeffery wins.

Island tire has the best consumer appreciation for a reason! They say “YES” all the time! Island tire knows how to talk to everyone that comes in with an issue, even on the hottest day of the summer! I’m proud to know there is an island business that treats everyone with kindness and respect!

Arrived at 8:45 am with a tire that was slowly leaking air. They took me in right away and patched the tire for a reasonable price. I was in and out within 25 minutes.

As good as it gets. I had a dashboard indicator light telling me I had low tire pressure, which almost always indicates a slow leak/mail in a tire situation. Drove into Island Tire on a holiday weekend. I thought I’d be stuck there for hours and at the very least sold a new tire. Instead, they got to my car in 35 minutes, ran pressure tests on all four tires and electronic diagnostics. They determined that the electronics of my 2024 simply needed to be reset, which they did in mere minutes. Bang I was on my way out. The woman managing the desk ran it with great politeness and military precision. Great garage staff. Best such place I have ever experienced…highly recommend.

Great experience yesterday and always. I have been going to Island Tire for many years and always great service. I called yesterday as the air in my tire kept deflating so I wanted to order 2 new rear tires. I was told to come in to check the tire first before replacing the tires. Long story short.... I went there right away and they fixed my deflating tire as soon as I arrived with no wait time.....I did not need to purchase 2 new rear tires! Yeh!The service for repairing the tire was right away and very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for sure!

I asked for a simple oil change which previously had cost me approximately a $120... they came back with a $279 bill and said something about how they changed the filters and did this and that cause it really needed it. I was very shocked and said that you should notify people before you do this kind of work and she just shrugged and said yeah I'll let the guys know . I paid it although I still don't think I should have.

I'm getting ready to move across the country. I called yesterday to see if I needed an appointment (leaking tire and tread check) and they explained they are first come first serve. I came in this morning and within 30 minutes the staff called to let me know I needed a quick patch and treads were fine for the long mileage. Staff was so accommodating and kind! Highly recommend.

I’ve been attempting to get in contact with this place after they put my spare on and told me they’d call me in a few days when my new tire they’re ordering comes in. I went on a Friday and they said they’d call me Monday. It’s been 2 weeks and they haven’t once called me, answered the phone, or returned my voicemails. Feeling very unsafe driving around on a spare longer than I should be. Their hours are impossible if you work a regular job (8:30-4 M-F with 12-1 off for lunch). My next step may have to be taking time off work again to swing by, which could be a total waste because I don’t even know if my tire is in. I’ve tried going somewhere else but every mechanic on the island says they don’t do tires and points me here. Extremely dissatisfied and wish there were better options on the island.

Great service mounted and balanced tires onto wheels for wrx. Look no further for your tire needs. The greatest feature was the customer service, something you don’t find everyday on the island.
