Please do not go by the recent reviews. Look at the old ones. Absolutely horrendous experience. First fitting we went over all alterations. I came back 6 weeks later and she only hemmed it. I asked her about all the other alterations and she said she will do it by the next time I come in , and that shes been busy with prom season, overbooked. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. She had my dress another 3 months and I came in 5 days before my wedding and NOTHING was done to it, they also misplaced the dress but eventually found it in the back somewhere. I told her I would wait in the shop while she made the necessary alterations because I live further away, I overheard that she was going through something personal, so I was still kind and gave her the benefit of the doubt AGAIN. I took the dress home and when I put it on to adjust with my bra I noticed the boning(plasric that holds uo the too of the dress) she added fell out. All the seams were slowly starting to unravel. I called her at the shop and started explaining what was going on to see if she could help me and the first sentence out of her mouth was “it’s not MY fault”. I wouldn’t have been so upset if she said I’m really sorry that’s happening to you, please come in and let’s see if we can fix it but instead, she started getting really angry saying that it’s not her fault and that I must’ve done some thing to the dress for all the seams to come out. So long story short I had to buy a dress online and wear that for my wedding day. I went in the other day to ask for a refund and once again she continued to get mad and blame me. If you read the older reviews, it pretty much sums up exactly what happened to me and I as I was leaving the shop another bride was in there picking up her dress and they couldn’t find it either. Please dont risk your wedding dress by going here. At the beginning, I just wanted accountability and understanding and was not given that.

Maria is the best! I brought my wedding dress, MOH dresses and mothers dresses to her to be altered for my wedding. She has an eye for detail and made the process super simple! She showed me different options for my bustle and provided her recommendation on what would be best. She added sleeves to my mother's dress and used lace detailing on a shawl to add more details to her dress. She also fixed my mother-in-law's dress on a time crunch, which was botched by different seamstress. Excellent experience!

I went to Maria to alter my wedding dress and she was great! Every appointment I had with her was super quick and efficient. She offered ideas but also listened to exactly what I wanted. Not to mention she’s one of the sweetest people. My dress was huge on me when I first went to her but by the time I picked it up it fit me perfectly. I would absolutely go back to her with all my altering needs!

Maria came highly recommended by my bridal shop, Tulle in Andover and I am so grateful to have found her, she and her team were excellent and she didn’t bat an eye when I told her I had 4 dresses for my wedding weekend that would need tailoring. They all came out so beautifully and I had such a fun time at the fittings, what impeccable work! 10 out of 10 for service and quality!

Maria is something else - She is very busy and I can see why - Her work is impeccable. We visited this shop on the recommendation of Tulle Bridal and I'm so thankful for the referral. Maria was able to take my vision of adding purple to the back of my dress and it was the talk of the wedding! Everyone loved how unique it was and how well it blended into the dress. As a side note, my maid of honor found her dress off the rack in her size and purchased it at my fitting. The help and care we received during our fittings was just spectacular. They took care of alterations for my dress, my maid of honor, my daughter (junior bridesmaid), our senior flower girl/junior bridesmaid, and a dress to be hemmed for my daughter at the rehearsal dinner. We were a crowded pack for those fittings but they were so kind and gracious!I'm very thankful for all of their care and their expert seamstress work!!

I seriously could not have asked for a better experience with my dress alterations - I originally purchased a sleeveless dress and some extra lace and mesh and they completely made my illusion lace dream come true!! I really felt like Maria listened to everything that I said and I truly thought the end result was perfect. The prices were totally reasonable as well!

I had a pleasant experience bridal dress shopping at La Scala Bridal Shoppe. Maria and Anne are two compassionate and intelligent women, and helped one another run the boutique that day. As a smaller boutique, they paid me significant 1-on-1 attention, and worked diligently to help open my mind to various dress styles and textures. Both women shared bridal dress tips and tricks with me as well which I am incredibly grateful for. I will use this knowledge moving forward, and certainly on my wedding day!During my appointment, I learned and witnessed the incredible work that Maria is able to do, both as a designer and a seamstress. She can enhance dresses with additions (e.g. ruching, bows, belts), change sleeve styles (e.g. add a cap sleeve), and completely alter a dress look (e.g. take away excess material to change the style from princess to A-line).My one critique was that this boutique did not have bridal dresses in my size. I have broad shoulders and a broad back, so my bridal dress size was higher (12-14) than my typical dress size (8-10). The dresses ran small, which made trying on dresses and visualizing the complete look more difficult.Notwithstanding, I recommend La Scala Bridal Shoppe!

I did not have a good experience with this shop as a bride and warn other brides of going here. Ultimately, my dress worked on the day of the wedding but it was an incredibly stressful process and I did not feel I was treated well in the end. Maria (the owner) clearly is talented but there was a lack of care and follow-up with the bridal fittings. I came here as a recommendation from my bridal shop (Tulle). The fitting was done over 3 months out from my wedding, which I learned is way too early as weight fluctuates and should be done much closer and have multiple sessions. The fitting was only 30 minutes and she split her time with other customers. The space was also shared so other people saw me in my dress, there was no privacy and I didn’t get enough attention. I went back for other reasons (try on undergarments) and pointed out concerns I had about the dress and fixes I wanted done. I was treated like I was overreacting and my concerns were not addressed. Three days before the wedding I went to pick it up and there were multiple issues including stains and unfinished stitching. The dress was also too big and did not fit well around the bust, which I had mentioned to her before. I had to push Maria multiple times to fix these things. It was horrible and very stressful. I also paid a lot of money for these alterations. This ended up being a huge sore spot in wedding planning and took away my happiness with my dress on my wedding day. I also was not happy with how my bust looked. Overall, I’m sure the service used to be better here, but I do NOT recommend any bride go here for a fitting.

My wife call this shop La Scala Bridal shop in Tewksbury, MA to get her dress altered. They told her to bring her shoes she was going to wear with her dress. Which she did. At her appointment she put on her dress with the shoes. They seamstress did not same anything to her about her shoes. We picked up the dress They had her try the dress on with her shoes again and charge her $80.00 again she did not say anything about her shoes. My daughter's wedding was 3 days later. On the day of the Wedding my wife put the dress on and within 10 minutes the whole hem came out that this shop did, luckily we had someone that had some pins and fabric tape to fix it for the wedding. On Monday she call the shop to tell them what happen and the shop owner knew exactly what happened and did not even care. She told my wife it was her fault because of the shoes she wore. This woman has been doing this for years she should have seen the shoes she was wearing put in a better stitch that would had lasted. This places is to expensive and her work is shoddy. I would not recommend anyone to go to her she does not stand behind her work. For her it's quantity not quality. She is only in this business for the money not customer satisfaction. if I could give this shop zero stars I would, but the system will not let me
