If you want to be completely ignored after filling out an application, this is the place for you. I filled out an application at the end of Aug 2024 and it is now Nov 9th, 2024. I received the auto reply confirming receipt of my application and have not heard once from them. In the meantime, there are dogs that were on their site when I applied, and those same dogs are still listed.

I haven't been in many years and apparently it's by appointment only now. I came to make some donations and had my elderly relative with me who was excited to see some cats, we were almost disappointed but the nice woman let us in for a quick visit. Very much appreciated!

Would have bn fine , I wasn’t aware you now nd appointment cause I simply punched into GPS. I understand and told the rude woman at door this . She couldn’t give me 30 seconds also said no young cats and we won’t get any until summer if at all? I’ve always donated in the past when going to Buddy dog .we also got my mom a dog 2 yrs back everyone was so nice. My mom still donates dearly yr after yr . It’s a shame one bad apple changes thing especially when it’s a great thing. I won’t be returning or referring my loved ones or friends to that type of treatment. Sorry

I’m posting this on my old google account.Anyway, I don’t have much experience with cat adoption, but this place was a HOT MESS. Me and the whole family (annoying) and the dogs came just to be there for 10 minuets before being told “no.”We were promised that we would be the only family there. However, we came in the entrance and waited in the lobby. There was a random dog behind a baby gate and a growling something in a closed off room. The cat we were there to adopt was also in the lobby??? And one of our dogs was nervous (as expected). She and the cat made eye contact, and the cat hissed (understandable.) She was already freaked out, but now she was focused on the strange new animal also. Our other dog was really only interested in the people, but upon noticing the cat, was a little curious. We were waiting on a “swat test,” to see whether or not the dogs would respect a cat’s boundaries. That didn’t happen. If you anything about animals (cats or dogs), this introduction should sound like a nightmare. And it was. This set neither party, cat or dogs, up for success.Back to being promised we were the only family, while our dogs are investigating the new information that is a cat (on leash btw) out walks two random people who were in a prior visit. Our nervous dog was extremely overstimulated at this point. She was making all her best ear piercing sounds. Even I was overstimulated at this point. There were also two other volunteers sitting around in the lobby that came out with the couple. The guy giving “the test” eventually basically says “no, not gonna work, sorry.” I anticipated this the second I stepped foot in there. Yes, obviously they were going to fail. He also brought out a different random cat at some point that tolerated the chaos better than the cat we were there for.Michel was still busy at the counter with the couple so we just left. We were told on zoom after we were done testing the dogs that we could go into the cat room to actually get to know the cat without our dogs. Michel was the only one there who knew our situation (we live in a house were we could separate the dogs and a cat 24/7) and it didn’t really matter if the dogs hated cats, but we were just told sorry by the cat test guy. And so we left.I left feeling very confused. I’m still confused. That felt like a waste of time. If they reached out to us to check in, that would be great. But so far they haven’t.If you’re going to adopt a cat with dogs who have never met a cat, plan on them failing the test. No normal dog would be able to pass in a situation like that.
