The techs were polite, compassionate and professional. Dr Gregoire was awesome. Very professional, answered all my questions, explained things in a way I could understand and thorough. I didn’t feel rushed and she listened to what I was saying. Everyone was definitely an asset to the business. The ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well. Great experience.

absolutely disgusted with how Sturbridge Vet is now managing the care of their patients. My dog has been going there for 3 years now and today at his appointment they decided that he’s too scary and we’re too afraid to do anything. Granted he is an English Mastiff and weighs 180lbs but he has always been good for the vet and he gets excited to go. Today the tech was too afraid to even go near his face and they wanted to immediately muzzle him. My dog has no record of being aggressive at the vet and was showing no signs of aggression this vet visit. He wanted to sit while they did his blood draw and only wanted to get blood from a back leg when all other times he has had them drawn from the front with no issues. Now they want him to be medicated to go in which is insanity. Sturbridge Vet has gone down hill since Dr Mak and Dr Kidd have left. I have called around to switch his care immediately. Maybe go here if your animal weighs 5lbs do they are not afraid to actually perform the wellness exam.

Terrific and caring team- techs and vets- always feel their love for the animals. Through many recent personnel changes, - retiring vets etc-
Quality of care remains very, very high!

Our experience here over the last year or two was consistently unprofessional and borderline unethical. We have had issues with the front desk staff and communication for the three years we have gone here but tolerated it because we had a great vet. Since he has left our care has taken a nose dive. Some patterns of things we have experienced include but are not limited to:
1. Not a single attempt at rapport building with our dogs. Which resulted in moving right into poking and prodding my dog who was then muzzled (8 years old with no previous need to be muzzled during care and no bite history).
2. Many instances of front office staff lacking information and asking ME what medications and dosages they should be ringing up for me.
3. Other vets barging into my appointments to discuss other patients or needs with the vet working with me.
4. Disregard for concerns about my dogs, zero instances of collaboration in their care, and finding out from front office staff how the vets planned to proceed with their care (referrals elsewhere) and never hearing about it from the vet.
5. Diagnosing and treating my dogs WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE PROBLEM AREAS.
I did attempt to communicate my frustrations and resolve them directly with the staff and facility. I was brushed off more than once. They did not attempt to correct the poor communication and mediocre care. As a result I have transferred their records and will be happily driving them 45 minutes away so they can be taken care of. I am relieved they have been treated much better since leaving and are much happier and healthier.
I feel an obligation to make sure others receiving this care know they are not alone and encourage them to advocate for adequate care elsewhere.

We have been bringing our animals to the Sturbridge Veterinary Clinic since 1984 and wouldn't choose to go anywhere else. Whether for annual checkups, emergency care, or sadly for end of life choices, our animals have received kind, thorough and compassionate care.

We were fortunate to get a same day appointment for our older dog with Dr. Johnson. This was a great surprise! Once again our experience was terrific. Dr. Johnson’s demeanor calmed our very anxious and upset dog and he assessed her thoroughly yet quick. It was great to see her relax a bit while Dr. Johnson spoke with me about the health issue. I appreciated the couple of directions he offered with regard to choices in how to help her. He also respected decisions I made regarding her health and he listened to me. The front desk, veterinary techs, and the vet were fantastic. I have had difficulty scheduling appointments here recently and have had to bring dogs somewhere else. As mentioned previously it was a great surprise that in this situation, my dog was seen same day. I really want to support Sturbridge Vet. The care our animals have received over the years has been outstanding.

I have expressed my concerns regarding our dog for over a year. He has had a large lump on his stomach, and increasingly has little bumps all over his body. He is seen frequently for his thyroid. This should have been caught. I took him to a second vet office for another opinion, and FIRST VISIT he was diagnosed with CANCER. Over a year here from this vet, nothing. I'm very disappointed, having been at this vet since 2005/2006. Will not be returning.I find the vet we worked with to be rude and has terrible bedside manners. I hope we can still save our dog after catching it this late.
