65 Berkeley St, Boston“The owners of the Picture Store were great to work with. The shop has a large stock of options to choose from and the owners were very knowledgable and thoughtful in helping us choose the right frame for a very large oil painting. The framing was beautifully done and ready on time and they offered to go above and beyond to help us with some logistics of dealing with this large canvas. We recommend this shop very highly.”
“Always good to see innovation and creativity within our Beautiful community ❤ ? with all that's going on with so many current and past abusers being put on social media blast it'll be nice to throw some awareness style art to make kids and parents aware”
“Beautiful space showcasing local artists. Small venue is perfect after a lunch or between activities. Spend 20-30 minutes unless shopping stunning finely crafted pieces for sale. Finds include jewelry, wood works, toys and decor pieces in pottery and paintings.”
“My first time at Brickbottom Studios was about 8 years ago. My friend Wally Gilbert has an art studio there. In 1980 he won a Nobel Prize for developing one of the first methods to rapidly sequence DNA. Wally ran a laboratory at Harvard University. Wally also founded 2 companies Biogen and Myriad.Since he has retired from becoming a great Artist. Using a 2 megapixel camera Wally Gilbert started taking Pictures of colorful objects and architectural features that caught his eye throughout Europe. In art and science Wally craves discovering something new. I highly recommend you check out Wally’s fabulous art!!!”
“This gallery should be on every collector’s radar! The art is innovative and ever-changing. I recently went to their ‘New Horizons’ NFT exhibition, which was the first ever in Boston. The event was a huge success, there was a DJ and a generous selection of drinks at an open bar. It was very fascinating being able to interact with the artists and their work. I highly recommend checking out the featured NFTs while they’re still displayed.”
“Architecture by Le CorbusierThe building here is more meaningful than the exhibition.Born in Switzerland in 1887, he was an important figure in architecture. He is not simply a person who left behind beautiful buildings, but a pioneer in architectural theory who broke the stereotypes of existing buildings and created new techniques for modern architecture. For example, a building is expressed with exposed concrete.A person who influenced Tadao Ando”
“I exhibit here. It is a wonderful gallery featuring hundreds of artists. There is something for any buyer with an eclectic collection of exhibitors. Moreover, the themed exhibitions are thoughtful, humorous, and presented with artistic flair and found objects juxtaposed with art for sale. The owners are really nice artistic people. Their victorian home transforms into a huge gallery where you really get a feel for how art might look in the buyers' own home.”
“Delightful place and people (or maybe I was just starved for conversation with some fellow designers?) Either way, thank you for providing the opportunity, Michael!!”

607 Boylston Street Second Floor, Boston“I have been a collector of rare books for 3 decades and have never been in a shop with such fine employees. I brought my 20 yo son who had never been in a similar setting and they immediately attended to him and helped him to feel comfortable and appreciated. While they are not the largest antiquarian bookstore the volumes they own are carefully curated and chosen for people with budgets from $50 to $50,000. I have no other relationship to them except as a customer and get no discount for my opinion (I wish!). Much luck to them. Ask to see the Picasso miniature!! Jim”
“We got our Ketubah for our wedding from Kolbo. We loved the selection and variety to choose from. The staff was so helpful and patient with us. We especially appreciated Miriam's help proofreading our ketubah before printing. On other trips, we also got our breaking glass and a gorgeous Havdalah set too.”
“I volunteered at the Boston Art Book Fair and it was a great experience. The environment is really positive even when it’s busy and I got to chat with some of the exhibitors and there was so much cool work to see.”
“I loved working with Corrine and Brian! They were super helpful in getting everything together for me. After an unpleasant experience with another store / lost package / no follow-up and delay of refund, this store came to the rescue...Thanks ya'll!”

“It's an absolutely beautiful space for an event catering Great Space great location book it for one of your gatherings ask for Ashley she's one of the representatives”
“I work nearby and have been to Portal a few times to pick up gifts for others (and 1 for myself). To stay the staff is friendly and knowledgably is a massive understatement. Worth a trip for something different and engaging.”
“I met Tom a while back at New England Comics a few doors over from his shop. Great guy, down to earth comic nerd and super framer. I follow xmen pretty hard core. SO I have a pretty extensive collection of books and original pen and ink drawings. Guess where I had them framed? needless to say we geeked out over marvel stuff while framing my stuff. Now I can hang them on the wall to enjoy everyday. Thanks dude!”
