We worked with your produce team for 17 days and they were great we bought 10-12 flats of strawberries and a box of bananas every day and they were great to work with we do have one complaint which isn’t their fault but we lost a lot of bananas with black spots and soft totally mush we threw a couple boxes away totally We hope to work with you again next year koodos to Big Y West Springfield

The store is being remodeled and updated which is great but their food and prices are unbelievably high… first the produce especially the cucumbers are far from fresh. I find better quality produce at our local save alot and lower prices. The eggs are over priced well most the store is over priced which is why i reported this specific location to our AG office for price gouging. I bought a meatball/pork hamburger mix a few weeks ago had to return it because even though it looked fresh it smelled as if something died in the package (i still have my receipt from returning it) I told the employer that this is a bigger problem and they should inspect the whole batch but I was ignored and they never removed or inspected it. I suggest going to stop and shop because at least the quality of produce is worth the money. Other than this I can say the employees are very professional and helpful. The quality of employees is better than the quality of produce in my opinion.

Been shopping in this store for years. The renovations are very nice but I have to say that the cooler doors on the dairy isle are very hard to maneuver for a handicapped person. If they slid it would be easier. Opening them out while you are in a scooter is almost impossible.

Recently moved to Chicopee and I was pleasantly surprised to find this small but beautifully packed sushi bar inside the Big Y on St. James. On my first visit I picked up a chef sampler small plate for my lunch and was so glad. The sushi tasted so fresh, clean and delicious. It was in fact much better than some restaurant sushi and the price too is very reasonable. The gentleman working there was very helpful and friendly. He let me know that I could customize my order. So the second time I went there, I ordered a plate of veggie rolls, and I was extremely impressed and satisfied. My husband and daughter also enjoyed it very much. Just thought of sharing now our new favorite sushi place.

Everything is always fresh. The World Class brand is top quality for most foods & non-food items. At least the ones I've tried, i.e. meats, cheeses, shampoos. I love the deli here. It's clean. They have a good variety of meats, cheeses & some foods. They slice my meats perfectly every time, exactly how I request it. I'm a tough crowd bc I'm used to NY style perfectly thin or shaved deli meats & perfect sandwiches that I grew up with. It just really makes all the difference in a sandwich when the meat is sliced right. Right?
I can't wait until they finish renovations & open the pizza shop & food court. If you don't already know, Big Y makes some of the best pizza around this city, and the price is right.

I love the local produce selection and how clean the stores always are.
BUT, every time I by their famous 3-ft grinder for my family, the bread is extremely stale. SERIOUSLY, 4 of the last 4 times, so I won't be buying those anymore.
