Being newer to New England, I always hunt for renovated and modern stays. Bluebird Parker delivers with clean and comfortable rooms. Staff was friendly and property was quiet. Beaches across the street are convenient with warmer waters of the Nantucket Sound. I suggest walking up the coast for a nice spot without seaweed depending on time of year. It’s a nice walk regardless. Seafood restaurant next door was nice to get takeout for beach picnic across the street. Location is convenient to mid cape attractions. Only nit is the coffee bar was pretty basic (eg tasted like Boston beans with limited non dairy creamer). And yes, fridge is small but I read that on other reviews so didn’t have missed expectations.

We recently stayed at Bluebird for a few days. The location is amazing, just a short walk to a public beach. The pool is a good size and beautiful. The rooms are beautifully decorated but a tight fit for a family of 4. The bed frame was an issue for us as we kept hitting our legs on it. The chandelier light between the beds is too low and we kept bumping into it. The fridge is extra tiny and doesn't fit much. Also a huge problem was the bathroom windows. Although they are frosted you can see right through them. We were putting our boys into their car seats and facing the lodge and they got an eye full of a guest drying off after her shower.I'd recommend staying here as a couple but not with little ones. And please cover your bathroom window with a towel.

Clean hotel room and hotel. Comfortable bed and nice updated rooms! Beautiful pool in the center of the hotel, so private to hotel guests. ( : Walking distance to Parker's Beach (literally right there) and centrally located mid cape! If you need anything, Greg is the best customer service agent I have ever worked with in a hotel chain or anywhere! ( : Took care of any and all my hotel needs within minutes! ( : The whole stay was awesome, and wewould definitely stay at Blue Bird hotels again! ( :Walkability: Walking distance to Parker's Beach. A great family friendly beach with huge playground! ( ;

Do not let the photos and marketing fool you! This is not a fully-renovated, modern hotel, it is an old, run-down motel with some new paint and superficial furnishings. It is very clear the "remodel" was low-budget. As soon as we checked in we started feeling uncomfortable about the accommodations.At first glance the room looked nice enough, but as we walked through the room some glaring issues became apparent starting with:1. Doors are not secure. No interior security latch, light weight and old, don't fully seal letting in bugs, noise, and light2. Bathroom had obvious water damage and black mold (photo included). Room #1233. Vinyl flooring was dirty and sinking in many placesAs we tried to settle in further other issues related to comfort and function hampered our interest in staying (many of which mentioned in other reviews):1. Mini fridge is MINI - literally room for two cans, its almost unbelievable2. No where to sit or place belongings. Beds serve as the ONLY seating (which is unpleasant, especially in a sandy place like the cape).3. Windows are old with no screens, letting in bugs and noise.4. Lack of privacy on 1st floor with pool area just feet away. Also lots of noise from 2nd floor.Taking all this in within our first 20min of checking in, we had solidified our decision to shorten our stay. We had planned to stay two nights at Bluebird and truly didn't want to stay any nights after checking in. Unfortunately, with limited alternative options on the Cape, we ended up staying one night - requesting a refund on our second night. The one positive I can say is that Greg, the manager, did accommodate that request with only a little hassle/push back. After visiting our room with us and viewing the mold in the bathroom, he agreed to the refund and moved us to a new room on the 2nd floor that was a *bit* nicer (primarily, no mold). However, we still walked away from that interaction feeling let down by the following:1. Lack of apologetic approach or reassurance that the first room was not acceptable to their standards.2. Offered to help us move our luggage to the new room on 2nd floor on the other end of the motel, but disappeared and never followed throughProceed with caution!Safety: Doors to the rooms are not secure, do not have an interior security latch.

We really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately had a terrible experience. First of all, it didn't list anywhere on the website that their lobby closed at 8:00pm, which seems bizarre for a Saturday in the middle of the summer, in a popular area. So at 7:55 we received a text stating the lobby was closing at 8:00 and our keys were in the mailbox. I was super uncomfortable with this, as anyone had access to the mailbox and our room # was written right on the envelope. But luckily we arrived just 10-15 minutes later. Upon arriving to our room, as soon as I moved a throw pillow from the bed, a big flew out and landed on the blanket. Just seconds later my mother noticed another bug on the bed frame of her bed. We called the main fence number and minutes later he arrived, and showed us to a different room. Before putting our stuff down, we checked out this new rom to ensure there were no bugs but sure enough- 3 dead bugs... one on the bed frame and 2 on the ground. The workers response: "the vacuum can't reach the entire area around the bed." We then called for a manager and reported to the lobby, where we expected a refund. We then spent 1.5 hours in the lobby waiting for ANYTHING to happen. The manager on the phone said she had left for the night and was not returning and the other manager was "off site". The two main maintenance men trying to "help" (very rudely!) attempted a refund, but ended up refunding me only 1 cent instead of the over $1000 I had already paid. We called corporate the next day and dealt with them for over an hour. Luckily the corporate manager Chris was very helpful, and did give us a voucher and a refund. However the refund was via a mailed check, so I had to wait almost 10 days to receive it. Overall, it was an awful experience. This place could be great... awesome location, rooms looked nice, etc. but they have a lot of work to do as a business.

The pictures on the website represent the place better than it is. The pool area is very small and there is no poolside shower. The water in the room in the morning was too cold. Probably because everyone showers at the same time - evening showers worked fine. Our bathroom door could not be closed. The door simply didn't fit into the frame. We were there for two nights, but our room was not cleaned on the second day - turns out, rooms are only cleaned upon request. Good if you are being told. We did not know.. And the bedlinen are, well, not linen, but 100% polyester. On the positive side: the staff (only at premise during the day) is friendly and helpful.

We thought this place was quant and nicely renovated. Lounging by the pool was lovely and access to the beach was great! There was an issue with the locks not being secure and we let the staff know. They seem concerned about the issue and hopefully it was fixed.We did stay here almost a year ago, but a list of activities in the area would be nice. We found the recommendations a bit slim.

I'm a big fan of Lark Hotels and thought I would try out their Bluebird "sister" property while in Cape Cod. The location is great...right across the street from beach access and walking distance to a nearby restaurant. Also only 15 mins from Hyannis Port if you are taking a ferry out to the islands, which was great. The property itself is definitely dated and could use some TLC. Windows were a bit run down and had no screens, so there were some small bugs in room when I arrived. The bedding was super comfy, and room has a Smart TV and working air conditioner to keep it cool in summer. Check-in was a bit slow, but front desk staff were nice. I was in a room near the lobby, so I accessed via that door but was not told that the lobby locked after hours, so I had to go around the property to get back in at night. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and the location. It's definitely more motel-vibes than other Lark properties I've stayed at, but great if you're budget minded and busy out doing activities all day!

Great for a quick overnight affordable stay. We stayed for our anniversary to just have a nice dinner out on cape. This place is very cute and comfortable. The hotel staff and personal touches were really nice. The beach is across the street and close to many restaurants.

The rooms aren't kid or family friendly and presented hazards. The door stops were rusty and or the rubber stops came off them - a hazard to infants and toddlers. Doors don't have latches so toddlers can easily exit. Floors were not clean. Pool towels not easily accessible. Bed frames are an interesting shape but hazard to crawling babies. Bathroom was missing conditioner when we arrived and I didn't notice until after I started to wash my hair. Tub has no mat or grip bottom so it's very slippery. TV has good access to watch stuff. Staff was generally friendly but not the most personable. Location is absolutely dynamite, couldn't have been better. Pool was phenomenal. Parking easy. Food close and quick. Mini fridge is extra extra mini. Lots of hooks on the wall which was great for drying clothing. On-site shop lacks a good variety of snacks but does have some great finds. One outlet had concerning gaps. Overall we were happy with our stay but areas could be improved to make it more family friendly.

Not even close to being worth the price of the room..I will say Both women we encountered at the desk during our stay were exceptionally kind and inviting and the room was very clean. The short walk to the beach was a perk as well. When we arrived to check in around 4:30-5 we were told the front desk closed at 6, but at booking the website says check-in was between 4-7pm, we were glad we had been running well ahead of schedule because we didn't originally expect to arrive until 6-6:30!Where Parker Beach Lodge really falls short is in the most basic of creature comforts. The shade that faces the lighted walkway does not even come close to filtering out enough light, the room remained so bright it was like trying to sleep at 6pm all night long. Horizontal space is at a minimum so You're constantly unsure of where to put anything. The fridge is too small to even hold a single box of leftovers - at best you'll be able to squeeze in a few cans of soda. There is no vanity space in bathroom to comfortably style your hair. My shower was cold, my husband was able to take a warm shower about 45 minutes later but even his water could have been hotter.I had requested a top floor room during booking, I'm unsure if my request was ignored or just not possible to accommodate but because of having 1st floor room we heard stomping around until atleast 10pm, and was awoken by it at 5am.I couldn't see being able to stay more than 2 nights at PBL. I was exhausted after only a one night stay.

AMAZING! Had the best impromptu getaway with my partner and our puppy, Winston! Love how dog friendly the hotel was. Across the street from a very peaceful and relaxing beach as well as a 5 minute walk to a really solid American seafood restaurant. Will be back!

First time here…although it was a cloudy weekend and we did not get to the beach, the location was literally across the street from the beach. Cute check in area and helpful staff. The room was clean and modern, and the pool area was nice.Our issue was mainly with the room furnishings and “set-up”. Simply said, aside from the bed, there was nowhere to sit in the room. No sofa, no chair, no desk…nothing. Outside of every room was a small table and two chairs surrounding the pool, and I get that in the summer maybe the vibe is hang outside, meet your neighbors, have a drink. Not having anywhere other than sitting on the bed in the room was uncomfortable. There were also only 2 lights in the room, on each side of the bed, and the tables on the sides of the bed were out of reach to be practical. The floor was also pretty lumpy.I also had an issue in the pool area. ALL of the doors into the pool are broken, and I just wanted to sit by the poo for an hour the night we got there (when the weather was nice). The front desk person had to let me in, and then after an hour, I literally could not get out. One gate was locked with a chain, a second was electronic (and did not work), and the third had that “pull-up” bar on the outside (which the attendant used to let me in), but there was no gate handle on the inside. I did not have my phone with me, so had to MacGyver my wrist through the gate to pull up on the outside bar to extricate myself. Odd.These guys bought an old Cape motel in a good location and did a nice job freshening it up, but it feels “unfinished” a bit.

We were alerted the day before that the pool would not be open. This is something that would have been nice to know, beforehand, as we wouldn't have booked here if that was the case. The manager on duty stated he would refund us, but we have still not received the refund.Two of the lights in the room did not work.One of the beds in the room was made incorrectly with the flat sheet OVER the duvet.During our check-in process, the front desk seemed extremely frazzled by what was going on as there were other people trying to check-in or complain about their rooms.Great location, but unfortunately due to the obscene number of problems that occurred during our two-night stay, we will not be returning.

Spent two nights at the Bluebird Parker Beach Lodge earlier this week for my wife's first visit to the Cape and my first visit in 20 years.What I love most about BPBL is its location, the vintage beach aesthetic and good value. For a newer hotel, I expected some kinks along the way, but this hotel has a lot of potential and I see it getting better and better over time. Overall, I was very happy with our stay and would recommend it for people who want to stay near the beach who also want to keep a moderate budget and avoid the creepy, more rundown options.Pros:+ Location. South Yarmouth is a good central location on the Cape if you don't want to be too far away. Located across the street from Parker Beach, the hotel is on a quiet main road near residential areas that make for relaxing walks and minimal street noise. Just a mile from Rt. 28, so a quick drive to anything you would need.+ Beach. I really liked Parker Beach. Smaller, but has everything you need: clean, fine sand, suitable bathrooms, a nice playground, clean, swimmable water, great views up and down the coastline...a versatile beach great for families, solo or couples. A nice crowd without being crowded...no reason to go to any other beach.+ Staff. The check-in process was easy and the front desk was friendly and helpful. The cleaning crew is meticulous and methodical. I also liked how their text service made it easy to ask simple questions+ Front desk. I liked how it had a lot of little extra items in case you needed something: snacks, frozen meals, ice cream, beach stuff. Simple, but set up nicely...charming lobby.+ Design. A simple, yet beautiful room that was clean and well-attended for. The lightning was pretty and I really liked the hooks along the wall, which was a functional, yet beautiful design choice. Just a relaxing space with beautiful natural light coming in from the morning (I believe our room faced east).Cons:- Bed. Maybe it was just our room, but our bed was uncomfortable. It was almost crested: the center was the high point and it angled downward on both sides. It's a simple fix that will go a long way.- Bathroom. While I loved their soaps/shampoo and general look of the bathroom, the hot water took a few minutes to kick in and there was no space on or near the sink for toiletries. Also, the toilet paper was placed very close to the ground, making for an odd reach, when it was needed.- Kitchenette area. While it was nice having an additional sink space outside the bathroom to prep snacks and simple meals before going to the beach, but coffee machines are needed, especially for us who planned on waking up early and getting out of the room prior to the lobby opening. Also, our mini-fridge was a refurbished mini-bar fridge, so it was designed oddly and made it really hard to store anything, even a few cans of drinks. Please swap out the old mini-bar fridges for actual mini-fridges.- Doors let in a lot of noise. We were fortunate to stay in a room that was on the outer edges of the motel, but when people were outside, a lot of noise came in. Not sure how this could be fixed and it's kinda the nature of staying at any motel...maybe a door upgrade?
