I have had an amazing experience through my pregnancy here. All my midwives are amazing in Quincy and Weymouth. I have seen Melissa the last two times and I cannot speak higher of her. Not sure how this place can’t have 5 stars. They are so responsive with every question and supportive of every decision you make!

Parking is not good. Gave up after 45 minutes. Please advise patients in advance when booking tests.

South Shore Hospital has wonderful doctors and nurses. When I say they saved a loved one's life, I mean it. She went to another local hospital by ambulance and couldn't walk, bp off the charts, you name it. She was in a bad way. They sent her home - in a wheelchair because she couldn't walk. Less than 24 hours she had a seizure and was unconscious. Brought to South Shore Hospital who immediately recognized how sick she was. We were told she was very, very sick and may not make it. They diagnosed her with bacterial meningitis and she was put on powerful medication immediately. She was rushed into surgery soon after to drain a pocket of infection in her head. They saved her life. No exaggeration. I won't name the other hospital but it's located in a town that rhymes with "Hilton". Stay away from that one unless you are dealing with preventive care.

THE RUDEST STAFF ON THIS PLANET!!!!!!!!Bar none. Me and my girlfriend went to visit my quite sick 94 yo dad. The patient in the room with him on Emerson was going crazy. So they needed to restrain him.So this punk came in and asked us to step out of room. We did just that. Immediately.A few minutes later this punk came out of room and got in my face. Then another security person came and started to yell at us. That person needs to be on meds.It was insane. Know they called 4 more security guys and threatened to arrest us.So we were there 15 minutes and were told to leave. My poor dad has no idea where we went or what happened. The security, and they know who they are .Need to lose their jobs!!!!The first kid who started this whole thing was the biggest PUNK ive ever come across. I will pursue to get him fired.Lastly, the rudest staff ive ever seen. This hospital is without a doubt the worst in MA.

Worst hospital I've ever been to and I am not going back there for the rest of my life I don't like that place anymore. Cape Cod hospital is better than South Shore Hospital

The first thing one notices is that the hospital is totally overwhelmed. I arrived in an ambulance and when they wheeled me through there were patients in beds lining the hallways. The hospital apparently had no rooms in which to place their patients. I arrived around 11 PM and was told patients in the ER are taken in the order of severity. Because I sat there overnight I fell asleep. When I woke up at 8:30 AM the daytime rhythm was well underway and I had the impression that I had been allowed to sit in that chair and sleep for hours. There were no other patients left in the ER waiting room. When I went up to the nurse's station I was told that a bed was ready. By that point I had become so disgusted, I just walked out.

I've had nothing but plesant experiences at SS ED. The nurses are always so kind and caring, and the doctors are very through with everything. And no matter what you're there for, they don't judge you or make you feel any differently. They always make sure you're comfortable. While I hope that I don't have to go back anytime soon, in the case that I do, I will always choose SS.

It's been 15 hours and counting . Half in the waiting area and half on the gurney in hallway. Waiting for admitting in hallway were no one is able to sleep except the comatose patients because lights are always on. They have a perfectly good ER overflow area that is underutilized, because they overstaff other areas and cannot shift staff to this area which would be best used as a bridge holding area for patients awaiting admitting and do not need constant monitoring. The nursing staff care of patients in the hallways versus rooms is astounding even though some of the patients in the hallways are worse off. Really don't need to hear nursing staff laughing amongst themselves at the nurses station which is straddling 4 hallway patients beds. Very unprofessional.

The Emergency Room Dept doesn't even deserve One star!! Not all the nurses and workers but a lot of the nurses in the back are horrible. Yesterday I had been seen at a small urgent care where they gave me antibiotics for a cough and chest pain but suggested I go to the ER and get a CT scan to rule out a blood clot in my lungs. So I went straight from the UC and I brought the paper work of what the doctor had suggested. After 3 hours in the waiting room and only getting an X-ray and sent back to the waiting room I told them I had to leave. Then this morning I get a call from the follow up nurse saying my X-ray showed I had pneumonia (which I already had a script for) but also suggested I go back to get a CT. I asked her how long would it be and I was told it wouldn't be as long if I got there right away and she would put a note in. Well the waiting room wasn't long but after over 2 1/2 hours in the back all they had gotten done was an IV! Which 2 nurses messed up my arm trying & had to have another nurse come with a ultrasound to find a good Vein. After another while I politely asked the nurse how long she thought it would be till I got the CT scan and I immediately got a huge attitude and basically telling me it would be hours longer just to get the CT scan so I left. I went right to Milton hospital where i was in a room , got an IV (on the first try with no ultrasound) and a CT scan all less than a hour and a half!! This is just ONE instance of this hospital being rude and just their quality of care going way down. I personally know people with way worse horror stories. Sad This is the hospital that stayed opened and not Quincy.

Just want everyone to know how the caretakers at South Shore hospital cared for my very sick 93 year old mother!! Wonderful care from all nurses and their aids! Nurses Olivia, Serena and Madeline along with aids, Carolina & Fernance. Super focused on care and well being of patients and families. If you can find your way to this hospital good fortune will follow you!!!

I was admitted on 12/10/22 on a FullMoon weekend. The place was very busy, controlled by the RN's. It was very busy so I had to stay in the hallway, and even though it was still a great attentive ordeal. Matt was checking on me and making sure I was doing good. I had been hit by a car while I was in the crosswalk it was a terrorizing thing that happened to me. The next afternoon I was brought up to a ward with many beds, and again I was given the best care by the nurses, Mary and Laura. I felt as though I was the only patient that they each had.Your Nurses are the best ever, at South Shore Hospital. Thank you so much to everyone that I met on 12/10/22 and 12/11/22

This review specifically about Dr. Ray Hall and Dr. Stephen Johnson in the neuro departmentI want to start by saying this was the worst experience I've ever had in my life with these two so called top in there field doctors. I've spent 10 years being my mothers PCA care in and out of the best hospitals in Boston Unfortunately. working for my mother getting all the experience of doing Woundvac's / colostomy bags/Wound packing/Lung drains/sitting in on surgeries/chemo and much much more from these Boston hospitals.Being part of the close care with Boston's hospitals I have seen and worked with the best of the best they have to offer . with way more capability and no egos at all just loving hearts to help. they have saved my mother's life more than twice thank god for them they are the best in the country as far as I'm concerned. but that's another storyThese two Dr's. Dr. Ray Hall and Dr. Steven Johnson were the most unprofessional Dr.s together as a team I have ever witnessed in my ten years doing this! ( hands down ) They had absolutely no bedside manner and massive egos straight out of the gate with total lack of everything for care. Let me tell you all something. I've seen the best of the best in Boston that have way better credentials half there age. So, as soon as I confronted Dr. Stephen Johnson chief of Nero, ( haha ya ok ) about his sidekick Dr. Ray Hall he said and I quote.....anyone that has a problem with Dr. Ray Hall has a problem with me with his bully like attitude "I was shocked!" ( Let me tell you something ) me traveling on a blackbelt team pulling a 2D Place international title for fighting If this was in the street it would've been a very different situation with there punk bully attitude. NOTE:Instead of taking very good care of the patient ( my mother ) that had 2 herniated discs dying in pain. They rather play games being incredibly unprofessionallacking the skills apparently to take her surgery! so I pulled her out of South Sure Hospital in Weymouth and moved her to Boston.Meeting the Chief of surgery at BWH in Boston that had 5 star everything across-the-board and a wonderful staff . my mother now walks free of pain thanks to her amazing incredible top tier Nuro team! Enclosing , do yourself a favor If you hear either one of those names Dr. Stephen Johnson or Dr. Ray Hall do yourself a huge justice and walk out of the room right away. save your loved ones dignity, respect and well-being by going right into the hospital where you and your loved one belong. definitely not this so-called support team at South Sure Hospital and Weymouth where if you do your homework you'll find it in the red zone maybe because of the attitudes of these two that I witnessed. Sincerely, and regretfully Christopher D. Note: If you would like any more information about the shenanigans please feel free to contact me hear in this review. Thank you and be well.

Unethical and unprofessional. They informed me the covid test is covered through insurance. They never called me or emailed, mailed or any form of contact. Instead they send a $128 bill to collections who never contacted me either then charged me $431 for a new member fee? Ruined my credit and send to collections, at minimum I must be given back this $303 extra charge.

My daughter recently had some health problems and after a horrible experience at our local hospital (Morton in Taunton) we decided to take the 40 minute drive to South Shore Health. From the emergency room nurses and doctors to the overnight nurses in the observation ER to the nurses on Emerson 4 their care was second to none. I appreciate all that you all did for my daughter and making her stay there as comfortable as possible. With all the tests and procedures she had to have they made sure to explain everything to us in terms we understood and gave her the time she needed to process what was going on.Thank you!
