I rated the grooming as 3 stars since the groomer did everything I asked for. The grooming came out nice and my dog looks great, but I thought it was expensive and others agreed ($120 for a full grooming/ trim 75 lb dog). However, the groomer nicked my male dog in his private area and he has been incredibly irritated. For customer experience I give a 2 star review. I definitely would not recommend this groomer to anyone who has a dog that has anxiety about going to the groomers (not that most dogs love getting groomed anyway). I have a sweet, gentle dog who gets very nervous getting bathed/ groomed, etc. and the groomer spoke rudely about my dog for being nervous when I picked him up. I didn't appreciate how unprofessional she was by repeatedly making negative comments on his matted fur. That was one of the main reasons he was there, for her to fix it. . I explained over the phone when I booked that he is a baby when it comes to grooming I also explained that he was overdue for a grooming as I had a long term hospitalization of nearly 3 months and wasn't able to get him to the groomer. I reiterated when I dropped him off that he was matted and needed to be cleaned up. So the staff was fully aware. Overall, the grooming came out nice but if you have a nervous dog, especially when getting groomed, I would look somewhere else so you don't have to worry when drop your pup off.

Always do an amazing job on our dog! She’s a zuchon (half bichon frise half shih tzu) and this is the only place I’ll bring her. No other place I’ve been can even come remotely close to how good they do!

Before I start, I want to preference this by saying we bought our 75lb Yellow lab there to wash her ourselves., The experience was terrific. The girl with purple hair couldn't have been any nicer. She was so lovely I decided to make an appointment to have our 5lb female Biewer Yorkie groomed there. Even though she already has a fantastic groomer two towns away. I decided to give Soapy Dog a try. I bought her in today, 3/24, at 9 am for a standard groom with an add-on of $15 to have her teeth brushed. I called the salon at 11:18 am, to be exact, to see if my dog was ready. The woman who answered the phone replied yes, she is. I then asked how much it would be, as I knew it was a cash-only establishment. She replied $90. I said that she had just got standard grooming and had an add-on of $15 to brush her teeth. She then replied she was difficult, so we added another $10 to the price. I was so upset and told the young lady I was unhappy with this. I have never paid $95 to groom my 5lb Biewer Yorkie. I got to the salon at 11:40, and the young lady wearing glasses with purple hair said common sense should let you know it costs more money. If you have long hair, it is more. She said she tried to bite me. I said she had been to a groomer since she was a puppy. They rave about how she is an excellent little dog and so well-behaved. I want the consumer to know that this place charges what they wish. Prices are not listed at all. The only thing they show you is laminated paper with service add-ons. Worse place I have ever been with the worse customer service. Extremely unprofessional with zero transparency. I give this place a zero rating. Proceed here at your own risk!!!! BAD, BAD, BAD, AWFUL PLACE, TERRIBLE!!!!! ZERO RATING

This was a very bad experience, both for me and my dog. I brought in my 5 month old puppy for a puppy groom. The office and grooming areas were dirty and smelled awful. The groomer was incredibly rude. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. On top of all that, my dog was terrified and looked awful. He was shaved (which I did not request) and what wasn't shaved was extremely choppy and uneven. Would not recommend this business.

If I could give 10 stars to this business, I would. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I use the place to wash my German shepherd mix. They have self washing stations that are set up very nicely. They offer their help and recommendations when needed. They are more than reasonably priced. Can't say anything bad. I don't know why anyone would ever give this place a bad review, so don't listen to those.

As current hairdresser and ex- dog groomer I can highly recommend the groomers at Soapy Dog with confidence.They've gone above and beyond in regards to my Goldendoodle, who can become a mess very quickly. She can be quite the handful and takes time due to this.As a ex groomer I totally understand this. And their prices are the best in the area for the patience given and grooming job done.On average I pay around $150 and thats with the extras of teeth and filing nails. My girl comes home happy, smelling amazing and looking the best!Now, I've seen some reviews on pricing and I'm sorry but as a hairdresser, I charge around the same price to do a woman's shampoo, blow out, cut and style ONLY and I'm NOT giving my customers a full body bath/blow out, mani/pedi, Brazilian shaves, butt trims, trimming your entire bodies, face trim, all while as you dance around me! People need to understand that grooming is a art, a skill and a highly important one. I'm thankful I worked in the industry so I clearly know what all is put into the care of dog grooming. I wish others could to. If anything I'd say the Soapy Dog sells themselves short on charging.So if you're looking for quality work with a staff that genuinely cares see Natasha and the girls at the Soapy Dog!

So disappointed! Did a great job but pricing for same dog went from 80- 120 dollars for same service! Won’t be returning! Can get grooming much less expensive!! 65 dollars an hour is a bit much!

Stay away! We moved to the South Shore after 4 years with the same groomer in Boston. We know our dog is anxious and discussed this behavior with Soapy Dog. With the previous groomer we NEVER had any issues beyond our dog being nervous: no reports of aggression, snarling or growling. Soapy Dog called today and reported that our dog needed to be muzzled, was snarling at staff and snapped at them. At her previous groomer our dog was handled with ease by numerous different groomers and had no issues when they changed owners and brought on new staff.We of course can't prove how our dog behaved, but this review reflects the way this issue was handled. The groomer was incredibly rude when reporting this behavior, refused to address us in person. Soapy Dog then demanded to be paid nearly double the agreed upon amount because our dog "was just so difficult." We learned (too late!) from previous reviews that Soapy Dog has done this exact scam before - claiming aggressive behavior when there is no previous history of this and demanding additional payment. Other reviews reference price gouging new clients - this is outrageous and against all respectable business practices. Avoid!

A great place to take your pooch for a wash. I frequent this place quite often. Friendly and helpful staff, reasonable pricing, good discounts and above all their high power blow dryers which is a bliss for me to walk out of the store with a sparkling clean and dry 90 pounder

Cannot recommend them enough!! Best dog groomer in MA! We recently moved from Weymouth to Nashville, TN and literally make sure to book an apt for our mini goldendoodle to get groomed every time we come home. They’re very reasonably priced and do an amazing job, grooming doodles isn’t easy and we’ve experienced other dog groomers just shaving him down completely because they were too lazy to take care of his hair, but the soapy dog pays such close attention to details and perfects his cut everytime!! The ladies there really care about the work they do and it shows. It might be a little more pricey than other places but it's worth it! My dog smells fresh feels clean and is happy when it's all done!!
