Egremont Village Inn is truly the most amazing inn I have ever stayed at. I stayed with a large group for a weekend and we had the most incredible time. The inn is incredibly unique, Sara's place was open for coffee, breakfast, and lunch, and the barn has incredible food and live music. Nick, the innkeeper and owner took great care of us the entire weekend and made us all feel at home. We were so comfortable (the beds were all so comfy!) and I'm already planning my next trip back. If I could give the inn more than 5 stars I would!!!

A very special place! Nick is wonderful with the right balance of being available but giving you space. The rooms are very clean, but it’s an old house; nearly 300 years old, so there will be creaks and normal settling for a home that age. There is no tv; I bring my laptop, but also enjoy the solitude. The Barn is open Wednesday through Sunday and provides a small menu, full bar and entertainment. The food was good; the service was excellent and the locals are very friendly. Probably my favorite part of the property is the rescue farm. I love waking up and visiting with the animals or coming back after a day’s adventures to see all these sweet animals. Nearly all are rescued from horrible situations and live happily with each other. It’s really the icing on an already sweet place. Also very convenient to Great Barrington, NY, and CT area towns. This is definitely a wonderful place to unwind and explore.Rooms: The rooms are small but clean and well kept. It would be awesome to have a small fridge, but also totally fine without. I would suggest cups and tissues, but everything else is spot onSafety: Very quiet area; rooms are deadbolted. I had the whole inn to myself and was not worried at allFood & drinks: The on site entertainment is why I choose to stay here. After a long day exploring, it’s great to park the car, have a bite and a drink and listen to music while just having to walk up the driveway to go to bedNoteworthy details: It’s the rescued animals/farm and the peaceful feeling of the inn overall.

Me and my wife were so excited to stay in the Berkshires for our anniversary. However when we were there it did NOT live up to the reviews. One day while trying relax in the living room area an employee named Sharry (I think) was sobbing and carrying on to the point where my wife felt like she had to comfort her to calm her down. There were multiple occasions where I could hear managers talking to employees rudely and employees complaining about management. It doesn't seem like the "kind" place it represents itself to be. As for the room itself I was disappointed to note that there was a strong odor of mildew and there were dried bugs in the window frames in all the windows I saw. That doesn't scream high end at all. For what my opinion is worth I would not recommend this location at all. I can't imagine their other inn is any better. Good luck.

By far the worst experience I've ever had. Smoke alarm keep us up all night, never saw one staff member. No Breakfast , no dinner at the barn. Fire alarm was intermittent all night. Avant would not refund my full rate. And I will never use Avant for anything in the future.Date of stay: March 2023Room tip: By far the worst experience I've ever had. It is a wonderful old house and the photos show what it could be like with more care and attention. However in real life the place appeared gloomier and more enclosed than the pics would suggest. I can’t really comment on the cleanliness of the public spaces as we didn’t feel comfortable spending time in them. Our room on the second floor was fine but the heating was a joke. The thermostat was outside the room and controlled our room and the one next door. As that was unoccupied we were able to set it to whatever temp we wanted. Well that was the theory, in reality turning the temp one degree up made the room hotter than a sauna with the radiators staying permanent on full blast. Turning it a degree down meant the radiators didn’t come on at all. All that said, having a welcoming and friendly staff/host would have made a big difference. Unfortunately, this was also the least welcoming (but by far not the least expensive) place we have stayed at during our New England touring holiday. There was no one to greet you when you arrive and no one to be seen during our 3 nights there. As other reviewers have said, there was no breakfast or coffee. However the little cafe down the road did a wonderful breakfast

I am being generous with my rating due to the nice owner Nick but we definitely did not find what we see in the pictures. The price per night was not worthy of what we received. We are pretty easy going family so we made the best of it. The "cottage" was a very rustic, in need of repair and upgrade upstairs (10 stair flight) 3 room apartment. The "kitchen" was equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave that was not working when we got there. A flick of a fuse box and it was back up and running. The space was enough for a rustic wooden table and 4 chairs. We were able to play a game around the table. The heat was a old forced air vent in the middle of the space so if you closed the doors, you did not benefit from the heat and there was a note not to close the curtain or the heater could I guess catch the curtain on fire The other vents did not work. The bathroom had air vents and heat switches that were very loud and a sink that constantly dripped water. The bedroom closed was off the hinges, the other bedroom had a screen that blocked the stored air conditioners. There is a small farm on property with rescued animals which was kind. Loved to watch the rooster crow . The barn was closed as it was a Monday/Tuesday. There was a small billiard and dart room. The darts were broken. Sara's coffee shop opened up on Wednesday but did not have drip coffee available at 8am. A positive is the beds are comfortable and clean. This place has much potential. I don't typically write as thorough a review, I felt it necessary for others to be informed.

2 weeks before before our scheduled arrival for a wedding, Nick the owner called and canceled my room. He had no alternative to offer and no good reason for the cancellation. He left us hanging during high season! In the end it was the best thing that could happen to us! Pictures on line are deceiving....friends that did stay there were not happy all!!!

A great space for a Berkshires experience! Welcoming, cozy, peaceful, perfect for setting out on and returning from local adventures. Excellent coffee and food at the in-house cafe, Sara’s Place, tended to by sweet, friendly people that seem to really enjoy being there. Also an eclectic group of animals on the property, bring the kids! To end the day you only have to walk across the parking lot to The Barn, an awesome music venue with great food and drinks, and you don’t have to worry about driving back to your accommodations.

Bare bones accommodation. Nothing is open from Monday to Wednesday at the Inn including the coffee shop or the Barn bar. So you have to drive to town for food. No refrigerator in rooms to store wet dog food either. I rarely saw anyone at all during my stay. They never answered their phone. I tried to call before my stay 3-4 times to make sure I was in a dog friendly room and no one answered. And then I called after checkout and left a message asking to explain why I was charged an additional $20 to the all inclusive bill from BringFido which I had already paid. I never got a return call. Poor communication, thinly staffed Inn and average room. Prepare to be awoken by people’s loud footfalls upstairs if you stay in one of the pet rooms in the basement. And given there are farm animals living on the property, I never wanted to let my dogs off leash. There was only a gravel parking lot for the dogs. All in all a pretty below average experience and a $20 surprise added to my bill with no explanation. Not a big deal but no TV’s in basement rooms or upstairs communal area either. Improvements needed. More like a hostel than an Inn.

We stayed in the Rebekah room, which is one of the smaller rooms, for the weekend. Clean, cozy rustic setting. We will probably get a bigger room next time we visit just for comfort (mostly bc I tend to overpack ?).Best parts about this place are 1) the people - the friendliest and helpful staff you can ever have! Very welcoming and warm; and 2) the cafe that is open most mornings and afternoons of the week - AMAZING coffee and tea drinks and delicious food for breakfast and lunch. Free drip coffee for inn guests! We also went to The Barn, their on-site bar and restaurant, for dinner and drinks. Again, amazing and delicious food - we would drive up just for the burgers! We had a great time and only wish we could've stayed longer. We would love to go back for another visit sometime!

Everything was fabulous! This is a great place to stay and play. Everyone is super nice - the guys in the coffee shop to the workers in the barn. We will definitely be back.

The Egremont Village Inn was a very nice, quaint place to stay - no microwave, no TV, or fridge in our room - although there was a small fridge in the reading room. It was just what we were looking for.The owners, Nick and Jenny were terrific! The Barn - which is a music venue on sight had "The Treaty" playing for the weekend. They were great!

This is a really nice performance space with very good food and a nice beer selection. I would definitely go back.Since I wrote that review, we have been back to the Barn multiple times. The menu has changed a little bit but the food is still very good and the perfect accompaniment to the overall vibe of the venue. The cocktails are superb. I think this place is turning out to be a destination performance space. We have also had the opportunity to stay at the Inn. Our room was spacious, unfussy and just the right temperature. The café in the Inn has breakfast fare and a coffee shop with espresso drinks (they're quite good).
