“Without a doubt the best thrift store in the area! Made an appointment to donate there this morning and was blown away by the aesthetic, style and curation of items here. It is so beautifully decorated it’s hard to believe it’s a thrift store, but their prices cannot be beat! Most clothing items are $5 and shoes $10, but the handpicked sections with higher end brands range from $10-$30 for the more formal dresses and designer accessories. If you’ve been to the well known thrift stores lately (Savers, Salvation Army, Goodwill) you know how these prices compare with quality items and overall shopping experience. Oh, and they have dressing rooms to try on clothing before purchasing. All the staff were so professional, friendly and helpful. Also, the book boutique was huge!”
“Dorchester Art Project has been serving the community for years. This is the best place for local artists! Rent their theater out for cool underground music shows or check out their awesome studio spaces Make sure to go to a gallery show or see a local band play and support local artists!”
“One of the best thrift stores in the area! The prices are great, and there's a lot of good finds. Also their mission is worth supporting. It isn't the biggest place, but it certainly makes an impact. There's no changing rooms either, but that's easily overlooked.”
“Amazing place with a ton of heart, especially the staff. The Thrift Shop of Boston supports The Home for Little Wanderers, which provides a range of services for children in dire living/economic situations. Great cause and business to support :)”
“CASH ONLY. Crowded and tight, the dust always makes my throat dry, but the prices are good & low and I *always* find something unique. Clothing and housewares = good selection. Appliances/lamps/suitcases/etc = not so much. Free parking & there’s an ATM in the lot. Sales rotate day to day.”
“My sister and I took six bags and two boxes of items to drop off. Three bags were "poundage," torn, stained, or well-worn clothing that they take to sell per pound to textile recycling. The process was quick and easy and they provide you with a receipt for tax purposes. I like that the proceeds benefit the Interfaith Social Services' food pantry, mental health counseling center, and homelessness prevention program.”

404 Washington St, Boston“Absolutely amazing! Everything is pretty much $1. Came here with a friend when we’d just moved here from the UK, and picked up a brand new wardrobe. Staff are super lovely, tons of different things to buy from shoes to books, bags to tvs. Highly recommend, couldn’t improve what so ever. Open every other saturday 11-1pm and wednesdays 3-6pm, I make sure to go every week you never know what you’ll find! Tons of new stuff everytime, ive had designer brands and fully new labelled items.”
“Such a great little thrift shop. As others have mentioned, the staff are all super nice and also helpful, the shop is cheery and organized and they have a good and varied selection of items. Prices are fair, and I usually find something I love. Enjoyable thrifting for sure!”
“Now this is what I call a thrift store! It has vintage items and you have to look for some great finds! The prices are affordable and the quantity/quality of clothes is abundant. They have trinkets as well along with a free table of stuff. The staff is also sweet and helpful. Get lost in the options!!!”
“First time going... Not my last! Definitely like "Grandma' s. Attic " Really nice. Wish I had more time.. Staff was awesome.. reasonable prices.. Look forward to My next visit..”
“Clothes here are really good brands and in excellent condition! Owner is super friendly and they have a resale system as well so you can bring in your outgrown kids clothes and get buying credits.”
“The salvation army in Central square in Cambridge on Massachusetts avenue health helped a lot of people throughout the long years that they have been there in that location. I have never stayed there overnight but I have occasionally had need of a shower which they were able to accommodate and a meal from time and time and a couple times during my laundry when I didn't have any money to do them,, don't let your pride get in the way of getting some help from a place like salvation army!! You need to call at 6:00 a.m. the same day to reserve a bed if they have any if you need a place to sleep for the night. If you're going to be staying there I recommend trying to get a bed as close as possible to staff as possible, do not have any loose belongings on you when you go there as they might get stolen, if we have something of value keep it under your shirt or coat or sweater and tie it to you securely before you go to sleep..”
“Recently the clothes they have are new and beautiful. Prices are awesomeGlad to see they have better options now. Staff ok not super friendly but doing there job.”
11AM - 6PM
1407 Washington St, Boston“I love this place. There's home goods and clothes, sometimes a vintage rack in the back. It's all end brands, often with the tags on, sold at half price or below. And best part is the money goes to Boomerangs and their mission to support the AIDS Action Fund. It's guilt free shopping.”
“Found some great things there alot of retro stuff and antiques with excellent customer service I couldn’t believe some of the stuff they have I know there’s a few things I want to get before someone else does”
“I love this location! I always walk out with some fun goodies and they have such a great collection of vintage ceramics/plates. The employees are nice considering all the craziness they have to put up with but Richard is my fave guy. Def take a look if you’re ever nearby!”
9AM - 7PM
892 River St, Hyde Park“very nice staff, great selection with an awesome men’s sweater section! everyone saying it was dirty or a bad thrift store was either in a bad mood or that was their first ever thrift store lol! thrift stores aren’t known for being squeaky clean!”
“Goodwill Industries International Inc., simply known as Goodwill, is an American nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides job training, employment placement services, and other community-based programs for people who face barriers in their employment.”
“I almost always find something here. The shelves are always stocked and I feel like there’s a lot of item turnover. I will say there are often broken or dirty items on the shelves, so you have to be in the mood to sort through to find your treasures. Sometimes it smells weird in the store.”
“Will be closed on mid July, not sure when will reopening. Got 1 jeans and 1 pants for $7! (both on 50%off sale) Definitely have some gems but need some time to dig into it.”
“This place was the most amazing Goodwill I've ever been to it was clean it was organized everything was color coded the only thing I didn't like is the racks weren't divided into sizes and the staff wasn't very friendly but besides that it's a great place to find some really cool good second hand clothing”
10AM - 7PM
230 Elm St, Somerville“Great store! Very clean, items organized by category and color. Very reasonable prices. Only down side is fittings rooms are closed, so have to guess with sizing”

487 Broadway, Somerville“My sister and i started thrifting there to donate cloths for homeless and refugees. They have great selection of quality warm clothes at a decent price. The best part of it is the staff, manager Leslie is so kind and professional. the 2 other girls that work there (sorry i dont recall their name) are so lovely. Thank you for giving me back something that help me remember good times with my mom. I can't thank Donna enough for her kindness.”
10AM - 5:30PM
334 Pleasant St, Belmont“i live very close to this store, and it is nice to have a place withing walking distance that also happens to have daily discounts. Yes the clothing is overpriced, but its all reasonable. I have found so many cute things here, both clothes and other, that i really think it is a great thift store for some hidden gems.”
“I had time to visit one Goodwill while in Boston, so based on reviews, I chose this one. And I loved it! Only took cash since computers were down-so I was lucky I had cash. No dressing rooms-so I tried things on over my shirt. I ended up buying 4 things for right under $21!!! I loved all the things I found- a sleeveless sequined Ann Taylor top, a long sweater coat from J Jill, a Uniqlo puffer vest, and a like new red/blac/gray/white scarf. I traveled carry-on, so that was about all I could fit in my suitcase! But so worth it! Public parking lot near by. Siizes are all mixed. But because it's a smaller store, it wasn't too hard to go through. Prices are based on the item, so you don't know the price unless you ask. There are different color plastic tags that they use to price an item. I thought everything was affordable-lots of great choices!”
