I cannot recommend this place more. They have taken care of our two cats with such attention to detail and kindness, especially when one of them was very ill. He made a full recovery thanks to their support of his care.

My 18 year old cat was unwell and in need of end of life care. Everyone was absolutely amazing here. My cat was treated with care and respect. I was walked through the process and offered time to say my goodbyes. They were so kind and compassionate. And they are making me some paw prints as a keepsake. I'm going to switch from my current vet and start bringing my other cat here for her check ups.

Dr. Yao was incompetent. Cost me an extra $300 because he couldn't diagnose a very common condition.I brought my 13 year old lab in, complaining of back limb weakness and hoarse breathing. (One google search will tell you that it's a common condition in old labs called GOLPP). Dr. Yao didn't know and referred me to an orthopedic specialist, which cost me $300. The orthopedic specialist, thank goodness, knew some general medicine too and told me this wasn't an orthopedic issue. He took one look at Dakota and told me it was GOLPP. When I looked it up, all the symptoms fit.

Dr. Dylan Krowicki and Dr. Kelly Morin have both been outstanding veterinarians for my pup. They are compassionate, well-educated, and have always provided us with the utmost care. The vet techs are just as incredible! Office fees are reasonable and they’ll even communicate via email about questions.

It’s very hard to get them to give you quotes, it takes for ever. Plus wrong information put into system makes me worry. The front desk need to pay more attention to details.

I had been taking my pup there for about 6 months, I feel pretty confident it was a good choice. Our vet seems knowledgeable and caring and the assistants are gentle with my girl. Prices are high, but it is what it is everywhere.

I generally like Somerville Vet Center, and I go because they are the closest to my house. Today I had a poor experience with one of the technicians who seemed blatantly annoyed during the entire time I was there. My dog is a very excited puppy and I had a lot of questions about his medication, and I felt that she was annoyed to answer the questions. She also completely ignored my dog up until she had to take him into the other room. I understand not every person is a dog person, but it made me feel extra self conscious about my excited dog who was getting anxious. When I left, she didn’t make eye contact or say goodbye at all. Overall, good vets there, usually a good experience, but I think it’s worth it to note whenever someone is unprofessional and makes you feel uncomfortable.

Not sure of how many stars to give but it’s the kind of place where it’s probably not the worst option but if you’re looking for a good return on investment, this clinic is not it. Look around for other options even if it means having to drive or go further.

2023 update: I've been coming her a long time and I've always had positive experiences until this year. The vets are always nice but some of the staff have attitudes that make is discouraging to seek care. I was seeking cheaper options for a medication and the woman was incredibly short with me and not willing to help, definitely felt like she wanted me to feel bad for not being able to afford it. Another time my cat has just started symptoms and I called for advice, as recommended, and she asked me what was going on then said she can't help at all, didn't even offer to make an appointment. So I was still totally unsure what I should do with my pet. What used to feel like a resource is now an anxious call to make. This isn't the entire staff, I've worked with several nice techs, but at least 2 women that work there are not good for the business and it's very sad to question where I should bring my pets when I was so sure before. My last review is null and void. This is the best vet I've gone to! The staff is very helpful, understanding, and love your pets like you do! The pricing is also the most reasonable I've faced and they are accommodating when discussing how much you can afford (without making you feel bad about it! Unlike other vets I've seen). I highly recommend this place

Our experience has been great! Everyone on the team has been so wonderful. Great communication over the phone and at the office. Everyone is so patient—the vets, vet techs, everyone—it’s incredible. They’ve been so easy to work with and we are really happy going here. It can be so difficult to find a good vet, and a vet who is currently taking patients, so I feel really fortunate to have found this practice. Highly highly recommend!

Recently moved to the Somerville area and Somerville Veterinary Clinic was the only place that was able to take my cat on as a new patient immediately, as opposed to be on a wait list for months. My cat was old and sick and they were EXCEPTIONAL when it came to her end of life care and her last day. All of the staff was incredibly friendly, informative, and supportive. I cannot recommend this clinic enough.
