Children room is very dirty including toys and the carpet is very bad. It looks like it has not been clean in a long time.

This library is the bomb. Chess! And great friendly people. Need to fix the water fountains, but other than that, absolutely awesome.

Two floors, very kind front desk people, a gender neutral bathroom, and they have a zine selection, which I've never seen outside of a university library before! Picture is the view from the second floor

Great public library to stay and read in or check outa book. Make sure to look into the programs they offer. I was able to get the audiobooks I've been looking for with the librarians help

We are fortunate to have such a lovely library close by. We have used this library for many years even before the extensive renovations and it is a joy to have the core historic library remain on site. The staff are helpful and kind and there are lots of books at this branch.

If you're into Revolutionary War history, this is a neat sign on the library. Prospect Hill and the Old Powder House are not far away.

It was extremely cold in the room. I sat and did my work in. Wished I had a fleece on. I was able to finish my work in peace and quiet, which was appreciated

The main branch of the Somerville library might not be as new or blingy as newer libraries throughout the state, but it has just about all the resources you'd expect - especially those that are relevant to a socioeconomically diverse community. Think books in a variety of languages plus other borrowable media. As always, I'm always dazzled by "libraries of things" like the one here, which includes laptops, mifi devices, board games, cooking equipment, and even recreational equipment. A nice way to try a game or a gadget if you're interested in buying one - or in lieu of buying one if you don't need to use it all that often anyway. There are also plenty of community services, whether language and citizenship classes, tax filing assistance, or even public events like ComixCon (!). The interior has plenty of seating, even if you have to walk around to find tables with conveniently located outlets if you need to hunker down over a laptop. As always, a vital community resource.
