My thoughts below; and I strongly suggest readers looking for new bank carefully vet Santander banking activity online through reputable news/business sites online as well. (Google bank closings: Santander leads the pack -- closing far more branches than any other in MA). (And this is the only way you'll hear about it; they closed the ATM near me without notice -- didn't even leave a sign on the door! Their sign stayed there for at least 6 months; meanwhile, the ATM customers only realized when they tried to enter -- they were locked out. "Santander Bank's newest planned branch closures adds to the more than 35 it's closed since the beginning of the pandemic." (June 15, 2023, Business Boston Business Journal by reporter Meera Raman)- Santander also paying out $4.5 million in recently settled class action suit My personal exp. with Santander (this is for Metrowest Boston, MA) They're a hot mess: Inaccessible cust service both online/by phone. Good luck getting thru to a competent, attentive real person to address your issue (you know, the one you've already tried to resolve thru their useless bot "services" and phone prompts that lead no where -- you CANNOT reach a live person for help. So be prepared to be ignored and driven to tears* in circles trying to figure it out yourself. My attempts to resolve fairly straightforward issues and erroneous transactions in-person --tried 2 local branches, several times --unsuccessful as well. (Friendly bank rep will express concern and call HQ, who will confirm they don't know either.) My experience was consistently disappointing, painfully time-consuming & I was driven to tears in frustration *Seriously--I'm a reliable, financially-seasoned customer--I had no idea that a bank could make me cry. This is "self-serve" banking, but without proper forethought and consideration for customer needs nor the tech/resources to make their online-only model work. (Suggest you Google "Santander Bank closings" as well -- they're going down like dominoes.)

Terrible customer service. Staff never says hello, please, thanks or sorry. Central Square and Chinatown branches are more professional.

This branch decided to close unexpectedly, had an emergency deposit to make after my mobile app wasn’t working to pay my HELOC I have with them. There were workers inside, didn’t answer door so I called, told me to go to another branch. I only had a small window of time to make this deposit. I’ve been with this bank for years, and they should have accommodated since it was an emergency. Awful

Super rude made it very clear that they were annoyed to stop talking to help me and when I expressed that I wasn't OK with something that was happening they started to speak about me directly in front of me in Spanish which I couldn't believe they would do that super rude horrible branch, probably the worst branch of any bank have ever been in

Manager is no help and the service is TERRIBLE! You are better off going to central sq or Charlestown location they treat you BEYOND RIGHT! They need to hire a new manager and new staff at the Davis sq location.

The branch manager is extremely rude. I’ve had a business account here for 4+ years. It’s issue after issue. Lots of fraud on card. If you have an appointment they cancel after your arrive. I drove over an hr to pick up paper work that I requested and then they wouldn’t give it to me because I didn’t have my ID with me even though when I withdraw thousands of dollars they never ID me or when I put money in they never ID me. I had my debit card with me and other proof. They somehow linked my employees personal bank account to our business account even though she’s not an owner. This bank is an absolute mess but to top it off they don’t care at allll. They think it’s all your fault. Horrible customer service. Go elsewhere.

My Davis Square Branch in Mass, # 0720 is the best Bank I have ever had. I opened an account with them over a year ago after not having a bank account for over a decade. They have been amazing! I was nervous about having a bank account due to fees and tech in recent years, yet this branch is above and beyond for service and staff! The ladies who work here are always polite, friendly, and professional! I love having a local bank now! They have always done the best to provide me with the excellent service any bank could. The online app, and website are also user friendly and very well made and maintained! I truly feel they are working to help me and other patrons find our way to financial freedom! Thank you for your truly essential service and human kindness always!

Rude employees works there that I was hang up on the phone by Pamela lady just cause she was rushing to go home. And when manager call me back she said " I had my way and I was not innocent either" Who talkes like that to their customers?? I was disrespected and talk down to. And they refused to apologize or admitt their mistakes. They are not professional at all. I am not going back this location or call it.

So, I walked in with a simple question, but left with a smile and a nice impression... the wait time was zero- which is always a plus... I was assisted by Ms Amal, with a smile on her face, as well as the professionalism in dealing with my question... I got the answer I was looking for, also advices and recommendations... I live in a different town, but glad I made the stop that day!Thank you!

The bank charged me inactive account fees during the pandemic because paychecks weren't deposited. They just lost a customer.

Atm doesn't accept bills, employees dont seem to care when you tell them. Went inside and their machines were super slow and had to be refreshed, again, employees dont seem to care or have much training. You're better off going to the one in Harvard Square.
