I have given this place one star because there is nothing lower. I have been a patient for almost 20 years (started at the Porter Square site), and I cannot explain what is happening to it.
Despite having several contact lens fittings since 2021, I am still in a prolonged wait to receive them. Initially, the pandemic affecting the manufacturing of contact lenses was an understandable hurdle. However, at this point, the extended delay is not just inconvenient, but also disrespectful to patients like me.
At the last appointment in late 2023, I heard all the excuses. Jonathan Parrelli even promised to make telehealth calls to update me on the status of my contact lenses. I even saw him checking his call schedule, but the calls have yet to happen. It is an awful feeling when you can tell someone is lying to your face; I still try to believe. After my exam, I was told to pay for the contacts in advance, so I did, and nine months later, NOTHING. I keep calling but have yet to make progress.
Now, I want my money back and go somewhere where my sight is important!!
It's disheartening because I've referred several people to this business, believing in its quality of service. However, the current situation is a far cry from what it used to be, leaving me and others feeling let down.

I used to love this place (I have been going to Parrelli for 20 years), and I liked the idea of supporting family-run businesses that stood behind their work, but it seems this location was never taken seriously. Today I tried to have my frames adjusted, but the woman working here said I had to come back Tuesday through Friday — there's no one there on Saturday who can do that work. Furthermore, I was told that the frames I bought here were too small for me anyway. Why would they hand sell me a pair of frames that aren't even the right size?Going forward, I will have to find a place where staff are more knowledging about fitting frames and dispensing eyewear.

DO NOT GO HERE. I have been wearing contacts for 12 years, glasses for 16 years. I have never had an eye exam so rushed and unthorough. I told the optician that I didn't think the prescription he was accurate, and that I could read the letters better with my old prescription than looking through the lenses he settled on. I was brushed off. I was not given new contacts to test the prescription, despite paying for a fitting. I have never has that experience in 12 years of contact prescriptions.I went to another eye doctor to check my prescription, and the prescription was .75, and 1.5 point different for each of my eyes (That's nearly half the strength of my prescription). Don't go here if you don't want your concerns to be ignored and a very inaccurate prescription.

The current staff continue the legacy of John Parrelli Sr, by providing quality services. The team takes the time to ensure patients reveive the best care and leave better able to see the world around them. For the past 46, the services have centered on my continued eye and vision health.

This place is great! We met April, who was incredibly patient and treated our glasses like performing surgery, bringing my glasses to a perfect condition.

There are a lot to complain about this place. To be fair, I think the store manager tried but the eye exam service was so poor. It was the worst experience! I was scheduled to come in for an eye exam and the doctor was not there. She was 1hour late. I was told the doctor was with another patient but there was no one walking in and out of those exam rooms.Then, the issues started coming in. They had my date of birth wrong, despite me trying to correct by calling multiple times. The prescription was never finalized. I had to call the store and call & email a LOT of times to get a hold of the doctor (apparently the eye center group she is with is different from the store so had to work with them separately). Eventually the prescription was finalized but still had my DOB wrong. Horrid and unprofessional!About billing: I have insurance but had to pay some money at time of visit, which is fine and typical. Few months later, I received a bill from the doctor office for another amount. Are you kidding me? You charge almost $400 (before insurance adjustment) on top of what I already paid at the store? What did I pay at the store for? No one help me answer this question because the doctor’s billing office was unresponsive despite my multiple calls and voicemails.Do not use their eye exam service!!!! Never again.

aprile is possibly the best customer service person i've ever encountered. she went above and beyond any expectation i could've fathomed. i don't even live in boston (california, long story) but from here on out i think i'm just gonna go through parrelli optical on assembly row for my eyeglasses needs. thank you so much!

Parrelli Optical Assembly has been my go-to for two years, offering an extensive and stylish range of glasses and contact lenses. Not only are the glasses stylish, but they also come with a great warranty and demonstrate commendable durability.Each member of the team that I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with has been outstanding, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable experience. A special shoutout to Edgar, Nicole, and Freddy, who have been incredibly helpful in scheduling my exams and assisting me with my glasses and contact lenses. Their dedication to customer service is truly commendable.Comprehensive eye exams and a variety of contact lenses are also available, meeting all my eye care needs. call them to confirm what lens options they have an whether they offer ultra thin with 1.74 refractive index lens. the lady dont even know what is refractive index for lens. ignorant and unprefessional

Exam itself was fine. They try so hard to upsell you things you don't need and straight up lie to your face about it. They also sent the incorrect prescription contacts. I will not return.

The staff are very nice and pleasant people. The product is ridiculously overpriced. Management has rules, that are not focused on customer satisfaction. Nothing happened on time, first set of glasses didn't work properly, they wouldn't prioritize my second set. Took me over two months to get glasses.

Don't do it! Hannah Edward is the worst eye doctor I've ever seen. I went to see her for a regular checkup and to get new glasses. Once I receive my glasses the prescription was so strong I was getting dizzy getting a headache vomiting so I had to go back to see her again. So I called her went back in she reviewed my prescription said oh oh yeah it's wrong. Then proceeded to give me back the previous prescription that my eye doctor from a year ago gave me. I had to go back three more times because the frames wouldn't fit me my glasses kept falling off. I would never recommend anybody go to Hannah it's scary she's not really an eye doctor.

Great service, with a thorough examination and easy to understand explanations of findings. Went above and beyond the usual 5 minute eye check. Instead the approach felt personal and the doctor took the time to answer my questions and council me on preventative measures. I feel a lot better about the health of my eyes after seeing them. 10/10
